The brain is the control center of our body. It helps us think, feel, and
move. It's like a supercomputer inside our head! The brain receives
information from our senses, such as sight, hearing, and touch. It
understands this information and sends signals to our body to respond. For
example, if we touch something hot, our brain tells us to pull our hand away
quickly. The brain is made up of billions of tiny cells called brain cells. These
cells connect with each other to form complex networks. Scientists are still
learning about how the brain works, but we know that it's an amazing organ
that helps us live our life.

Today, I reflected on how my town has changed over the years. When I
was young, there were many green fields and parks. People could walk to the
river easily. Now, there are many buildings and roads. The population has
grown, and many trees have been cut down. Birds and other animals have
fewer places to live. The air feels less fresh because of pollution from cars and
factories. I love my town, but I miss the peaceful green spaces. It makes me
think about how important it is to protect the environment. We need to find
ways to balance growth and nature to keep our town beautiful and healthy
for future generations.

We should try to make the world a greener place. One way is by planting
trees. They give us fresh air and are good for the environment. There are
many ways to spread the idea of planting trees. First, you can tell your friends
and family about the benefits of trees. You can share pictures and facts about
trees on social media to reach more people. Another way is to join or
organize tree-planting events in your community. You can also encourage
schools to have tree-planting activities. Giving small gifts like small trees to

Listening 1

Studying can sometimes feel like a big mountain to climb! Here are a few
simple tips to make studying easier and more fun. You should find your best
time to learn. Some people like to study in the morning, while others prefer
the afternoon or evening. Choose a quiet place where you can concentrate.
Make sure you have everything you need, like books, pens, and snacks. Take
short breaks for about 20-30 minutes.

Listening 2

I'm Nabila. Today my grandma showed me some old photos of our city. It was
a town back then! She could walk to the sea from her house - across fields!
There were lots of green spaces, and it looked so peaceful in the photos.
Now, there's hardly any open land left. It’s all been taken over by
construction. The population has grown so much that there are apartment
buildings from here to the sea. I love my city.

Listening 3

Heba was shopping yesterday. She went to the butcher’s. She bought a kilo
of meat. She paid the butcher 400 pounds. She went to the greengrocer’s.
She bought tomatoes and carrots. She paid forty pounds for the tomatoes
and sixty pounds for the carrots. At last, she went to the bakery and bought
bread for twenty pounds. She walked home at twelve o’clock.

Listening 4

This week at school, we're talking about digital habits. I thought about how,
when, and how often I use digital technology and I realized that my digital
habits are quite good. For example, I never watch video or look at my phone
for too long in the evening. I usually read a book in the hour before I go to
bed instead to give my eyes a rest from looking at a screen.

the new words. This will help you remember and revise easily. It’s important to
take a (4) ........break......... every 30-45 minutes to rest your mind. By following

(facilities - birdhouses - growth - countryside - construction)
The population in cities is growing quickly. This means that more
(1) .......facilities......... is needed to provide homes and other buildings. This
growth requires new (2) ...construction...... like schools, hospitals, and parks.
While cities get bigger, some people move to the (3) ..countryside..... to find
more space and a quieter life. Managing this (4) .......growth.... is important to
make sure everyone has what they need.

(cause - bothers - outdated - stations - share)

In big cities, public transportation can be a problem. Many buses and trains
are (1) .......outdated......... and slow. This (2) ...... cause..... many people who need
to get to work or school quickly. One solution is to update the old systems and
build new (3) ...stations....................... Another idea is to encourage people to

(join - left out - included - have text)

(effects - teenagers - addicted - make - take)
Spending too much time using the internet can affect teenagers' brains. An
expert says being (1) ......... addicted......... to the internet can make it hard to
focus and pay attention. But, the internet can also help (2) .....teenagers..........

We need to find
ways to balance growth and nature to keep our town beautiful and healthy
for future generations.

many ways to spread the idea of planting trees. First, you can tell your friends
and family about the benefits of trees. You can share pictures and facts about
trees on social media to reach more people. Another way is to join or
organize tree-planting events in your community. You can also encourage
schools to have tree-planting activities. Giving small gifts like small trees to
others is a nice idea to spread the message.

(What helps us to learn)
Here are some suggestions to help you learn. when you read a text, it is
useful to underline new words or highlight them. you can remind yourself of
tricky spelling words by linking them to other words. For example, to remember
the difference between the desert and dessert, you can tell yourself that dessert
has two “s” letters, so it reminds of sweet strawberry desserts! sweet strawberry
begins with two “S” letters like the word dessert.
(2)
(The brain)
We are talking about the brain. It's a very important part of our body. It helps
us think feel and move. Our brain controls everything. We do different parts of
the brain work together to help us do different things, like speaking, moving
and remembering. our brains have a habit of telling us that the thing that
things we agree with are “facts”.

58
(3)
(Learning something new)
Learning new things is an interesting thing for me. Last year, my grandma
visited us. She is from Senegal. She showed me how to make a necklace from
different colored beads. The beads were very small, and I kept dropping them
which was annoying! I wanted to give up, but my grandma encouraged me to
keep going. It took me a long time to make the necklace, but it was very
beautiful. This experience taught me patience and the importance of practice.

(4)
(The importance of city planning)
As the population grows and more people need to live in cities, planning
helps town and cities plan carefully to make sure that all the new people have a
good place to live. Town and city planners must make sure that new homes are
safe for the community. City planning thinks carefully about the countryside.
City planning is very important for all small cities. By planning carefully, cities
can become better places to live in and respect the countryside at the same
time.
(5)
(A problem in my community)
I have a problem in my city. I just went to the basketball court and it was
closed. There was a sign saying it isn't safe. Now, there is nowhere to play
basketball. I want to meet new friends, so I went to the local Community Center.
It's old and outdated and doesn't offer many activities for teens. The thing that
bothers me is that people are using their cars too much in the city and park their
cars on the sidewalk.

(6)
(A day out)
On Saturday morning, I plan to visit my grandparents with my parents. In the
afternoon, I'm going to the movie theater. I want to see the new action movie.
On Sunday. I'm getting a haircut at 3:00. On Monday, I'm having dinner with my
mom at 7:00.

59
(7)
(Real friends)
Real friends make life easy and give us good time. They always share and
support each other. Real friends don't just make plans; They keep them. Real
friends make you feel happy and included. You can have fun with them real
friends are always kind. They always care with you while fake friends leave you
feeling sad and alone.
(8)
(Using social media for a good cause)
Social media has the power to do great things. Social media is a great tool to
bring people together for a good cause. Our city needs more trees, but it doesn't
have enough money to plant more. I post the message on social media to raise
money and help to plant them. My friends see the post and share it with their
friends, too. Soon, many people give money and others offer to help plant the
trees. My project raises enough money to buy the trees and the work is done.
The park looks beautiful.
(9)
(How to stay in touch with friends)
To keep in touch with a friend who moved away, you can send messages
every day. Choose a time each week or month to talk online. take pictures of
things you see and share them; It's a fun way to show what's going on in your
life. Ask your parents if you can plan a visit. It's a good idea to find games you
both like and play together online. This can help you laugh and have fun even if
you are not in the same place.
(10)
(Spending time online)
Spending time online has become a daily routine for many people. People can
use the Internet for entertainment, education, and communication. Many
teenage children spend much of their time online. Research shows that some
teenagers spend huge amount of time looking at screen every day. This huge
amount of time doesn't include the time teenagers look at screens when they do
their homework. Many children like spending their time gaming. Gaming can be
bad for our children. Children should do other activities like going out and
playing sports with their friends.

(The impact of AI on our daily lives)
Artificial intelligence is a type of technology. It helps computer systems to do
tasks that usually only humans can do, such as making decisions or solving
problems. If you shop online, AI learns and remembers what you like to buy. If
you watch a lot of science fiction movies, the streaming platform shows you
suggestions for other science fiction movies to watch. Some people think that AI
encourages us to spend more time online because of its suggestions for more
things we can watch or listen to. but AI can also make learning fun and make
our lives easier.
(12)
(Digital habit)
This week at school, we are talking about digital habits. I thought about how,
when, and how often I use digital technology and I realized that my digital
habits are quite good. For example, I never watch videos or look at my phone
for too long in the evening. I usually read a book in the hour before I go to bed.
But I have one bad digital habit. I sometimes look at other people's photos on
social media and compare myself to them. Sometimes looking at these profiles
makes me feel like I'm not good enough. I'm going to stop looking at other
people's profiles and comparing myself to them from now on.

(13)
(Clean transportation)
Transportation is very important for all of us. Transportation helps us move
from one place to another. But transportation can cause many problems like air
pollution. Driving cars is bad for the environment. About 23% of all the wallets
carbon emissions come from cars. Vehicles that don't use clean fuel damage the
environment and cause health problems. Using clean transportation can help us
protect the environment. Clean transportation is anything you use to get
around that produces less carbon emissions than normal cars. Our vehicles need
to be either electric or use clean fuel. Carpooling is also a good idea. It's when
you travel in someone`s else car or take someone with you in your car. so,
carpooling can reduce the number of cars on the roads.

61
(14)
(A future city)
Today, there are many plans to build new green cities in Egypt. The planners
want these new cities to be small because that makes it easier for people to
travel around them without driving cars. The streets of these new cities will be
quiet and clean. No cars can go into the center of the cities, so you won't hear
any noise from cars or breathe any dirty air. The new green cities will have
many green spaces with grass trees and plants. Some of these green spaces will
be community gardens. In a community garden people can enjoy and grow
different things.

(Tips for reducing carbon emissions)
Carbon emissions are very dangerous. Driving cars is one of the reasons for
carbon emissions. Carbon emissions can cause many health problems. We
should work hard to radius these emissions. Electric vehicles are better for the
environment than cars that use dirty fuel. Travelling by bike is good for the
environment, but it can be dangerous on busy roads so we should have bike
lanes. The town council should help people to organize carpooling. More
carpooling means fewer cars.

(A visit to the pyramids)
Egypt is an amazing country. It has a lot of historical places, so many tourists
like visiting Egypt to enjoy these historical places. Last year, I spent my vacation
in Egypt it was a wonderful vacation. We visited the pyramids in Giza. A guide
told us lots of fascinating things about when they were built and why, and what
things were inside them. The only problem was the shuttle bus from the hotel. It
was busy when we couldn't get on it. We took a taxi which was quick and easy,
so it wasn't a problem. It was an amazing experience.

(Homestays)
In recent years, many people like to try doing a homestay. The homestay is a
trip where visitors stay in the home of another family. Homestays are beginning
to become a popular choice for travelers for many reasons. The owner of the
homestays gives you information about the things you can see and do nearby.
They can also help with transportation. You can stay for a night, a week, or
longer. Homestays can be more flexible than big resorts, which might not allow
shorter breaks had busy times of the year.

(Tourism)
Many people enjoy traveling to different cities. But when people travel it can
cause problems. When tourists visit the same place at the same time, this can
make famous places too busy and transportation can't work well. There are
different ways that can help people travel as well as protecting their planet.
Many professionals in the tourist industry think about ecotourism when they
plan vacations. They do things like visiting places where tourism is good for the
community. It's important to think about how visitors use natural resources. The
visitors should choose the right materials, for example it's not a good idea to use
single-use plastics as it's bad for the environment. When tourism is sustainable,
people can continue visiting all the beautiful and interesting places in our
world.
