1. Describe the importance of Pakistan's trades route in context of international trade?


Pakistan is placed in a highly strategic position on the world map. It is located in the
centre of the road and rail links between the countries of the Far East and Iran ,
turkey and Europe. Air and seaports if Karachi offer a central transit point between
the European and the Asian States. Pakistan’s warm water seaports remain
operative throughout the year .

2. What is meant by topography?

Topography is the study of the earth and the representation of both natural and artificial
features of land on a map. The study of Geography is fundamental to understanding the
Earth’s surface features and how they have changed over time.

3. Analyse the concept of dry ports.

Dry ports are also known as Indian ports. In Pakistan's urban areas, they are essential for
the transportation of goods for export. These facilities are given in key areas of the country.
Highways, railroads or even airplanes are some of the modes of transportation that
connect dry ports to sea ports. They enhance the efficiency of the export process and
reduce dependency on traditional seaports.

4. How can dry ports reduce dependents on conventional sea ports?

Dry ports provide facilities for the maintenance of the carriage vehicles and custom
clearance. Dry ports help relieve the burden of the seaports and facilitate importers and
exporters .

Dry ports are set up at a distance from seashore meant for the storage of goods. Imported
goods are first stored at dry ports and then dispatched to different destinations. Export
commodities are in the same manner stored and sometimes processed and graded in the
dry ports.

5. What is the importance of CPEC for Pakistan?

1. Employment Opportunities.

CPEC will provide opportunities of employment as government plans to develop skilled


manpower for construction and other tasks.

2. Infrastructure Development
CPEC involves building transportation networks, energy projects and special economic
zones contributing to long term development in the region.

3. Regional Connectivity.

CPEC is a framework of regional connectivity. By improving connectivity it can facilitate


trade between China and Pakistan as well as other countries in this region.

6. Why does the air transport is considered most expensive?

Air transport is costly due to high cost of jet fuel, strict safety regulations, complex aircraft
maintenance and airport fee. All these things contribute to the operational cost that are
passed on to the passengers in the form of higher ticket prices.

Air travel is considered to be the most expensive means of transportation as the


cost of maintaining aircraft is very high.

7. How can Pakistan increase its share of trade in intentional market suggest five points.

1-Pakistan need to cut backless on pointless rules to promote trade. It should be ensured
to make open and effective custom rules .

2. It is important to strength Trade facilitation centre and to train their staff members .
3. Political stability should be implemented by comprehensive policy making and
democratic government .
4. Anti corruption measures should be strengthened .
5. Technology should be promoted through collaborations with developed Nations and
international organisations.
