technological advancements, market demands, and regulatory pressures. Autonomous vehicle
technology is progressing, with companies like Waymo and traditional automakers leading
developments, although regulatory and safety concerns remain substantial hurdles. The
COVID-19 pandemic disrupted manufacturing and supply chains, but the industry has shown
resilience, with a strong recovery trend. The global semiconductor shortage remains a critical
issue, prompting efforts to diversify supply sources. The shift towards hybrid and electric
vehicles (EVs) is accelerating globally, with major automakers and new entrants investing
heavily in EV technology to meet rising consumer demand and stringent environmental
regulations. Autonomous vehicle development continues, although widespread adoption faces
regulatory and safety challenges. Sustainability is a key focus, with governments
implementing strict emission regulations and promoting cleaner technologies. Consumer
preferences are shifting towards connected cars, featuring advanced infotainment systems,
enhanced safety features, and greater user experience. This demand for high-tech vehicles is
influencing global market trends and encouraging innovation in autonomous and connected
vehicle technologies. Overall, the global automotive industry is evolving rapidly, balancing
technological innovation, sustainability, and market demands.

Volkswagen (VW) is a major player in the international automobile industry, known for its
wide range of vehicles and strong global presence. The company is advancing in autonomous
and connected car technologies while addressing stringent emission regulations. VW is also
focusing on enhancing production efficiency and supply chain resilience, especially post-
COVID-19 disruptions and semiconductor shortages. Globally, VW leverages its brand
strength and innovation capabilities to capture market share in both mature and emerging
markets, continuously adapting to evolving consumer preferences and regulatory
environments.

11

VW Group India focuses on expanding its market presence through strategic launches and
local manufacturing. The company has invested in modernizing its Pune plant and introduced
models tailored to Indian preferences, like the VW Taigun and Virtus. Despite challenges

share by emphasizing quality, safety, and technology. The brand also benefits from growing
consumer demand for premium and feature-rich vehicles.

CONCLUSIONS
EVM Volkswagen Thiruvananthapuram stands out as a reputable dealership offering high-
quality Volkswagen vehicles, known for their reliability and performance. The showroom is
staffed by knowledgeable professionals who provide excellent customer service and
comprehensive after-sales support, ensuring a satisfying customer experience. While the
higher price and limited rural presence pose challenges, the expanding market for electric
vehicles and potential for digital marketing offer significant growth opportunities. The
dealership must navigate intense competition and economic fluctuations, but with strategic
focus on enhancing rural outreach, leveraging digital platforms, and expanding EV offerings,
EVM Volkswagen Thiruvananthapuram can capitalize on its strengths to drive future success.

Recommendation:

1. Focus on Electric Vehicle

2. Enhance rural outreach
3. Improve cost management
