The truth about the final battle against Bug Noire and Monarch comes
out. Cat Noir finally discovers the identity of the new threat: her
name is Chrysalis.

Back shot of Marinette hugging Adrien from behind while he

kneads bread.
She teaches him how to make a classic French braided
brioche.

1 MARINETTE
(she laughs)

2 MARINETTE
Not like that, dummy. It’s like
this.

She eventually proceeds to gently show him how to do it

correctly.

3 MARINETTE
Watch and learn.

Close-up on the window. It starts to rain heavily outside.

Marinette and Adrien look at the window:

4 ADRIEN
Looks like it’s raining super heavily
outside. Be careful when you’ll go
home.

Marinette nods her head.

5 MARINETTE
Hm.

She then kneads the bread for Adrien to show him an

example.

6 MARINETTE
So, I was saying... It's like this.

7 ADRIEN
Oh, I see now.

Adrien kneads the bread.

8 ADRIEN
Thank you Marinette. I love you.

Marinette is embarrassed and proceeds to softly slap him in

the face.
Adrien smiles at her, with eyes full of love.

Stop looking at me like that, goober.
Focus instead on the that bread
you are kneading.

Adrien smiles harder. He looks at her. Marinette looks

straight up to Adrien’s green eyes. They stare deeply into
each other’s eyes, for a long moment.

10 ADRIEN
Alright, precious. Like this?

Marinette deeply smiles at him.

MARINETTE
Exactly. Like this.

30 SEC. OPENING

2 EXT. AGRESTE MANSION - DAY

Marinette and Adrien exit the Agreste Mansion. It’s raining

heavily outside. They are both wearing black waterproof
jackets, with their hoods on. After closing the huge door
behind them, Adrien grabs Marinette’s hand.

11 ADRIEN
You just asked me why I
put my coat on too. I’ll
take you home Marinette.

Marinette first appears surprised, but quickly shows her

rejoicing.

12 MARINETTE
You shouldn’t do things like
that for me.

Adrien puts his finger on her mouth to shut her up.

13 ADRIEN
My heart belongs to you, and
only you. Please promise me you’ll
never forget that you
are my favorite blue eyed
girl in the whole world.

Adrien holds out his pinky to Marinette. She links hers

with his in a simple pinky promise.

I promise.

Adrien and Marinette begin to walk in the heavy rain.

15 ADRIEN
You know, Marinette, everytime I look
at your blue eyes, I always get
the feeling that I am bathing
in a soothing ocean.

Marinette looks surprised. She didn’t expect him to feel

such things when he looked into her eyes.

17 ADRIEN
Yeah. And everytime I’m away from you,
I still feel the waves
of this beautiful ocean that
is no other than your eyes.

18 MARINETTE
I like your eyes too.
You look just like your mother.

Adrien's face saddens.

19 ADRIEN

Marinette notices that something is wrong and immediately

takes a look at Adrien, who is avoiding her glance.

Marinette looks down too.

Adrien I’m so sorry I’m such
a fool...

It’s fine Marinette. Don’t worry
about it.

She looks at him.

22 MARINETTE

Adrien smiles at her.

Marinette nods her head.

She smiles.

on my seat?

28 ADRIEN
Of course I remember that! You
thought I was harassing you, when
instead, I was just trying to make
a good impression.

(she laughs)
I really took you off guard...

Adrien gets on the defensive, and looks back with his eyes,
without turning back.

30 ADRIEN
Marinette, keep quiet. I feel like
someone is following us.

<COO! COO!> A pigeon makes a sound on the roof of a

building near the two lovebirds. It then flies in the sky,
catching their attention. Marinette and Adrien look in the
sky, and follow the pigeon with their eyes until it gets
out of their visual field.

31 ADRIEN
Something feels wrong. Let’s
hurry up.

Marinette clings to his arm.

32 MARINETTE
I’m scared, Adrien.

She lays her head on his shoulder. As they walk in the

rain, you can hear footsteps of someone walking behind
them. Adrien turns back.

33 MARINETTE
What’s wrong?

Marinette looks at him.

34 ADRIEN
Nothing, Marinette.

A heavy ambience takes place. Adrien and Marinette are

getting closer to the Dupain-Cheng bakery, while the person
is still following them - they become more and more
worried.

35 MARINETTE
Do you think we’re
gonna make it?

36 ADRIEN
I hope so.

Adrien looks back for one last time. He sees Chrysalis.

She’s standing up, watching them - is it really her, or an
hallucination of his? (Author's note: Make the watcher
doubt that.) Adrien instantly grabs Marinette and runs
towards the bakery. He opens the door, and without even
saluting her parents, he goes upstairs and takes her to her
living room.

3 INT. DUPAIN CHENG BAKERY / MARINETTE’S BEDROOM - DAY

Adrien immediately closes the wooden trapdoor behind him.

37 ADRIEN
Marinette, please stay here. We’re
not safe.

Marinette appears surprised: she has no idea of what is

happening!

38 MARINETTE
Why? What happened? You’re making
me worried.

you more about it, but I can’t.

The two characters lock eyes. Marinette is upset.

40 MARINETTE
We’re a couple now. We can’t
keep secrets from each

is happening…

Adrien heads toward the door of her living room. He

slightly opens it, as he is ready to go.

41 ADRIEN
I am sorry Marinette. I’ll call
you once i’ll be home.

Adrien closes the door behind her.

3 EXT. DARK ALLEY - DAY

...Adrien running near the street he just came from with

Marinette where he saw Chrysalis. He finds a small, dark
alley, and decides to enter it transform.

Adrien transforms into Cat Noir, and turns back. Only to

find Chrysalis! (Author’s note: The viewer cannot fully
distinguish her. Chrysalis appears to be a silhouette at
this exact moment.)

What...This is bad…

46 CAT NOIR (CONT’D)

Did they see me transform, or did
they just appear now? Am I
really facing the new butterfly
miraculous holder?!

Chrysalis attempts to look mysterious by not looking in his

eyes.

47 CHRYSALIS
It’s about time we finally meet.
Don’t you think so,

Close-up on her lips.

48 CHRYSALIS
Adrien Agreste?

Chrysalis looks at him.

Cat Noir first seems shocked but his eyes rapidly get
filled with hatred and anger towards her.

49 CAT NOIR
You... What is your
name?

50 CHRYSALIS
My name? Oh I see,
you want to know my name?

51 CHRYSALIS
Fine, I’ll tell you. My name
is Chrysalis.

The camera goes from her feet to her head, revealing her
official costume. Her costume is covered in purple, with a
small butterfly symbol on her dox. Chrysalis has two wings,
and her hair is longer and tied up. Her mask has a bit of
silver, and is connected to her costume.

52 CAT NOIR
Chrysalis, your little scheme
ends now.

53 CHRYSALIS
(she laughs)
You really think you can outsmart me?

54 CHRYSALIS (CONT’D)
I’ve been studying you and
Ladybug’s fighting methods for weeks
now.
55 CHRYSALIS
There is no way you
can defeat me. I was sure
I was gonna find you or
Ladybug first, which I ended
up being right about. It’s over,
pussycat. Herohood ends today for
you.

Cat Noir points both hands to the sky...

56 CAT NOIR
Not if I use my... Miraculous
Cat Noir!

... and attempts to use his Miraculous Cat Noir, which ends
up failing.

57 CHRYSALIS
Listen, I don’t think you understand
the situation. My knowledge about your
identity wasn’t caused by any of my
akumatized villain. It simply was an
uncarefulness of yours, just like you
transforming in this weather.

There is a moment of silence. You can hear the rain drops.

58 CHRYSALIS
A few seconds. A few seconds,
and all of this will be
over. You ring is slowly
slipping off. Do you understand,
now?

Cat Noir, to his surprise, realises that his miraculous is

slipping off. Close-up on his wet ring.

59 CAT NOIR
I’m not the only one in
a unadvantageous situation, Chrysalis.
Your broach is also going to
slip off. All I have to
do now is grab my staff, to
text Ladybug.

Chrysalis looks at him, with irritated eyes. She

aggressively uses her cane as a sword to try to hit him.
The fight between the two begins.
Cat Noir dodges her attack and tries to hit her with his
staff, which ends up being useless - Chrysalis jumps over
his staff, walks on it and hits him with her right leg.
As the battle continues, rain becomes heavier, and their
miraculouses are about to slip off. Cat Noir falls to the
floor but easily gets up before finally hitting her with
his extended staff.
Chrysalis falls on the floor. Cat Noir approaches her
before she even stands up.

60 CHRYSALIS (V.O.)
Oh no. This is extremely bad.
He’s about to seize the broach.
I won’t be able to get his miraculous
without any of my powers. QUICK!
I need to do something...

Chrysalis quickly seizes her cane, opens a magic portal and

gets one of her notebooks out of it. She throws it. Cat
Noir, just about to seize her miraculous, is caught off
guard.

61 CAT NOIR
What did you just throw?!

Chrysalis smirks.

62 CHRYSALIS
Notebooks are useful objects made up
of sheets of paper, to store information.
The words written on the paper
of a notebook can be preserved for
more than a hundred years, or even
eternity.

Dutch angle shot at Chrysalis and Cat Noir.

63 CHRYSALIS
However, if water comes in contact
with the notebook, the handwritten words
slowly begin to fade away, becoming
impossible for someone to understand what
was written in the notebook. Once those
phrases are faded away, nothing can
bring them back. It’s an everlasting
condition.

She raises her voice and frowns. Cat Noir doesn’t

understand what she is trying to say here.

This notebook contains the truth about
Monarch’s identity, and supplementary
information concerning what I
know about you and Ladybug! Why
would you hesitate?! What Ladybug did
not tell you is wrote right here!

61 CHRYSALIS
The rain is wetting my notebook...
The truth about the final battle
between Bug Noire and Monarch is
slowly vanishing!

Medium shot at Chrysalis.

62 CHRYSALIS (V.O.)
I have no other choice than this
one. This is my last card. All I
can do now is hope that he will
chose the notebook over my broach.
Cat Noir doesn’t have much time
left. His ring is slipping off!

63 CHRYSALIS
The answers to your questions are
getting stolen by the rain!
Don’t you want to know who
Paris’ former threat was?

64 CAT NOIR
(he grunts)
URGH!

Cat Noir screams, and quickly turns back before seizing the
notebook. He quickly escapes, as Chrysalis is delighted
with his manoeuvre.

65 CHRYSALIS
THIS IS PERFECT! Now that
the Kitty is out of my way,
I can finally execute my plans!
You will soon lose your beloved
girlfriend, Adrien Agreste!

Chrysalis gets out of the dark alley.

4 INT. AGRESTE MANSION / ADRIEN’S LIVING ROOM - DAY

Adrien gets in his room by his window. He is holding the

notebook. His ring slips off. He detransforms.

what happened during the final
battle? I don’t think this is

Plagg is more than desperate to try for Adrien to not open

the notebook: he doesn’t want him to discover the harsh
truth.
67 ADRIEN
I’m determined to know the truth,
that you and Ladybug have been
keeping away from me. Why shouldn’t
I?

Plagg grips on the notebook, trying to take it away from

his holder.

68 PLAGG
Adrien, please listen to me!! There
are some things that are better
for you to not know, and the
truth is one of those things.

Adrien forcefully pulls out the notebook towards himself.

He grinds his teeth.

69 ADRIEN
Even if the truth may be
hard to accept, the truth also
concerns me, not only Ladybug!

Adrien gives an angry glance at Plagg.

We’ve been facing Monarch for so

Not knowing his identity feels like

Due to his efforts, Adrien falls on the ground. The

notebook falls on the ground too.

It is written “GABRIEL AGRESTE = MONARCH.” On the right
page, evidence is glued together.
Adrien quickly drops the notebook on the floor. <KABOOM!>
The thunder rumbles at this exact moment. Adrien takes a
step back.

72 ADRIEN
What... the...

Adrien nervously laughs. His eyes are slowly tearing up.

73 ADRIEN
(he nervously laughs)

74 ADRIEN
This is a joke right, Plagg?

75 ADRIEN
This is all made up! Right?
This obviously isn’t the truth!
Who could believe such a thing...

Adrien falls on the floor. He is crying. Plagg looks at him

with empathy. He proceeds to sit on his right shoulder.

5 INT. DUPAIN CHENG BAKERY / MARINETTE’S LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

Close-up of Marinette’s cellphone. She is trying to call

Adrien, which doesn’t seem to be responding.

Do you think something happened to

Marinette looks at Tikki.

an inconvenience. This is starting

As she is hunting for Adrien in the city, the Eiffel Tower

suddenly illuminates. Something is being projected:
“LADYBUG LIED TO YOU ALL.” It stopped raining outside.

Ladybug lied to you a…

81 LADYBUG
What?!

A citizen notices Ladybug standing on the roof of an

apartment. He immediately calls her out and accuses her of
running on rooftops.

82 AVERAGE CITIZEN
Look, it’s Ladybug! Boohoo! Why are
you running on somebody’s roof instead
of taking the bus?

83 LADYBUG
What?! Me and Cat Noir have
been doing this for...

Suddenly, Cat Noir appears out of nowhere. He hostilely

pins her against the floor.

84 CAT NOIR
Why didn’t you tell me about
Monarch’s secret identity? I should’ve
known! His wish was only to
bring back my... my best friend’s
dead mother! How could you
do this to me ?! Aren’t I your
fellow partner?

Cat Noir gives an angry glance at Ladybug. Ladybug

desperately tries to escape.

Monarch. Viperion is standing near Ladybug. She looks dull
and her eyes seem lazy. In the crowd, we can now perceive
some of the Miraculers: like Alya and Félix are carefully
listening to what Ladybug has to say.
