Everyone enjoys a fun guessing game. “Let's play!” Here, let me give you
some clues. This is a mysterious, endangered big cat. It is carnivorous and
lives in forests and mountains. It has a circular face like a lion, but the nose
and mouth are shaped like a cylinder (which means it's sticking out). This
animal purrs like a house cat, “Meow”. It can't roar, but it can also growl,
screech, and hiss. It has big brown eyes, round ears, and an innocent-
looking face, giving it a cute expression. It's also covered with brown and
golden fur, like a carpet of sunshine. It’s now sitting down peacefully, by a
cliff, staring into the valley below. It has curved its beautiful strong legs into
round shapes, and has arched its back. Resting its graceful paws on the
soft grass, for the end of the day. Slowly it lies down, and closes its eyes,
waiting peacefully for tomorrow. Do you know the answer? Yes! It is the
puma!
With its sharp features, the peregrine falcon sat,
perched on a tree branch, scanning the area with its
keen eyes. Cloaked in silky feathers of white and
bluish gray, the bright, highlighter yellow of the
falcon’s claws and beak stood out. Having spotted no
prey, the bird let out a sharp, rasping CAAAW! Then it
lifted into the air, soaring just below the blanket of
fluffy white clouds. Eventually, an unsuspecting crow
flapped into the awaiting predator’s line of sight., and
Wwwithoutithout Withouthesitation, the peregrine
falcon dove, looking like a meteor speeding toward
Earth. Once it was in striking range, the falcon
extended its long, sharp claws and crashed into its
victim. The impact of the strike instantly killed the
crow because it was a powerful and precise blow.
After attacking, the triumphant bird cawed once more,
and swooped to catch the crow, which was now
falling, in its outstretched talons. The peregrine falcon
brought its prey to the tree branch and began tearing
at it, feasting on a well-earned catch.
The emerald green leaves brushed against the coarse brown fur of
the hyena as he spotted a prey. He and his clan lurched forward, coming
into sight of a zebra. The zebra froze. The hyena stopped in his tracks as
he vigorously started laughing. The other hyenas slowed down in their
tracks as they started cackling along wickedly. As the zebras lifted their
heads, they were frantic due the the sight before them. As they started to
run in other direction, more hyenas chuckled from behind. The hazel brown
eyes of the hyena twinkled with excitement. The trees held their breath, not
daring to move a muscle. The whole savanna seemed to be frozen like a
photograph. The hyena, who was on the far left, broke the silence. He led
the other hyenas to inch forward closing in on the herd of zebras. The
hyenas snickered with pride. Because of the angry jaws on the hyena’s
head, the zebras were goners. After taking down one of the large beasts
they ate their fill . With their hearts content, the hyenas disappeared into
the eerie forest, licking their lips seeking new prey.

“Ahhhh!” A piercing scream came from behind. People rushed to have a glimpse at what
happened. I shifted through the crowd to get a peek because I was curious. There was a tiny
light brown monkey with a phone.
The monkey scrambled onto a stone ledge still clutching the phone. He sat there waiting for
something. The woman reached out to get the phone back but had no luck. As people were
taking pictures, they grasped their phones tightly. Some pulled their handbags in towards
themselves. Everyone could agree that they didn’t want anything taken.
A man who had a colossal camera secured around his neck, came up to the monkey and pulled
out a monstrous stack of crackers. The monkey showed his teeth as sharp as knives, but still
would not budge. The man took out a tiny pack of peanuts, just enough to fit in your palm. The
monkey peered around, but still won’t budge. The woman started getting anxious. She paced
around trying to swipe the phone out of the monkey’s hands, but the monkey pulled it away. The
man put an arm out to stop the woman as he took out his final treat, he had a protein in the
shape of an egg. The monkey aggressively snatched both of them and left the phone behind.
I had been so intrigued that I hadn't noticed my sunglasses were missing. I used the same trick
the man had used. The brown trouble maker took the stack of crackers without a second
thought. My sunglasses were saved. These cute creatures are clever and athletic. They would
make an amazing football team together.
Zoo
“CRUNCH! CRUNCH!” Looking around, I spotted a raccoon in a nearby exhibit.
It was sitting on a log, gnawing on an apple. It was a small creature with a coat
of brown, black, and gray fur. I approached its exhibit, glancing at the animal
identification sign that was propped up in front of the exhibit. From the sign I
learned that the clever-looking mammal before me was a North American
raccoon. I glanced back at the raccoon; it had finished the apple and was now
fiddling with the lock on the gate of the exhibit. Curious, I moved closer. It dug its
claw into the keyhole and was slowly, carefully, and expertly rotating it. Doing
this, the raccoon looked like a professional lock-picker. Then, with a soft “Click,”
the gate swung open and the raccoon leapt out. It dodged tourists and wove
through the large crowds of people. Before long, people started noticing it.
“HEY,” a man yelled in a high pitched voice, “THAT RACCOON ESCAPED
FROM ITS CAGE!”
Everyone nearby turned to look. People began screaming and pushing
through the crowd because they were scared that the raccoon would bite.
Hearing the commotion, some zookeepers soon arrived and started chasing the
raccoon, trying to catch it. Unfortunately for them, the raccoon was both faster
and more agile than them. In full sprint, the small mammal was a racecar,
dodging obstacles and speeding along its chosen path.
Just then, a woman with an ice cream cone walked by the raccoon exhibit.
Noticing the raccoon zooming towards her, the woman screamed and flung her
ice cream to the ground in fright. It landed just inside the exhibit. Racing past the
woman, the raccoon ran straight into the exhibit and started eagerly lapping up
the woman’s ice cream. The zookeepers quickly reached the exhibit and
slammed the gate shut, making sure to lock it tight. The raccoon looked up,
noticing that it was trapped inside. Not seeming to care anymore, it continued
enjoying the ice cream, which apparently tasted better than freedom.
All the while, I stood there holding back a laugh, as the woman that had
the ice cream now wore a stunned and somewhat embarrassed expression. This
was the greatest visit to the zoo ever! I never knew that a raccoon could be
responsible for an animal jailbreak.
Example
The heavy velvet curtains in the room had been nailed to the wall blocking
out the late afternoon sunlight. The room had a wooden floor that was tarnished but
it hadn’t been polished in some time. A French carpet covered part of the floor. It
was dyed a deep crimson and was embroidered with Emerald ivy and twirling gold
designs; the center was a golden sun. This two was stained with burn holes and dirt
like the floor.
The room was hazy with smoke that originated from the owner of the room. A
tall man who was sitting in a shabby chair beside the fire, which was the only source
of light. He wore a tattered blue dressing gown and silk pajamas that looked as
though he had worn them for days. The tall, pale man held the long pipe between
his teeth puffing away deep in thought. On the table beside his chair, a long dark
blue overcoat and hat that had become his trademark had been thrown. The hat
was a deerstalker, it was a dark black, and the earflaps were held up by a dark blue
ribbon. A red scarf and a single glove lay on top of the coat, the second glove was
on the floor forgotten. A cast iron container held swords and a single fire iron, it sat
beside the fireplace, as if there was nothing at all odd about swords and fire irons
being housed together.
A dresser was beside the bed on the opposite side of the room. All the
drawers were opened, and clothing was thrown about the room. The few items in
the drawers were neatly folded though the state of the room suggested the owner
hadn’t made an effort. Likely it was another person who had attempted to tend to
the room, but it was clear their efforts had been in vain. Every surface was littered
with books, parchments, chemistry vials, various instruments, weapons and
discarded men’s clothing. The book's topics covered human anatomy, chemistry,
mathematics and geography among other things.
The bed had more papers and looked as if hadn’t slept in. Above the bed
there were holes in the ceiling caused by the revolver that lay on the bed, it’s safety
had been turned off. Bullets lay beside the gun and powder ready to reload the
gun. A slight indent indicated someone had lay on the bed and shot into the ceiling.
More numbers were written beside the holes. Some papers had been nailed to the
ceiling with calculations about the speed of the bullet and impact. An uncooked
chicken hung from a rope between the bed and the desk. The chicken had been
nailed to the ceiling and arrows were embedded deep within its raw flesh. The bow
and remaining arrows lay forgotten on the dresser among clothing.
There was a cylinder desk that once had been expensive but now looked
shabby. The desk had a stack of shelves deep within that housed ink, random
diagrams and writing implements. There was a revolving cylinder that came down
to hide the workspace. Like the hood of the trunk it could be locked, to hide away
paperwork from prying eyes. But the key was in the lock, and the revolving cylinder
had been left open to reveal the chaotic workspace. The desk surface had been slid
out to extend the surface and offer more space but apparently not enough. A
second small table had been pulled up and was covered in papers and books. The
wooden chair was currently empty and had not been pushed back in.
A black bag was open with metal instruments, and a wooden rack held three
vials of different color liquid. A parchment was left on the desk it was a drawing of a
man who had been stabbed lines and numbers littered the page. Detailing the force
necessary to drive the knife into the man and the angle of the attack. There was
another figure standing over the man beside the image numbers revealing his
height and weight. A knife about five inches long and two inches wide had been
stabbed into the paper, like a nail. It had been driven deep enough into the desk
that it stood unmoving.
Then a horrible sound echoed through the room like the dying wail of an
animal. The man had picked up a polished violin. The wailing sound echoed in the
smoky room traveling into the hall and to the street alley below the window. Though
the man could not see, the people passing covered their ears as they passed 221B
Backer Street. Sherlock Holmes didn’t care what others thought about his musical
skills or lack of them, as most would argue. There was hard knocking at the door,
and Sherlock rose to his feet placing the violin on top of the chair. He carefully made
his way through the maze of books that littered the floor. As he opened the door,
the sunlight momentarily blinded him. After a moment, he could make out his
partner John Watson, who glared at him as the smoke from the room drifted into the
hallway.
“Sherlock, this is not what I had in mind when I said to take a vacation! Mrs.
Hudson thought you were dead! Why, is there a chicken hanging from your ceiling?”
