Me Before You
Directed by Thea Sharrock | Released in 2016
Me Before You is a heartfelt romantic-comedy drama directed by Thea Sharrock,
based on Jojo Moyes' bestselling novel. It follows Louisa Clark, a cheerful caregiver,
and Will Traynor, a man paralyzed after an accident. As their bond deepens, the film
explores themes of love, personal choice, and the value of life. With emotional moments
and a touching story, it leaves a lasting impression.
Me Before You tells the emotional journey of Louisa, who becomes a caregiver
for Will, a man paralyzed after an accident. At first, Will is cold and doesn’t want to be
friends with Lou, but because Lou is kind and full of joy, he slowly starts to open up, and
their bond grows into something deeply meaningful. A small moment, like Will gifting
Lou her beloved bumblebee tights, shows how much he truly cares for her. I was
annoyed by Lou’s boyfriend who I felt selfish and emotionally distant, unlike Will, who
genuinely listened and supported her. Emilia Clarke is absolutely amazing as Lou. I’m
fascinated by her acting, especially her expressive eyebrows. It’s like her face is talking,
even when she’s not saying a word, and that’s something so special. With its warm
colors, cozy countryside, and touching soundtrack, the movie delivers both comfort and
emotional depth. It’s a heartfelt story about love, choice, and living life fully, leaving a
lasting impression.
For me, Me Before You is a 10/10 movie. It made me laugh, cry, and think about
life in a different way. It’s not just a love story; it is a reminder to live fully and appreciate
every moment. If you’re into movies that pull on your heartstrings and leave you thinking
long after, then this is definitely a must-watch.
