Item 1
Mr. Nuludin after teaching for so many years at [Link] secondary school, mbale, decided to open up a
bakery using the little savings he had generated from the teaching profession. The bakery was dealing in
the making of bread, cakes, daddies and a wide variety of bakery products.

Task:

1. In a few sentences, describe the type of business which [Link] was operating. ( 10 marks)
2. b) What do you think are the advantages of operating such a form of business? (10 marks)

Item 2

You have been invited by the village leaders to be a chief guest in the opening up of ‘’BUGEMA SAVINGS
AND CREDIT COOPERATIVE SOCCIETY SACCO ‘’ in Mbale city.

Task:

In not more than 100 words, give a speech to the village people explaining to them about
‘’MEMBERSHIP IN SACCO, SAVINGS, CREDITS AND BENEFITS to the members ‘’ (20 MARKS)

b) As an entrepreneur, explain the benefits of effective record keeping in production .( 20 marks )

Item 3

DK and SONS enterprise is a newly developed business located in the middle of Kampala. It deals in the
manufacture of a wide range of products which include; (mattresses, clothes, soft drinks, drinking water,
soap, mention but a few.

Task:

As a student of entrepreneurship education, identify various channels of distribution to be used and the
types of products that suit each channel.

Item 4

Oscar is a s.6 vaccist who lives in Nakaseke district. He is in is vacation he has tried to
look for jobs to do but has been unsuccessful. He recently thought of the idea of
starting a business in order to earn some income. He then approached his parents to
request for some support and resources. His parents offered him a room to locate his
business and cash shs 5,000,000 in form of a loan which he will pay back when the
business breaks even. Oscar wo is not certain of what to do and which business to
undertake approached you as one of his trusted friends to seek for advise.
Task

As an Entrepreneurship Education Learner Guide Oscar to;

a) Identify a suitable and profitable type of business.


b) Formalize his business.
c) Assess the risks that may be involved in his business.

Item 5

The residents of your home area recently protested against the poor state of roads and
other services in the district. Most of them were very bitter and vowed not to continue
paying taxes anymore since they feel the government does not care about them. And
the taxes they pay are instead being misused and embezzled by the corrupt.

Task

Having studied the concept of Taxation;

a) What are the likely dangers of not paying taxes to your country?
b) How best can the government avoid such situations of residents protesting?
c) Mention the other sources of revenue for the government except taxes.

Item 6

Shanitah is business woman in Mukono and she owns a restaurant in Mukono town.
She has operated this business for five years now but the progress has been small, she
has failed to make enough profits. One the reasons is that she hardly markets her
business products, sells poor quality food, doesn’t have enough customer care and
poorly handles her business cash. Shanitah also has tax arears.

Task

a) Explain to Shanitah the benefits of carrying out marketing in business.


b) Which business ethics does Shanitah need to exhibit in order to attract more
customers in her business?
c) Prepare a marketing plan for her business.

Item 7

Haman is a successful businessman in Busia. He owns several businesses in Busia town and he
has steered the growth of his businesses for the past five years. He started with capital of shs
500,000 which he borrowed from a friend. He started with one business and worked so hard to
expand it and open up other businesses. He was a very determined and committed man, only
associates with successful businessmen, makes research and seeks for information through
reading newspapers. Recently he was recognized as the best Entrepreneur in Busia district. His
children go to expensive schools and he lives a comfortable life.

Task

a) List the entrepreneurial qualities that made Haman successful.

b) Explain the benefits Haman enjoys as a successful entrepreneur

Item 8

Bosco is a resident of Nsambwe Village in Mukono district and he is a learner in one of the
nearby secondary schools around. He also happens to a part of the entrepreneurship education
class in school. Bosco loves Entrepreneurship Education so much and would want to implement
whatever he studies in class. He wants to become a very wealthy man in the future after
studying Entrepreneurship Education in school and practicing it.

Task

a) Differentiate between terms Entrepreneurship Education and Entrepreneurship.

b) Explain the benefits of studying Entrepreneurship Education.
