MMP TRANSLATION : BY @ttwilvcies : CHAPTER 10
Two days later, after both of them helped search for and prepare the items for camping to
stargaze on Pha Phu Dao, in the evening, after the main meal was moved up earlier than usual,
they helped carry the items to the destination before returning again to wash up and change
clothes because they would have to stay overnight there. Since the path was not suitable for
traveling at night, they had to reach the destination before dark.
"Is this your sweater?" As soon as the door was opened, he encountered a smaller person who
had just come out of their own bedroom, wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt made of thin fabric. The
older person then asked, somewhat complainingly.
"Uh, why?"
"How can it be warm like this? Don't forget that we have to stay up there all night."
"We've already taken the sleeping bag, you know."
"And when you sleep under the stars outside the tent, won't you freeze to death first?" Thap
scolded before turning back into the room. It didn't take long for him to come back out with a
light cream-colored sweater.
"Put it on top to keep warm."
Without saying a word, Thap put on his own sweater over the small person's body, who could
only stand there, looking up at the actions of the person in front of him with a stunned
expression. Then, his big round eyes lowered and saw that the owner was also wearing a
similarly designed sweater, but Thap's was light gray.
As if they were matching shirts...
"When evening came, he pulled up the hood from the back and put it on," he said while
demonstrating it as if he were a salesperson, leaving the small person only able to frown. "The
dew here is strong. I'm afraid you might get sick."
"I know, I know," even though I said that, it doesn't mean I won't accept it. I can feel the good
intentions being sent my way.
In pulled up the front zipper of the shirt for mobility, but in Thap's eyes, it looked like the other
person was a child who had stolen their father's shirt to wear. Due to the size and height
difference between the two, Thap couldn't help but smile before walking downstairs to hide the
smile that was getting wider and wider.
Even though In's thoughts seem more mature than his age due to the responsibilities he has to
bear, Thap sees that the other party still has childish habits. For example, just like earlier when
he didn't take care of himself much, and it has happened several times to the point where he
has to become the one who checks everything and organizes everything for him.
Ten minutes later, the same bicycle was pedaled out from the little house again, heading
towards Pha Phu Dao, where they had already set up their tent about an hour ago. As the
journey up here became more familiar, it seemed that the distance, which once felt far, was no
longer much of an obstacle.
The sky above is gradually dimming, signaling that nightfall is approaching soon. Two small
electric lanterns have been placed to prepare for use. A thin mat has been laid out in front of the
tent so they can lie down and stargaze without straining their necks. Fortunately, this cliff is not
very large and is not connected to dense forests, so there is not much concern about danger
from wild animals. Additionally, the location is still close to the community. Besides Phu Dao
village, the surrounding area of this mountain is also home to several other villages.
"In the past, my parents used to bring me here to lie down and watch the stars often," In
recounted, as he lowered himself onto the shirt. Meanwhile, Thap placed the lantern in the
corner of the mat to prevent the place from becoming too dark, then walked over and sat down
beside him.
"Are you going to be cranky again?" The sharp eyes turned to look at the person beside him to
observe their reaction, but instead, he heard a clear, cheerful laugh in response.
"I'm just telling you because I miss you."
"And if one day we are apart, will you talk about me to others because you miss me?" This time,
the deep voice asked without the playful tone from before. When In turned to look, he found that
the speaker was waiting for an answer.
"Well... I guess... I miss you," the listener's lips curled into a smile, and immediately, their big
round eyes became clearly visible.
Thap leaned down on the ground and used an unrolled sleeping bag as a pillow to support his
head when he saw the sky darkening completely. In winter, darkness comes sooner than ever.
Before slapping down on another empty sleeping bag, In glanced at it for a moment and then
lay down on it.
"That's strange too," the deep voice beside him called, drawing his round eyes from the sky
above to the owner of the voice instead. "Even though I'm currently running for my life, I feel at
ease in a way I haven't felt in a long time."
"Is it really that good?" the person being asked replied with a hint of disbelief. "It must be
because this place is peaceful, the people are friendly, and the weather is pleasantly cool."
"Probably," Thap said, shifting his gaze to the small person. When their eyes met, the other
person turned back to look at the sky as before.
"I finally understand why my parents like this place so much. Even for me, just coming here
once a year, when I go back to Bangkok, I have the energy to study and work, as if my body has
been fully recharged."
"And if I go back and want to come charge the battery as you said, what should I do?"
"What's so hard about it? You already know the way to this village, don't you?" In said, turning
around with a frown.
"That's not difficult, but what's difficult is where I'm going to sleep."
"Well, at my house..." In replied quickly, with a feeling deep inside that hadn't been thought
through, until he realized that it had turned into an invitation. Despite having insisted earlier that
there probably wouldn't be another chance to talk again.
"I said it, so I won't take it back. I'm just as stubborn as you are," the deep voice teased, causing
the person being accused of being stubborn to shoot a glare in response.
"You're so lazy that when the time comes, it'll be you who won't show up," the listener's thick
eyebrows raised in confusion. "Don't you remember that when I read your fortune, soon you'll
have good news for your mother?"
"That's true," he said, then chuckled softly, making the petite person look at him with annoyance.
"But I can't think about this alone. It also depends on him... whether he thinks the same as I do."
"Someone like you probably doesn't get their heart broken often, right?"
"You think so?"
"Um," even though he responded vaguely, In knew well that in his mind he was thinking about
the other person's habits. Because if he set aside the rude remarks he had fully experienced,
the rest was too good for anyone to dare refuse.
"Actually, the reason I was dumped by my ex-boyfriend was because he believed in astrology
and thought we weren't compatible. Deep down, I didn't really believe it was the reason he left
me, but at that time, I was both sad and angry, and it has carried over to now."
"I understand. That's why I don't want to tell anyone that I'm a fortune teller. It's not that I'm not
proud of my profession, but I don't want to deal with people who have biases like you."
Thap laughed, knowing very well how much trouble he had caused before.
"When I had been dating him for about two years, he was approached to become a singer and
ended up doing so well that they couldn't let the news slip out that he had a boyfriend, and
moreover, that it was a guy."
In, who had just learned about this, could only look at the storyteller with a surprised expression.
But it wasn't because he felt bad or anything; he just couldn't believe that Thap would share so
many personal stories with him.
The petite person could sense the voice tinged with sadness, not knowing what the other party
was feeling bad about. Although love is no longer restricted by gender as it once was, in reality,
there still exists a thin wall that can grow larger when such stories are revealed. And if that
person is a public figure, many might accept them, but no one knows if you will be the lucky
one.
It's sad that... they didn't do anything wrong at all.
And love is a matter of two people...
But there are many people who keep judging without any sense of fairness.
"And your parents..."
"It's not easy to make them accept me, but fortunately, in my house... my mother is in charge."
Both the storyteller and the listener laughed, as In could somewhat guess the person's
character even though they had only met once. "You understand things more easily than I
thought. Even though you mostly stay at home, you constantly follow the news through various
media, which makes you understand the ever-changing world."
"So, did your father agree to listen to your mother?"
"At first, he wouldn't agree. You should know that he is a soldier," In replied under his breath.
"So, my mother threatened that if he didn't accept and kept forcing me, she would take the
children and run away with them, leaving my father all alone."
"Very decisive," In sincerely praised, which made Thap smile in response.
"But after that, it took a long time for us to talk and understand each other before my dad truly
accepted, understood, and opened up about this."
"But your mother is amazing. Plus, she even asked me to read your fortune because she wants
you to find a partner soon."
"Because lately I've been so focused on work that I hardly have time for anything else, my mom
wants someone to pull me out of that monotonous life." The more he listened, the more
impressed he was with a mother's perspective. Initially, he thought adults just wanted to see
their children settle down and start a family.
"If you believe that I can predict the future accurately, it won't be long now," In said, changing his
position to lie on his arms and resting his head on his palms to get a better look at the speaker.
However, this direct gaze made the person being looked at feel nervous, so he tried to make
conversation to ease the awkwardness. "So, your ex is still a singer, right?"
"You should know him, right?" The listener's eyebrows raised, their big round eyes sparkling
with excitement. "His name is Wan...."
"Wan Warayu, the one who just won the Popular Male Artist of the Year award last year?" the
small person asked in surprise, turning to look at the speaker with keen interest, waiting for an
answer.
"Why are you so excited?" he asked with a laugh when he saw the other person's expression.
"I really like his songs, you know? It's a pity... you shouldn't break up with him. Otherwise, I
would have asked for his autograph."
"If I hadn't broken up with him, I might not be here with you."
Silence descended, while the two pairs of eyes continued to gaze at each other, one trying to
convey a message, but the other seemed to understand yet pretended not to.
"Well, that's good. That means you don't have to run for your life to get here."
"But if I had to choose... I would choose to keep it the same as before."
In pressed his lips tightly before turning his body to face the sky, where the stars of all sizes
were now shining brightly. His big round eyes stared as if he had never seen the scene before,
seemingly wanting to abruptly end the previous conversation.
Thap could only smile before lying down in the same position again. This time, his sharp eyes
had the opportunity to clearly see the scene in the sky. The light from the city lights at night
could not compare to the light from the stars that nature had meticulously created. It was as if
the sky was a deep indigo silk fabric sprinkled with various beautiful diamonds.
"I've never seen so many stars before."
"If we're lucky, we'll see shooting stars today," In said in a flat tone, causing Thap to turn and
look at him for a moment before refocusing his gaze on the same spot to wait for the shooting
stars again. "Actually, I did some research before coming here and intended to watch the
shooting stars."
"I thought you invited me because you wanted to comfort me," he said with a resigned tone,
because no matter what, it wouldn't be easy to make In change from hate to love.
"Well, do you feel better now?" The question that came back made Thap pause because it
meant that what he understood was not wrong. The young man's lips curled into a smile, and
his heart swelled with joy.
"They say that if you make a wish on a shooting star, your wish will come true."
"I can't believe I heard that coming from you," In said, then chuckled softly. On the other hand,
Thap smiled casually because he himself had been surprised several times by his own actions
that were different from his usual self.
"And what will you ask for?"
"Who would tell that to anyone? It might not come to be true." In said irritably before Thap
nodded in agreement, as he had heard such stories before. "But what do you want to ask?"
Thap flicked his fingers lightly on the forehead of the small person, but he cried out as if his skull
was about to crack. "Didn't you say not to tell anyone? So why are you asking me?"
"I just want to know," In wiped his forehead with a sulky face while still not taking his eyes off the
sky. As soon as he saw a streak of light, he quickly nudged the person beside him. "Hey, look! A
shooting star!"
Without hesitation, they quickly closed their eyes because it is said that one must hurry to make
a wish before its light fades away before reaching the destination. Thap smiled slightly upon
seeing the other person's childlike demeanor, and he too slowly closed his eyes, making a wish
in his heart at the same time. Little did they know that both of them were wishing upon the same
star...
I wish to be happy like this every day...
The watch on Thap's wrist indicated it was almost midnight. They had been lying under the stars
for a long time, and it was the first time they had opened up and shared so much about
themselves. When the smaller person yawned for the third time, Thap realized it was well past
the other person's usual bedtime.
"Are you sleepy?"
In nodded in agreement as Thap propped himself up to sit. The small arms of the person still
lying down were raised, intending for the taller one to pull him up. Laziness was taking its toll.
Thap slowly shook his head at the sight before taking the slender hand to help him sit up, still
looking drowsy.
But then, when his senses fully returned, he looked at the tent that was zipped up tightly and
just realized that tonight they had to sleep next to each other in a limited space. Even though
they didn't have to sleep on top of each other, it was still closer than anything that had ever
happened before.
"What are you daydreaming about? Aren't you going to sleep?" The deep voice called, making
the big round eyes shift their gaze from the tent to the person asking.
"Sleepy," In quickly replied while trying to reassure himself that even though his heart tends to
race unexpectedly when he's near the other person lately, it shouldn't be more dangerous than
that. Just lying next to each other... right?
The sleeping bags, spread out and used as blankets, covered both of them, each with one. And
even though the earlier drowsiness had almost made their eyes close, now they were both too
wide awake to fall asleep. Instead of hearing the sound of steady breathing, they heard the
sound of their hearts racing, fearing that the person next to them would hear it more than
anything else.
Even though it might have been a long time since the last love Thap had experienced, the
young man was confident that back then, even during his teenage years, he didn't feel as
nervous as he did now.
It's no different from In, who used to only have a crush or secretly like someone. But now, the
feelings that have arisen are so clear that he doesn't dare to seriously ask himself what they
are. Because he knows that if he takes a moment to reflect on his thoughts now, the answer will
definitely be something that makes him want to disappear anywhere at this moment.
"Are you asleep yet?" In asked amidst the silence.
"And why aren't you sleeping yet?"
"It's strange because usually I sleep alone all the time."
"Did I make you uncomfortable?"
"No, no," even though he was lying down, In still shook his head and answered to show that he
wasn't thinking what the other person was implying. Upon hearing this, Thap smiled with relief.
"If that's the case, just close your eyes and don't worry about what I might do to you," Thap
thought that when he mentioned he liked men, the small person might become quite concerned
about it.
"I'm not worried about that at all because I like men too," the sentence he heard made Thap turn
his body to lie on his side, hoping to clearly see the face of the speaker. Fortunately, the light
from the electric lantern outside shone through, allowing him to see clearly. "You might need to
worry about yourself more. Who knows, if I start sleepwalking, I might end up assaulting you."
A deep laugh echoed as his sharp gaze fell upon the small person, filled with affection. "If that's
the case, I won't run away anywhere."
"Don't joke around, have you ever heard that you shouldn't seek wisdom from a drunk person
and shouldn't take a sleepwalker seriously?"
"I'm not joking. Just looking into my eyes, you can tell I'm serious," his deep voice, slightly
hoarse, said. In, forgetting himself, turned on his side to look into those eyes more clearly. And
there was no hint of joking, just as he had said. They lay there staring into each other's eyes for
a long time, unaware, until the deep voice broke the silence, "Can I kiss you?"
Her big round eyes widened, "Who asks about these things, you!"
"That means you're not denying it," Thap smirked triumphantly.
In was frozen, unaware that the tall figure was moving closer and closer, until warm breath
brushed against the tip of her nose. Strong arms wrapped around her slender waist, pulling him
closer. Even though he should have pushed him away, his eyelids slowly closed, as if signaling
the other person that he was waiting to receive that touch.
The warm lips slowly pressed against the thin lips, lingering for a moment as if wanting to leave
a clear mark right there. Then, Thap slowly savored the soft part of the other person, taking his
time. Before long, the smaller person began to learn and respond to his kiss, albeit still a bit
clumsily. But that made Thap pleased, thinking he might be the first to possess these lips. As a
result, his strong arms tightened around the smaller person. Before In could react, revealing his
lips, Thap took the opportunity to send his warm tongue into the mouth, exploring and
intertwining, causing the smaller person to breathe heavily like never before. Soft moans arose
in protest of the interrupted breath. Thap then withdrew his lips, hoping the other person could
catch their breath and fill their lungs with air.
But it wasn't long before he closed it again. The initial sweetness turned into intensity when
Thap wouldn't let In go free. Until In's delicate hand had to push against the strong chest in a
warning manner. At that moment, the tall figure realized he was taking full advantage of the
other person.
"Where did your hunger come from?" In asked with a frown before hearing the hungry person
laugh in response. The small person then turned to the other side to hide their nervousness and
trembling voice.
"In..."
"Don't say anything, just sleep!"
The person was instructed to smile faintly while staring at the small back before slowly closing
their eyes as per the command received, along with the feelings that had been ambiguous
before becoming clearer and clearer. Their request to leave like that was not out of a desire to
take advantage or exploit.
He is not comparing himself to anyone, but deep down, he wants to prove his own feelings.
Because once his hesitation turns into certainty, he will be able to move forward fully without
worrying about anything else.
And for heaven's sake...
It's not just that he understands his own feelings, but In is driving him crazy to the point of
madness!
