take. (I said i will switch on radar, as I do not want to take action on the basis of scanty
information.)

• He said okay first bearing 320, second bearing 340. (I said there is an appreciable change in
bearing so there should be no risk of collision, but i do not want to make assumptions on the

masters required CPA)
• Got angry and said dont make situation complex. Now vessel is 4 miles away. Action? (I said
as per rule15 she is giveway, i will give 5srb, and alter to stbd as per 17a2)
• He said vessel is 4 miles away, range of whistle is 2 miles, how will she listen. Tell me your
action. (I said alter to stbd as i cannot alter to port as per rule 17c)
• He said you did not give 1srb before altering, cannot make such errors. Didnt ask anymore
questions in F1.

• Told internal we can give him 2 and 3 but he will be more confident with 1 if he appears
again.

• How will you decide on safe speed if you have operational radar.

• Situation- u r doing course 000 you see a vessel on port bow doing 320. After 2mins heading
is 340. What will you get from this information.
• In RV vessel right ahead, radar operational but target not coming on radar. U hear the fog
signal of other vessel right ahead. Action.(I told everything and then he said u didn’t mention
about the making way fog signal)
• Some more easy situations with fishing vessel.( he was targeting rule 18)

question doesn't meant any sense as Appraisal was already done..but anyway )

• 5- asked about Parral indexing
• 6- showed me around 6-7 cards of trawler, dredger, CBD , Aground etc and asked about their
Day signal and Fog signal.
• 7 - showed various flags of Interco and asked their meaning ( P,G,Z F, M)

• And then he said we are clearing you for F1 and F3 . Keep learning...learning should never
stop.

• Bhai @~ has attended Ext:Vibhute Sir class and this question was asked to my friend also
by Ext: Pramod Kumar both want to hear a/co to any side is possible but stbd is only possible
depending on the range. Vimp to say this line, apart preferable to a/co to port and pass her
stern.
