PART I. ACCOMPLISHMENT
My first week as a student teacher feels like a rollercoster. It was a mixture of nervousness and
excitement. I can’t believe that I really made it this far, just a blink of an eye and I’m finally entering the
last chapter of my college life. On the first day, we are deployed by our internship coordinators, Dr.
Mark Jhon Tamanu, Dr. Kelhveen Jezrill Cariño, Dr. Marivic Gorospe, and Dr. Shailanie Rivera. We are
all excited waiting for them as they would officially deploy us to be student teachers. While waiting for
them, the head teacher of our cooperating school orients us about the do’s and don’ts inside the school
premises, the duties and obligations of the students teacher and the cooperating teachers, as well as the
grading system on our field, how to compute grades, and how to input information on their automated
card maker. He presented us their innovative website which is E-KIOSK which contains the DepED’s
mission, vision and core values, e-library, best practices of the school, innovations, advocacy, project
RD- ELC-NEB, teaching and non-teaching staff, weather update, emergency hotlines, and important
dates.
During my first day, my cooperating teacher let me observe classes as I prepare for my upcoming
internship. On the second day, he let me join on their card giving and parent-teacher meeting. He
presented the awardees on our advisory class and I am so proud that my students are all honor students. I

can see how happy and proud their parents are. Entering the world of teaching is really far different
from being the student. Teaching my first lesson was hard but fulfilling. I got the chance to show my
skill and knowledge to teach young minds. I came to reflect on my self if teaching was really for me and
I could say that I love teaching and even love it more now that I am exposed to the real world of
teaching. I felt nervous the on the first part but eventually I manage to carry my lesson plan throughout
the discussion. I feel motivated when the students are really listening to what I say and I am happy
seeing their faces that they are enjoying my class. I noticed that I should change my strategies depending
on the level of the students that I teach. The first section/star section can really cope up easily with the
discussion while the other two sections could barely grasp the topics so what I do is to adjust my
teaching strategies for the sake of my learners. The succeeding days were the same. I conduct classes
and after which I let my students to have some interactive activities. I feel complete every time I see my
students enjoying what I’ve prepared for them. I could see them doing their best on their activities and
performances that makes me more motivated to make interactive/gamified activities. In this week also, I
conducted my first weekly demonstration and I am flattered with what my cooperating teacher told me
during our post conference. He told me that I’ve improve with short period of time and he could see that
I am now ready to the real world of teaching. Those simple words made me even more motivated to
teach. He also teaches me of some strategies on classroom management and delivering the lessons well.
On our last day of the week, I joined with their career guidance program wherein the students would
wear professional attires of their dream professions. I was talking to myself that I am once on their shoes
and now, I am here teaching them what I’ve learned throughout the years. We wrapped-up this week by

joining with the career guidance program with the grade 9 and 10 students showcasing their future
careers. This event was attended by different professional speakers.
Overall, my first week was a successful one. It was a mixture of excitement, challenge and
immense learning. I learned so much about teaching, about my students and about myself. It’s a lot of
hard work but seeing my learners learn and grow makes my journey fulfilling.
