The local DVD store is losing track of all of its DVDs, some have been lost and possibly some have

been stolen. As such, the owner has asked you to design and create a database to help her keep

track of her DVDs. Complete the theory section first and then in the practical section create a

database for the DVD store.

Section 1: Theory

Answer all questions.

2. Mr Kent is a movie buff. He uses a database to store all the information about the movies he’s

bought. The table below shows the field names he uses.

Section 2: Practical

Create an electronic database for the DVD store. Use the information from the

DVD store on page 3 to create a table, form, queries and report.

1. Table [4 marks]
Create a table based on the fields and data types in the table on page 3.
Remember to add a Movie ID field and a Primary key.
[save it as tblMovie]

2. Form [2 marks]
Create a form from your table. Add a sensible title to the Form.
[Save it as frmMovie]

3. Queries [1 mark each]


Create queries which can do the following;
[a]. Find all of the Action movies. [save it as qryAction]
[b]. Find all of the movies released in 2010. [save it as qry2010]
[c]. Find the movie directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 1993. [save it as qry1993]
[d]. Find the Romance movie directed by Catherine Hardwicke. [save it as qryRomance]

4. Reports [2 marks]
Create a report based on the first query you created above [Action movies].
