Apollo 11: Moon Landing History

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11's Lunar Module, Eagle, landed on the moon with astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin aboard. Armstrong famously declared, 'One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind' as he stepped onto the lunar surface, despite accidentally breaking a part of the engine that would affect their return. The mission was part of the Cold War space race, following the Soviet Union's early achievements in space exploration.

The Apollo 11

On 20th July, 1969 the Eagle had landed on the moon. The three names Neil
Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and had made history. The Eagle had landed on
the moon and Neil Armstrong put on his space suit and was ready to open the
door of the Eagle. He successfully opened it after a bit of struggle. While he
was trying to step down the Lunar Module [Eagle] he broke a part of the
engine. They both were unaware of this as the sound of the breaking did not
travel to the astronauts because of the lack of air. Without this switch they
could not take off again. After this Neil Armstrong landed on the moon stating
‘One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind’. Some people still
refuse to believe that the humans landed and the earth and believed that the
NASA had shot the scene on earth and were fooling them. The actual reason
the America had planned the Apollo 11 mission was because of a war. That war
was the Cold war between Soviet Union and America. They both were engaged
in a space war. In 1957 the Soviet Union became the first nation to launch the
first artificial satellite. It was called as Sputnik. The American Government got
shocked by the event. In response the American Government in 1958 launched
their artificial satellite called Explorer. But three years later, in 1961 the Soviet
Union gave the American Government another shock. This time Yuri Gagarin
made history by being the first person going to space. On 25 May
