4. Teacher states the objectives of today’s lesson

PRE-READING
1. Pupils are given an infograpgic poster (Appendix 4.1) to
read.
SEN pupils are given another infographic poster with
larger fonts (Appendix 4.2)
2. Pupils skim and scan the infographic poster.
SEN pupils are allowed more time and have assistance
from the teacher.
3. Pupils are asked a few questions about the infographic
poster.
SEN pupils are allowed more time to respond.
a. What is the poster all about?
b. What are the main ideas presented in the poster?
c. Is there any new words?
4. Pupils preview the new words with the teacher.
SEN pupils are assisted by the teacher of the unfamiliar
words using a marker and a paper as a demonstration
during the preview.

WHILE-READING
1. Pupils read the infographic poster aloud, repeating after
the teacher.
SEN pupils are given the poster with larger fonts and
are given more time to read aloud with the guidance
from the teacher.
2. Pupils discuss about the poster with the teacher
paragraph by paragraph (types of sports mentioned,
benefits etc.)
3. Pupils are asked to identify the words/phrases related to
sports.
SEN pupils are given more time to respond and given
assistance by the teacher who wants to answer.
4. Pupils listen to the teacher’s explanation (Appendix 5 –
slides)

LESSON DEVELOPMENT

1 SEN pupil is assigned in each group/with a classmate


they can work with.
6. Pupils are instructed to sit in a circle so that they can
interact better with each other.
