can make out from the poem?

A.1. Adrienne Rich radical feminist poet. Her poetry illustrates woman in the
American society as she evolves through varying phases. The trees could
represent womanhood from her perspective. Another interpretation of The Trees
could be that trees represent freedom from the clutches of society - a human
being fighting to free himself from the societal expectations forced upon him. It
could also be talking about the disappearance of forests due to deforestation-
how man is destroying nature for his own purposes.

The conflict between man and nature, meaning how man is cutting down trees for
selfish reasons, not realizing the repercussions he will face as a result of his
wrongdoings. This could mean man made disasters that will finally perish
