Family Case-
important to keep in mind that it is a clinicosocial case and not clinical
case. They want you to have a basic knowledge of the medicine not
complete medicine treatment.
Remember to check their bpl card, ayushman card and opd cards and
immunization card
Ask how do they store food raw and cooked and about rodents presence.

Must know things about family case viva-


- Type of socioeconomic scales
- Who is head of family
- Who all can be index case and why chose this particular case as index
- Importance of address
- Type of family (nuclear, joint, 3 generation, broken, problem)
- Different age group definition
- SES importance
- Three criteria of overcrowding
- Disadvantage of overcrowding
- Ventilation criteria
- Why ventilation important
- How will you check for adequate lighting
- Advantages of adequate lighting
- Classification of diseases with respect to water
- Dietary survey
 Different methods (names of at least 5)
 How calculated each food product calorie
 Total calorie requirement according to age and work how many
calorie deficient and dietary advice about how will the case
overcome it
- Advices are very important (they ask at each level (individual, family
and community level advices given by you with respect to every
case)), be vigilant about the lacuna in your family house.
- National programs related to the case

Grand viva-
 Though question can be asked from anywhere from whole psm, but
sometimes (luck dependent) they ask you what have you read and come
so at least any three topics be thoroughly prepared with it.
 Sometimes they ask what have you learnt in community medicine and
what are the things you saw in the field so be prepared with few points.

All the things written for spotting except the entomology spots will be
kept in a tray infront of examiners.

Important points about practical exam-


Each component of practical exam has different marks so try to score
maximum in each part.
Spotters and tray have lot of topics in common so it will fetch you marks.
