A Foundation guard on patrol duty is taking a stroll in his assigned area, the metal boots

crunching under the foot of snow that has settled on the dirt path. He's weary and frigid, having
taken an 8 hour shift. His breath is visible in the -23 F° night. He's been walking back and forth
and back and forth for the whole day. A shroud of snow hides the site from the ignorant world,
the guard can barely make out one end of the dirt path to the other. The complex he is
protecting is a tiny blip on the map, and he is one out of only 50 stationed at the site. Area - 354,
the complex surrounding SCP - 354, is a record holder for the least populated foundation site,
having long been forgotten in favor of other, larger anomalous threats. It sits in a pit, serving as
a natural barrier between the site and the outside. Funding was stomped into the ground 6
meters deep by the O5 Council, to the point where men have to use money from their own
paycheck, their beloved, hard earned paycheck, to purchase bullets for the best gun the Site
Director can get for them with the money he has, a G18. A small form sidearm, a baby
compared to the standard issue P90, given to all Foundation Security Personnel in sites across
the world. The area is so defunded that the Director couldn't afford any protection for the
generator of the site; it sits at the opposite end of the dirt path, bare and out in the world. It
sticks out like a sore thumb against the natural landscape, dotted by guard towers and old
defenses, remnants of the site's glory days, now rusted out by age and weather. The only thing
from back then that still functions is a pipe system, a key item from the much earlier attempt to
drain out the lake. Everything else is destroyed from neglect, forgotten. Manned turrets,
machines that serve an unknown purpose, they all sit in the field, waiting to be tended to. The
site in its glory days used to be a massive, complicated structure, with solid steel 10 meter high
walls and dedicated SD/ScD Departments, having to deal with something new coming out the
lake every week. An MTF was always on call, ready to respond in a relatively short time.
However, when SCP - 354 stopped sending out anomalous entities from its banks, the O5, in a
unanimous decision, siphoned off men and money, no longer seeing any need to dedicate these
many resources to an inactive lake. Most of the old defenses were taken down to be dedicated
to other projects. Now, all the guardsmen are motivated by the meager paycheck, which is how
Serpent's Hand members, in apprehensive cooperation with the Chaos Insurgency, infiltrated
the area 6 months before modern day. The 2 men sent to break in brought with them a special
mixture of anomalous material, giving the sentient Red Lake a new life, and a new goal. Their
forced bodily donation to the Lake, by the Lake, would serve as a template for the Red Lake to
clone and convert to it's new goal. 6 months later, we visit modern day.

The Foundation Guard on patrol duty takes a moment to sit down on a hill, his legs feel like
they've been thrown into the femur breaker twice over, contemplating whether or not freezing his
fingers off was worth the pay. As he turns his fatigued eyes towards the lake, he spots
something on the surface. Is that.. movement? Then, an arm breaks the surface. It's wet and
deep red, saturated with boiling blood. The steam is visible through the snowy cloak of the night.
Then, a head. It's set of 4 eyes stares straight through the guard's soul, bright and evil. It's
staring straight past the guard, and straight at the generator. It has been instilled with a new
goal by its new master, the Red Lake. 'Destroy the generator, kill everyone' are the only 2
sentences that repeat in its twisted mind. The creature crawls out of the lake, settling on the
snowbed. The snow around it crumbles and melts. This animal, and the new lake, are driven
forward by hate. The Lake is now spiteful of the Foundation's attempts to contain it. It wants to
get its independence back, back 30 years ago, where it was free to live, free to be free. The
guard has clicked a button, signaling a request for backup, but for now he's on his own. The
creature goes upright, and slowly walks towards the traumatized guard, he's a new recruit who
was only hired the day before. The walker slowly speeds up until it is at sprinting speed,
meanwhile the recruit is frozen in shock. His training only kicks in when the walker is a mere foot
away from his face, the creature's rage clearly visible in its eyes. The recruit uses his pistol butt
to knock the creature down, and mag dumps the entire body. He's driven by fear and the want to
survive. Within a few seconds, the walker is peppered with bullet holes, a pool of blood
surrounding it. He stands in shock at what just happened, he was told the lake was inactive for
years. The ugly smell of iron fills the recruit's nose, and as he thinks about what just happened,
a blood red fist knocks him down to fall face first into the red snow. The backup team, still
making their way to the lake, hear a shriek of pure horror, cut off by the sound of bone making
away for strength and anger, which is drowned out by the now blowing snow. The team arrives
just as they see the creature beating a dead horse of a corpse. It is accompanied by a horde of
more of its kind, and a new kind of war has begun, kicked off by a hail of lead, and a sea of red.

Area - 354 now finds itself in the middle of a major breach, leading to the deployment of Elite
AMTF units to assist the already demoralized guards. In the coming days, the O5 Council will
reluctantly contact the Global Occult Coalition for assistance, and the GOC are more than
happy to provide assistance, considering the new capabilities of the Red Lake. They are to be of
great assistance in this battle, taking into account their experience with eliminating anomalies,
or Threat Entities, as they call it. Many unique faces show up to the battle, including an MTF
Commander, who has been sent out on O5 orders as a test. His record shows that he's barely
seen any combat in his decades long career, a bureaucrat. And so the Council decided to see if
this Commander was willing to work for his position. A former Chaos Insurgent, abandoned by
his men in an earlier raid on the glory days Area - 354. He was a foundation mole, but got
converted to the Insurgency's goals during his stay. Eventually, his Insurgent friends found out
about his former mole position, and he was left for dead during the first raid on Area - 354, when
it was in its glory days state. Supported by a sympathetic local SD Captain to rejoin the
foundation, his career is being stalked by Internal Security Agents, each and every decision
relating to him is a days long debate by ISD heads, thanks to him betraying the foundation for a
period of time. Lastly, the Unusual Incidents Unit found out about the event, and was authorized
by the SCPF and the GOC (With convincing from the O5) to send a small handful of agents
inside the site to assist. Back to the lake, it throws out a good amount of trump cards, starting
with the Brute. Massive, tanky, and out for blood, it was made by taking the walker template and
throwing on more blood and rock until it became so dense that most bullets simply bounced off
the skin. Instead of having a heart of rock, it actually uses a nuclear reaction to power its every
move, which is how it sends out precise beams of ionizing radiation towards personnel.
Insurgent moles, hidden among the response forces sent in from the outside world, sent out
coded messages to a handful of nearby insurgent cells in order to coordinate an assault on the
complex. They would use an old, deteriorating series of tunnels in order to access the area. The
main infantry units made up the majority of the assault force, basic conscripts. The scouts were
composed of decade long veterans, and were given stolen advanced foundation weaponry.
Lastly, the shield units. They are also conscripts, but are tasked with protecting the others from
fire with their older riot shields. After a drawn out firefight, the SCPF would reign victorious after
the battle, though not without heavy casualties, and the surprise visit from the scouts and a
taste of their own medicine. The lake would use the duration of the firefight to build up energy in
order to send out even more monsters. Quite literally in a sense, as the lake debuts the Bolt, an
electrical entity. However, the lake has also been preparing a new kind of weapon. It has
learned from observing the firefight, and it's ready to try out a new kind of monster. The GRU - P
Agents. Humans, but.. off. They are made of the same blood of rage and heart of stone that the
other monsters are made of. The AK47s are the same, only mimics of their wood and metal
counterpart. These are only physical mimics of a human body, they are still dumb as a bag of
rocks, so it's relatively easy for the SCPF to defeat this new threat. The Lake, however, learns
and adapts, synthesizing different creatures and equipment for those creatures. The riot is a
fast, tanky entity, whose armor behaves like a higher tier protective suit. It can absorb a wide
variety of bullets, even though it's still made of water and rock. The exploder is a form of the
normal, numerous walkers. It is filled with a sort of gas bag that can hold in extremely high
pressures. When the wall of this bag is penetrated, the exploder.. Explodes, sending guts, and
in some cases, a green goo out to cover the surrounding area. And then there's the ghost. The
lake's take on the concept of a poltergeist, each of the green balls on its skin have the capability
to bend reality. When they are disturbed in any way, the ghost is sent to an alternate dimension,
though its attacks can travel dimensions and harm personnel just the same, despite
disappearing from their POV. And lastly, Bolty. Bolty was created by taking a bolt and
supercharging it with absurd amounts of energy, frying any bullets that touch its skin. It has so
much electricity in its body that it alters the surrounding weather, summoning a lightning storm.
After at least a month of constant combat, the research team at the site have finished creating
their super substance, which will make the lake braindead, therefore taking away the lake's
sentience. Due to no longer having sentience, it will become a regular lake. When enough is
poured in, the blood red color will disappear from the water, and Area 354 will be safe once
again.

A team of the higher ranked field personnel are brought inside the safehouse, into a private
space. The MTF Commander and his Lieutenants, the SD Captain and his sergeants, and the
few unique faces of Delta and the small squad of 4 UIU Agents all are invited. A tiny box with a
newly installed guided missile system, given by the O5 council when they heard of the terrible
breach. There, the Site Director gives them the brief, and a plan. After 10 minutes, each man
walks out of the missile command center, and rallies their squads. Today will mark the demise of
the Red Lake. When these brave souls are done, only half will come out alive, walking out of the
greatest war the Foundation has ever seen, and all hidden away from the eyes of the blissfully
ignorant public.

Timeline
1996, August 27th - Air Canada Flight 354 goes down in northern Canada, thanks to a team of
onboard terrorists. They couldn't control the plane, and it fell out of the sky. All the passangers
were making one last vacation spot visit to end their summer, but the terrorists, whether they
meant it or not, had a special destination in mind for the passangers. The small handful of
survivors (no terrorists here) that landed in a northern segment of Wood Buffallo National Park
wander aimlessly until they discover the free SCP - 354, still being hunted down by the
Foundation. After seeing the pool of blood, they run in a random direction, and don't stop until
they hit a Ranger Station. There, the SCPF intercept radio communications between rangers
about a blood pool, assumed to be the survivors becoming delirious by the rangers. But the
Foundation knows better. It always knew better than the rest of the world.

1997, January 17th - A search team affiliated with the SCPF pinpoints the location of the newly
designated SCP - 354, and Watch Station Epsilon - 38 was set up to observe the pond and hide
it from any public eyes. A research team was sent with them, and many interesting discoveries
were made, such as the blood pond doesn't have a bottom, at least one that can be located with
laser range finders. Or that the blood pond doesn't even have a defined bank, the blood mixing
in with the soil and hardening near the edges. Epsilon - 38 wouldn't even finish the year, as the
first of many creatures to be birthed from the lake made its debut.

1997, June 8th - A radio operator attempts to make contact with Epsilon - 38 at the usual check
- in time. No response, or at least one that he would like. Instead of a human voice, all he could
hear was concrete crumbling, and the impacts of metal against metal. Shortly after this, all
communication was lost. An MTF team was dispatched to investigate, and found that some sort
of creature killed each and every man in the watch station, all 26. The official files claim that it
was a large bat, but this was done to hide the full truth from any L2 personnel that had access to
the file. The Lake was sentient from the very beginning, and it didn't appreciate being isolated
from the world. It would free itself using what information it could gather from observing its
captors, and it sent out what can only be described as a giant RCU unit, armed with a high - end
vest, bullet resistant clothing, riot helmet, everything. Empowered with extreme strength,
endurance, and speed, it tore up not only the personnel, but the watch station and the fence
itself. By the time the MTF unit arrived, all they found was a pile of rubble, and a length of rebar
getting snapped like a toothpick by the mutant RCU, before it threw both pieces at the incoming
attack copter like Surface - to - Air missiles. The chopper fell back, landed at a further location
and unloaded its supplies and manpower, just before a full length piece of rebar fell from the sky
and pinned it to the ground, killing the pilot in the process. The MTF Team managed to take
down the entity with mounted machine guns, but this was only the beginning for the lake. It was
already planning its next move to try and gain back its freedom. The incident was given the
designation of 354 - 3a 'Evil Brother'. Access to this file is only to be granted to Level 4
Personnel.
1999, January 1st - A permanent security compound around SCP - 354 has just been
constructed, and it is the first of two full sized sites to be installed around SCP - 354. The very
same day construction was finished and personnel moved in to occupy it, the lake sent out
another type of monster. The files are correct about this one, it was a bulletproof polar bear
sized echidna. However, the files leave out the fact that this was the Lake's revision on the
original mutant RCU 'Evil Brother.' This monster traded speed and strength for the ability to
shave off each and every type of bullet that mankind had produced. 9mm, 7.62, .50 cal, maybe
even Armor - Piercing rounds from an old 1950s navy turret. Due to the reduced strength, this
creature did not have anywhere near the same structure - destroying capability that its
predecessor had, and could not break through the new solid steel walls. This monster was put
down with a store of low grade napalm the area had in its storehouse, and as always, the Lake
took notes. It always observes what's happening around it, and it always learns in the process.

2000, February 28th - Learning what it learned from how the last monster it released from its
banks was terminated, the Lake was ready to reveal its new weapon. This incident was fully
redacted from the official files on the lake, with good reason. No hint of the incident's existence
was placed into the file on SCP - 354. No damage report, no personnel loss report, not even a
standard [REDACTED] tag. What emerged from the banks this time around could only be given
the name 'Hellfire'. Burning at temperatures higher than what any thermometer on site had the
capability of defining, the humanoid could throw out balls of the lake's version of napalm, which
could burn as hot as the surface of the sun according to the damage caused by them. Each
fireball could incinerate everything around it in a 1 meter radius, and set on fire material in a
much larger radius. There was no firefight, as soon as the creature emerged, it immediately
started burning everything in sight. Each and every molecule of the steel walls melted into slag,
and the majority of that slag was then turned to ash. 90% of all personnel stationed at the site
perished in one of the worst ways possible. 180 people. All burned to death, all cremated by the
anomalous, slowly, painfully. The creature, however, stayed at the lake for unknown reasons.
Maybe it views the fire around it as a home. Either way, the Foundation employed the use of an
A - 10 Warthog, armed with a powerful rapid - fire forward GAU - 8 Avenger cannon, firing at
3900 RPM and firing shots the side of a redbull can. Not given any protection by the Lake, the
burning animal perished in a torrential rain of lead. The entire event was given the designation
354 - 1b 'Hellfire.' The document is only for the eyes of the O5.

2002, February 28th - 2 years exactly after Incident 354 - 1b 'Hellfire', which is only for the eyes
of the O5, the site was fully rebuilt, with a few improvements while the Foundation had the
opportunity. Instead of pure steel, the walls were replaced with a concrete + rebar composite
material. Spaces were added for mechanized machinery, many of which served an unknown
purpose. By this time, the Lake was again experimenting with what monsters it could send out
to earn back its freedom. In this case, it was a thing. A perfect sphere of unknown metal, this
thing attained levitation and had visible electric energy on its surface. Using this energy, the
sphere could direct a fatal amount of energy towards personnel like a lightning bolt. Seeing that
bullets ricochet off the surface, the Head Researcher took a sledgehammer, a leftover from the
day's construction, and knocked the object straight into the ground. It vibrated immensely shortly
after, and seconds later, detonated like an anti tank mine. The Head Researcher lost one of his
eyes because of this, and was given the Foundation's equivalent of a Medal of Honor. Despite
the handicap, he continued his research at the site.

2002, April 5th - Realizing that explosions were a thing, the lake decided to exploit the concept,
making another template of a humanoid, except giving it the power to explode with the strength
of a missile, using an extreme amount of air pressure. That morning, 3 of these extremely
explosive humanoids emerged from the lake, and were shot on sight by local security forces.
However, having the strength to explode like missiles, the 3 living bombs put very large holes
into the surrounding ground, allowing the Lake to expand it's banks. Expecting the 3 entities to
be the only thing the Lake would send out for at least the next couple months, the security
forces relaxed and only a small handful of patrols were out that night. At 11:46 PM, every person
on the site, who were in the middle of sleeping, were awoken by what sounded like a nuclear
bomb. Sentries woke up from their naps to see multiple giant, gaping holes in the North, East,
and West walls. Each had a diameter of 15 meters. However, the southern part of the complex
contained the majority of the buildings on the site, including the residential sector, which was the
innermost sector. There was no wall protecting it. A fatal flaw in the site's design. The Sentries
looked to the south, and to their horror, found a hole straight in the side of one of the residential
buildings. The residential building which held all the private quarters of the entire site. 43
bedrooms were lost in the incident, along with their 43 souls. The lake sent out handfuls of the
walking bombs for the next 30 minutes, but all were terminated the moment a single arm broke
the surface. Every monster that is sent out, the lake grows larger. And every day it is contained,
the more malicious it grows. Due to the nature of this incident, mass destruction, similar to 354 -
3a, it was redacted from official files, though this time Level 4 Personnel could view these files,
as opposed to the O5 only with 354 - 1b. This incident was given the designation 354 - 1c
'Cluster Bombs'.

2003, January 22nd - It was discovered by a region manager that a number of Chaos
Insurgency Moles were present at the site surrounding SCP - 354, and a team of Internal
Security Agents were dispatched to investigate. However, another mole that got close to the
manager found out about the ISD team heading for 354, and they sounded the alarm to nearby
Insurgent Cells that now was the time for an attack on 354. An assault team was assembled,
featuring a Death Squad that would land the killing blow with a flank. Under the cover of the
Canadian Wilderness, a division 100 strong made its way to SCP - 354. Tunneling their way
through the natural walls surrounding 354, C4 was used to detonate the remaining bits of land
to land a surprise attack on the site. They came from 3 directions, 40 men in each direction, all
making their way to the building that held the site’s generator. If that went down, the rest of the
site would follow. Meanwhile, the death squad would push from behind the site of battle to
sandwich foundation forces in between Insurgents. However, they were spotted by sentries that
were covering the flanks of the Foundation forces, and the Death Squad’s cover was blown.
Thanks to this, and the foundation’s superiority in numbers, a contingent of men was siphoned
off from the main battlefront to keep the scouts distracted. By the time MTF backup arrived, the
battle was already won. Meanwhile, the Lake sat there, begging for the Insurgents to set it free
by destroying the generator. Angered by their defeat, a set of tentacles broke the surface of its
boiling blood, snatching up multiple personnel and starting a multiple hour long fight, which was
only so long because Foundation forces were weakened from the Insurgent Assault. By the time
the next day hit, the tentacles were put down, and the site was able to relax after surviving both
an anomalous and a human threat. After the threats were confirmed to be eliminated, ISD
agents moved in and took in 16 confirmed moles, though another 3 were able to evade arrest by
cleaning up each and every piece of evidence that would make them out to be a mole. These 3
individuals will be very important later on.

[REDACTED] (2005, December 4th) - It was decided that a termination attempt would be made
on the lake by an acting Head Scientist, Dr. [REDACTED]. The original Head Scientist from the
electric ball event, Dr. [REDACTED], went on leave. The acting head decided that the lake was
spitting out too many entities to be left alive. He decided that a pipe system would be installed to
drain the pool as much as possible. This was done because the banks grew out 3 times what
they were when the Lake was first contained, partially because of the 'Cluster Bombs' incident.
The Lake stopped sending out monsters to build up energy for the last 3 years, and now that it
was under threat, and with leftover anger from the previous Insurgent Assault, it was ready to
unveil one of the most dangerous entities it would ever release. The Lake decided to make yet
another revision to the original 'Evil Brother' creature. This time, instead of focusing on just one
thing, this creature was good at everything. The Lake dedicated a lot of energy and thought to
this mechanized war machine. The entity possessed a combination of the other creature's
properties the lake earlier sent out, having the ranged capabilities of the metal sphere in a held
laser rifle, the physical strength of 'Evil Brother', the explosive capabilities of 'Cluster Bombs' in
its missile pods, a weaker version of the arsonist abilities of 'Hellfire' in the shoulder mounted
flamethrower, some agility in a jetpack, and the tankiness of the bear due to being bulletproof,
thermal resistant, and explosive resistant. The moment the death machine stepped out, it
immediately targeted the research and E&T personnel operating the pumps that would hurt its
master. After that, it next targeted the people the Lake also held responsible for its confinement.
Each and every Sentry tower was reduced to a pile of smoldering ash by a hail of missiles. Out
of the 300 new inhabitants, only 50 ever escaped. The war machine stayed back and wiped the
site off the face of the earth. When it was done, nothing remained. Not a single brick of
concrete, not a single drop of blood. The Lake was now free, for the first time in years. Satisfied
with being out in the wild again, it called back the death machine after evidence of the previous
site was vaporized. The banks shrunk to the original size, the Lake was happy, it got its way. For
now.

2005, December 8th - The O5 Council heard of the events that took place at the former Site -
354, and decided that research on the Lake was no longer a priority. A new complex started
construction around SCP - 354, with plans to focus not on research, but more on containment.
The walls were extended and strengthened, with the only way in and out of the site, dubbed
Area - 354, being 3 helipads. 2 on the buildings within the walls, and one on the ground.
Automated turrets were in the plans of construction, which could fire all types of ammunition.
Armor Piercing, High Explosive, Incendiary, these were to be of great assistance to the security
teams in terminating any and every entity the lake spits out. The plans were massive, and the
Lake was not having it. It was not about to lose its sweet, sweet freedom, just 4 days after
earning it with its hard work, blood, and sweat. This would be the last creature to exit the lake
before Incident 354 - 3d ‘The War’, which would take place 15 years later. As soon as the first
segment of wall was completed, the lake let loose what witnesses could only call ‘a giant,
upright crocodile.’ No turret foundations were laid yet, but before the creation could make its
way to the first wall segment, a strange rumbling sound started coming out from the forest.
Then, a bang that rattled the ground and knocked down the creation. Out of the forest came a
tank, then another, and another. To make sure something like this didn’t happen, the O5
assigned a heavy weapons division of AMTF NU - 7 ‘Hammer Down’ to protect the construction
crew, which they were not aware of. Hammer Down units set up in the forest surrounding the
Lake, waiting for a moment such as this. After a short barrage of tank shell after tank shell, the
creation fell, and the Lake’s plans had been foiled yet again by the Foundation.

2005, December 8th to 2006, May 3rd - Construction continued around the Lake to secure it,
and it had no other plans to break out. It burned out, gave up, and accepted its fate, and
accepted that the world was just a cruel place where there was no harmony, and the only
constant was suffering. Because of the inactivity, and the radius of the Lake shrinking, plans to
construct a giant Area - 354 were canceled by the O5, and the Area was reduced to a size only
a little bigger than the original Watch Station Epsilon - 38, while relying on the natural walls and
isolation for protection. Construction was completed in just 6 months, with the building complex
featuring no more than a residential sector for 50 people, a small scale cafeteria, armory, and
many other small rooms with varying purposes. Due to the heavy budget cuts, many
foundations for different defenses were abandoned mid - construction, and were completely
forgotten. Left to the constant snow, many fell apart and rusted away, only showing themselves
in the form of breaking the toes of a poor guard on foot patrol duty every so often.

2015, June 17th - After a year of ‘cooperation’ between the 3 Insurgent Moles that remain in
Area - 354 and 2 serpent’s hand members, Toby and Tom, the 2 SHs, successfully broke into
the almost unguarded Area - 354, but had to evade the landmines placed before the budget
cuts, as well as the unfinished machine foundations. When they got to the Red Lake itself, they
were told by Insurgent Coordinators to pour the anomalous liquid they brought with them into
the Lake. The ingredients were chosen via an extensive amount of research in the Wanderer’s
Library’s stash of books on the anomalous, designed to reinstill the want for freedom and the
hate for the foundation in the Red Lake. The bubbling Toby and Tom see is the lake waking up,
and the water boiling with rage and hate. To restart its new mission, it needs a design to build its
forces off of, and the 2 SHs look mighty fine. 2 tentacles pop out of the water, and as quickly as
they appeared, they snatched up the 2 SHs and disappeared under the surface. Not a sound
peeped out of Toby or Tom, no evidence that they were ever here. No evidence that the lake
was again intent on waging war against its captors.

2015, December 17th - A Foundation guard on patrol duty is taking a stroll in his assigned area,
the metal boots crunching under the foot of snow that has settled on the dirt path. He's weary
and frigid, having taken an 8 hour shift. His breath is visible in the -23 F° night. He's been
walking back and forth and back and forth for the whole day. A shroud of snow hides the site
from the ignorant world, the guard can barely make out one end of the dirt path to the other. He
takes a moment to sit down on a hill, his legs feel like they've been thrown into the femur
breaker twice over, contemplating whether or not freezing his fingers off is worth the pay. As he
turns his fatigued eyes towards the lake, he spots something on the surface. Is that..
movement? Then, an arm breaks the surface of the red pool. It's wet and deep red, saturated
with boiling blood. The steam coming off of it is visible through the snowy cloak of the night. He
looks at the surface of the water, boiling hot. Then, a head. It's set of 4 eyes stares straight
through the guard's soul, bright and evil. It's staring straight past the guard, and straight at the
generator. It has been instilled with a new goal by its new master, the Red Lake. 'Destroy the
generator. Destroy the generator. Destroy the generator’' is the only thing that repeats inside its
twisted mind. The creature crawls out of the lake, settling on the snowbed. The snow around it
crumbles and melts. This animal, and the new lake, are driven forward by hate. The Lake is now
spiteful of the Foundation's attempts to contain it. It wants to get its independence back, back 30
years ago, where it was free to live, free to be free. No longer would it tolerate being restrained.
The guard has radioed for backup, but for now he's on his own. The creature goes upright, and
slowly walks towards the traumatized guard, he's a new recruit who was only hired the day
before. The walker accelerates until it is at sprinting speed, meanwhile the recruit is frozen in
shock. His little amount of training only kicks in when the walker is a mere foot away from his
face, the creature's rage clearly visible in its eyes. The recruit pistol whips the animal to knock
the creature down, and peppers the body with all 18 bullets inside his magazine. He's driven by
fear and the want to survive. Within a few seconds, the walker is peppered with bullet holes, a
pool of blood surrounding it. A bloody swiss cheese. He stands in shock at what just happened,
he was told the lake was inactive for years. The ugly smell of iron fills the recruit's nose, and as
he thinks about what just happened, another red fist knocks him down to fall face first into the
red snow. The backup team, still making their way to the lake, hear a shrill of absolute terror,
disurbingly cut off by the sound of bone making away for strength and anger, which is drowned
out by the now blowing snow. The team arrives just as they see the creature beating a dead
horse of a corpse. It is accompanied by a horde of more of its kind, and a new kind of war has
begun, kicked off by a hail of lead, and a sea of red.

Im burnt out

One wave happens every day

2015 december 22nd - The squads assigned to the front are growing tired. It’s the same thing
every day, the blood red ketchup people break the surface in droves, half of them die before they
even touch the banks. But today, it feels different. Something is wrong, everybody on the front
can feel it. The first walker has shown its head, the day’s battle has begun. However, a new color
emerges from the lake. Is that.. A GOC? No, he’s different. IT is different. The pretender slowly
steps onto the bank, its steel toed boots crunching the show beneath them. When all the other
walkers die, the thing covers its face, everybody can hear its breathing getting heavier and
heavier. All guns are aimed at the legs and arms, the rest of the body is covered in what looks to
be standard issue GOC Riot Armor. Shortly after, it lets out a long, passionate screech and
lunges straight toward the nearest person it sees, one of the people that killed its brothers.
Snow is displaced where it jumped. An MTF Cadet, only hired a month ago, is pinned down by
the Riot. Fists start flying downwards, and bits of bone fly in all directions. Just as the thing is
done with the MTF Cadet, it charges for the next person, ready to punch straight through the
RCU’s faceplate. It’s put down by a healthy stream of gunfire, but the SCPF’s job has become
much more difficult with the debut of this new enemy, causing confusion as to who is an ally,
and who’s a raging pretender.

2015, December 23rd - Still rocked from yesterday’s practical decapitation of the new MTF, the
frontline soldiers are in for another surprise. Another Riot emerges from the Lake, which is put
down easily thanks to a grenade. It seems like another routine day in the war against the Lake.
But, a lieutenant spots something on the surface. More movement, then a green body. It’s a
cluster bombs incident replica, a lot of those have been coming out recently. Hellfire, Evil
Brother, Cluster Bombs, all of them have been coming out of the lake recently, though much
weaker than their extreme ancestors. The renamed blazes only set fire to what their fists touch,
though are immune to most incendiary weapons. The renamed exploders have a much smaller
radius compared to the wall destroyer it once was, but still are more than capable of being fatal.
The renamed Riots can’t destroy buildings on a large scale, but still excel in CQC, and can take a
punch or two. They find their strength in numbers, but this time only one exploder emerges from
the lake. It charges straight at the Lieutenant that called it out to his squadmates. He’s out of
ammo, but he won’t go down without a fight. He draws a combat knife from his pocket, and
plunges it into the heart of the beast, using its own momentum against it. The gas leaks out
instantaneously, directed towards the lieutenant. The explosion is an instant kill. All that remains
of both combatants is a pair of eyes, and an ash blanketed knife.

2016, January 6th - When the O5 hear about the new Riot and Exploders, they decide the Lake
has become too dangerous to keep alive. Termination holds more rewards than research.
Taking this into account, a group vote is held with the boots on the ground. Accept help from the
GOC, UIU, MC&D, or rely on help from the SCPF. A short conversation takes place, where it is
agreed that since the GOC’s core purpose is to eliminate anomalies, they’re the best choice for
this situation. After the group vote chooses GOC, the O5 Council contacts the Council of 108,
the heads of the GOC. After disclosing what has gone down at Area - 354, the Council of 108
were more than willing to provide assistance. The same day the agreement was made, Area -
354 started getting airdrops filled to the brim with AK47s and sawed off R870s, grenades and
medical supplies. Through contributions from the GOC alone, Area - 354’s supplies could now
be compared to the likes of the legendary Site 19.

2016, January 11th - The O5 receive a communication from heads of the UIU, requesting to
provide assistance in the form of armed agents. The situation was getting worse and worse, so
the O5 authorized the UIU to send in agents, they needed all the help they could get. However,
the GOC protested, citing the fact that most of the time, UIU Agents were a liability in the field.
The O5 smoothed over relations between the two groups, and eventually an agreement was
made. The GOC would send support in the form of supplies, and the UIU would send support in
the form of manpower, something the men on the field were lacking.

Burnt out gonna go shower

2016 january 13th, fake gru - p assault happens, made of water and rock just like everything that
comes out of the lake, really dumb so easy for scpf to tactically kick their bums, lake knows how
gru p looks because it has pretty much a global intelligence network, being able to take in
information through any large body of water. Examples include a lake, river, or ocean.
Anomalous properties do not transfer to these other bodies of water, but the red lake sentience
can still take the POV of said bodies of water. This is also how the lake could replicate the goc
uniform in the Riot creatures it releases

2016 february 8th, first horde shows its face, everybody is supplied with several several bullets
and walkers are weak so it's basically a normal fight but lasts half the day, only problem is that
the fight lasts so long and also there are more riots than normal. No airstrike by the goc is
needed, the line holds.

2016 february 26th - march 5th, toxic gas wave happens, goc sends in gas masks for personnel,
gas doesn't leave for a week and waves are more drawn out, also consist of only exploder and
its varieties

2016 february 28th - mutant blaze spawns and cooks a lot of personnel in their armor, the blaze
being so hot that it almost ignites the gas around it, in the meantime it melts the snow around it
and also throws baby fireballs that just set personnel on fire instead of turning a concrete rebar
composite wall into utter and complete ash
2016 april 5th, horde 2 happens, ghosts run assassination missions and grenadiers make their
debut pushing foundation + goc back to the generator, foundation is victorious with heavy
casualties, brute shows his face an hour after the last walker of the horde goes down, gets a
shot on the generator scaring the absolute crap out of everybody, eventually it goes down. Next
day, no activity from the lake, both sides are pooped after it

2016 march 23rd, lake is quiet as its saving up energy for a certain something, meanwhile in the
same single day, the lake pulls a psychic attack on everybody, convincing them that somebody
is trying to steal their files as a distraction for the lake to refuel on energy, which is also why you
just click some circles to hack the laptops, lake doesnt know how to actually hack. A couple
hours later in the dead of night another ci assault happens, this time more death squad units
show their faces and successfully pull off the surprise attack this time around. As a last resort,
GOC sends in a missile barrage and it works, scpf was pushed back to the generator again and
bullets were hitting it. Next day, bolt makes its debut and even more monsters come out of the
lake daily, also rushers show their faces and the first day they showed up, they sent a poor ISD
agent across the dirt path straight into one of the hills

2016 june 31st, bolty shows its annoying face and scpf actually prepared for this one,
electrically resistant clothing was issued and lightning rods were placed around the battlefield,
bolty only reaches the halfway point and slowly but surely it gets weaker and weaker, spending
more of its electricity, no longer frying bullets before they touch its skin, and even with the
support baby bolts, bullets eventually start going into its skin. Also the amount of electricity
present generates a local lightning storm. Scpf is victorious with less casualties than estimated
thanks to actually preparing.

2017, December 31st, pouring wave happens. Research team finally made enough of that
anomalous super material that will take away the lake’s will to fight by making it braindead.
Being braindead, it wont do anything, and therefore it’ll be pretty much terminated. Ingredients
chosen via extorting captured SH members. Pipe system is installed within the same day, and
the battle begins. GOC opens the fight with more airstrikes, giving the boots on the ground
heavy support. But, the 3 Insurgent Moles, leftovers from that first CI Raid, sabotaged the
pouring by putting a gash in the pipe. After that, they skedaddled out of there using one of the
jeeps at the entrance. Nobody was able to stop them, considering the whole ‘red lake is sending
out monsters we need all hands on deck’ thing. Reality anchors counter ghosts going to
different dimensions to attack, and the Lake pulls out the very last trump card. Big boss man, or
titan. NU 7 units set up a line of turrets at the back of the field, when titan reaches the line of
death the force of the bullets build up to become so much it makes the titan drop his hammer,
pushes him back, and it eventually dies. Problem solved.

SURPRISE, 2018, January 1st - Out on the field are countless tables and tents. You see all the
men who fought the year long war against the Red Lake. The blood color was fading from the
surface, and you could even start to see the walls of the body of water. Looking back at the men,
you would see all their faces, happy. A smile. Multiple a smiles. Every single face had a smile
plastered onto it. For the first time in a year. Somebody was manning a makeshift DJ Booth,
fueling the party, intent on making it last until the break of dawn. The scene could be compared
to a bar in the middle of the night. People dancing, drinking, enjoying themselves after fighting
for so long. Blood, sweat, and tears came out of every last person, they deserved the right to
celebrate. But the Lake.. the lake wasn’t done with them. Not yet, not by a long shot. It was only
preparing for one final attack on Area - 354 and it’s personnel. The substance that was poured
into it was quarantined into a small portion of the water by the Lake. It was smart, much smarter
than anybody gave it credit for. The rest of the lake remained unaffected. It purposely took away
the red color from its surface as a ruse, to lure the men into a false sense of victory. Delta takes
a moment to stare at the Lake, to revel in the moment of glory. The last year had paid off. He
and the others were scheduled to receive fat paydays for their contributions to Area - 354. But,
something is different, again. Something is always different with the Lake. Delta strays away
from the party, just to make sure his eyes aren’t messing with him. If they are, he may have
caught a nasty case of PTSD. He wouldn’t want that. The Site Director, who joined the men on
the ground to celebrate, spots Delta walking off. Along with 2 guards, he made his way to Delta
to make sure everything was ok. They talked for a moment as they made their way towards the
lake. The Director wanted to reassure Delta that the substance worked, that this whole thing
was all over. He even offered Delta a week of paid leave, but Delta was walking towards the lake
with no intention of stopping. The Director followed him, trying to snap him out of this.. trance.
But, before he could finish his next sentence, both men were stunned at what they gazed their
eyes upon. Delta, for the first time in front of somebody, took off the skull gas mask to make
sure the lenses weren’t being funny. Both parties wiped their eyes. This was no case of PTSD or
drinking, the Lake was still alive. Still sentient. Still angry. Rage. Hate. Resentment. Malice. A
need, for revenge. Revenge against the Foundation, against the GOC. For keeping it contained.
Restrained. Subdued. Controlled. Like a puppet. No more would it tolerate it. This was its
moment. To let the hate flow through it. Uncontrolled, unsubdued, unrestrained, uncontained
hate. For the Foundation, for the GOC. Tonight, it was going to open the floodgates for the
venom to flow. Delta and the Director saw the surface of the Lake, it was boiling hot. The air
around the lake felt like the inside of a sauna. Steam was forming a cloud above it that was
spreading rapidly, quickly obscuring the star filled night sky. The boiling blood was opaque,
exactly like the walls that keep it contained. It splashed onto the Director, scalding his skin and
the flesh underneath. Like a chicken leg in a deep fryer. The screams of pain satisfied the lake,
but not enough. It wanted more. The Director’s screaming alerted the rest of the crew, it
punched through the DJ Booth’s tracks despite being 2 city blocks away. For the last time in
their lives, each man took to arms and made their way to battle stations. The Director was
getting dragged away by the two SD Guards, and the Lake would not allow that. Just like the first
night with the 2 Serpent’s Hand members, all those years ago, a single tentacle emerged from
the surface. But, as always, the Lake was full of surprises. This tentacle kept expanding until it
was the side of a skyscraper. It displaced even more water, coating everybody but Delta in more
liquid pain. The Kraken Tentacle then slowly started falling. The personnel were stunned in
shock, as they watched this unholy offspring from the deepest depths of the 9 circles of hell
shatter the ground with the force equivalent to detonating the Tsar Bomba, twice over. It
stretched just far enough to destroy the camp, and the DJ Booth. And 5 unfortunate souls that
were just trying to sleep the night away. These 5 were not enough for the lake. ‘More blood’ it
chanted. ‘More bodies’ it craved. The shaking lasted for 5 seconds, which felt like 5 hours of the
world slowly ending to the men on the ground. As they made their way back to their feet, they
were horrified to see 8 total skyscraper size tentacles spread all around the landscape. In the
lake, next to the camp, they surrounded the group, with the only escape being towards the
generator. But that wouldn’t matter. The Lake was no longer interested in breaking free. It was
invested in spilling blood. And this time, it would get what it wanted. As everybody slowly gained
back their footing, they looked at the banks and it felt as if somebody stopped the world clock.
There stood an army, 100 strong. Walkers, Exploders, Riots, Ghosts, all types of enemies the
Lake spat out over the past year. They no longer walked. They ran. They ran straight towards the
personnel of Area - 354. Its master chanted to them; Blood. Blood I want. Skulls I want. Death I
want. The loyal army of minions ran in unity towards the men. Within their ranks existed multiple
instances of Mutant Riots, just as strong as the one from Incident 354 - 3a. It was a one - sided
massacre. Within the next hour, bodies would fall. 20 bodies scattered across the field. Each
with a shattered skull, its contents spilled out in a pool around it. There were other morbid
injuries too gruesome to mention, even by name. Out of 23 men present that night, only 3 would
live to tell the tale. All the bureaucrats, and Delta. All 3, and the other 20, were only concerned
with their own survival. The MTF Commander and an SD Captain left the battlefield as soon as
the first screams broke out. They took the last Helicopter flight out of the area, leaving
everybody else for dead. All but one person. Delta, who fell unconscious from the original
tentacle strike, woke up to a walker a tenth of a second away from punting his head 6 feet deep.
His years of experience kicked in, and he engaged in a boxing match with the thing. Its fists
were filled with boiling liquid, like a gusher of pain. After a couple moments, Delta gained the
upper hand, and immediately activated his Combat Cloak, a little gift from the ISD after proving
his loyalty. He very quietly and very carefully hiked up the mountains that surrounded Area - 354.
He traveled 20 miles through the freezing snow before finally succumbing to the Canadian
Wilderness. He was found a couple days later by the same ranger station from 1996.
Intercepting the comms again, the Foundation tracked down Delta through the descriptions of
the frozen survivor. The strange insignia, the skull mask, arctic combat clothes, a Foundation
search team raided the Ranger Station just before Delta was sent off to another. The Ranger
manning it was given amnestic treatment, and everybody went on their merry way. Delta went
on to provide a jackpot of information on what took place that day, being the only survivor that
was close to the combat front. Taking in what was collected from Delta, a 15 mile exclusion
zone has been set up around the former Area - 354, just enough space to leave the Red Lake to
its own devices, to give it what it wanted the day it was contained on the 17th of January, in the
year of 1997, which it took back on a cold start to the year of 2018; Freedom.

Operative Information n’ stuff im sleepy

Delta - Was a foundation mole that got into the insurgency’s ranks, but got converted to their
side after staying for a good while. Was part of the death squad flank team on the first of 2
insurgent raids on the red lake. His CI friends eventually found out about Delta's former mole
status, and during the retreat, stabbed his legs and shot it for good measure. Delta was a
rebellious operative, giving the soon to be CI Juggernaut in the 2nd insurgent raid the datapad
which told him ‘oh no your brother is gone so sad’. This is how the insurgency found out about
Delta's mole status. To be clear, Delta was a foundation mole that got converted to the
insurgency’s cause, but got exposed because he gave a soon to be CI Jugg a datapad. Delta
was found in a field by an SD Captain leading a sweep, and after some talking, and some
promises, Delta was allowed to rejoin the SCPF, with a few tricks from his CI friends.

Viper - Former SH member, used to be a captive to the Foundation found in a foundation raid on
a SH cell, but he made it clear to interrogators that he was extorted to join the SH. To back this
up, he supplied a major amount of information to SCPF, making major contributions to research
in the process. Because of the whole being extorted thing, SCPF let him join their ranks with no
restrictions, unlike Delta.

GOC Faction/Operative- O5 chose GOC as primary ally, but due to one of the core principles of
the GOC, Protect, a limited number of GOC Operatives are dispatched to the frontlines of Area -
354. “The GOC always tries to protect individual humans, both operatives and civilians,
whenever possible..”. Though few in numbers, the GOC Operatives come with an advanced
prototype of their organization’s weapon project, which needs a lot of scrap, which is also why
the GOC Captain assigned to oversee the situation at Area - 354 wants to buy scrap. This
advanced prototype ammo is compatible with not just the originally designed weapons
platform, the one in the MTF shop that the GOC doesn't know about, but it’s compatible with all
guns, so long as it’s the proper specific type. Special 9mm ammo can’t fit into an AK47. The
GOC Ops come with their own equipment from their own headquarters, which includes a shield,
G36, and access to the missile network, though part of the cost comes out of their own
paycheck in order to not make them reliant on the network.

Hacker - Used to steal tens of thousands of dollars from bank accounts across the world, but
the Foundation spotted his natural talent for the art. After a long loyalty test session, and an
oath to the Foundation, they hooked him up with the drone and tablet with reality warping
technology, of course with a reality anchor, activated in case he goes rogue. He’s been given a
great amount of power with the whole bending reality thing, though not enough power to delete
the lake from reality. Just enough to heal people, summon ammo, and a couple more sweet
things. The ‘hacking the sun’ thing is just a higher tier script, deploying a large, mostly opaque
screen around the area being affected, the blackout gives the personnel the advantage because
many of the MTF Units are used to operating in darkness within sites that are undergoing severe
breaches in their Euclid or Keter wings. Oh yeah it works at night too because you can still put
out the moonlight.

Private - Summoned into modern day from a time experiment which took place long before
Incident 354 - 3d, he’s fresh from WWII with a ripe case of PTSD, along with his trusty bag of
stolen german stick grenade- potato mashers. He was given extensive therapy for the Shell
Shock, but it never truly worked. When 354 - 3d happened, the site was in major need of
assistance. And so, men were drawn from all around the world, including this dude. Also, the
bag has infinite potato mashers because of a little accident during the original time experiment,
it opened a wormhole to a massive potato masher storehouse, straight into the bag. Oh yeah, he
also has a stolen MP40 in the bag, and his trusty M1 Garand. Oh yeah, he stole a Luger from an
enemy officer as a trophy.

Squid Guard (yes i'm really doing one for squid) - He’s a higher ranked Square guard who got
wind of a certain Area - 354 through his employer’s massive intelligence network. Looking for
some fun that wasn’t reading contestants like a book, he contacted the headmaster person,
whatever his name is, for permission to check out what’s happening, asking in the form of
unpaid leave of course. Without the Headmaster’s knowledge, the Square led a small squad of
Triangles to infiltrate Area - 354. Breaking in via a grueling hike through the natural walls, the
Square and his men didn’t even make an effort to announce his arrival, just popping up suddenly
and targeting the ketchup people. He knew that Area - 354 needed all the help it could get, so he
and his men wouldn’t be shot, but instead welcomed with open arms. His assumption was half
true, as he was taken in for questioning. After a short moment of clearing things up, making he
and his men’s intentions clear, they were released and assigned to the frontline, just like
everybody else.

Anarchist - A more rebellious Level 3 SCPF member, he’s sat in front of the Foundation’s
equivalent of a state court countless times, and for his much more reckless stunts, in front of
the O5 themselves. The only reason he was still a member of the foundation was that, similar to
Dr. Clef, he was a valuable loose cannon. His combat prowess was practically unmatched, and
made opportunities for other personnel to flee the battle on multiple occasions. Matching with
the name, he often carried with him a molotov, ready to summon a wall of fire at a moment’s
notice. Hearing of the events going down at Area - 354, he didn’t even ask for permission to
deploy. Going absolutely hyper from the news of the greatest opportunity for fun he’s ever heard
of, similar to a child on a sugar high, he..
Hijacked a foundation Osprey, crash landed next to an MTF Unit’s barracks after running out of
fuel, broke a guy’s nose that was trying to stop him, hijacked a jeep, smashed straight into Tau -
5’s headquarters, stole a copy of their uniforms, escaped under fire from Tau - 5’s experimental
radiation powered weaponry, crashed into an S - 9 airbase and hijacked a jet and escaping a
dogfight in the sky, and finally arrived at Area - 354, crashing the jet into the inner natural wall.
After some significant sweeping under the rug and bribing Foundation officials by his closest
friends, he got to stay at the foundation, despite costing them millions upon millions in this
single incident. He went on to have a blast at Area - 354, quite literally in some cases.

Jake - Dispatched by the MTF Commander to Area - 354 in order to provide heavier arms to
those who can afford it. Yuji gets jealous that somebody is joining him with the armory job
except they have the better guns, but they work together anyway. They don’t bat an eye towards
each other most of the time. Yuji wins at the end of the day though, he gets the ramen. Though
Jake brought with him a coke.

UIU de bois in blue - UIU Commander found out about the breach, contacted the O5 who were
desperate, but were only to come in small numbers because GOC doesn't like UIU for being bad
at their jobs.

Oh yeah also ‘research’ refers to how much of that super substance the researchers have, you
pour some in at mutation waves so the lake doesn't become even more of a pain, the super
substance works the first two times because the lake doesn’t have enough experience with it to
suppress the effects.
