Distinguished guests, teachers, pastors, families, friends, and my fellow graduates a good day to all
I, a graduating student, and I am honored and humbled to stand in front of everyone to share an
inspiring message.
This school year was a stepping stone for all of us to once again experience such events like this
happening face-to-face. It has been two school years already that was held completely online because of
the pandemic. And now we have gathered to mark the conclusion of one chapter of our lives and the
beginning of a new one. We could not have made it through the school year without God's grace. Yes,
our hard work in meeting all of the deadlines for our projects, assignments, researches, and activities
has helped us a great deal to be a part of this ceremony, nevertheless we wouldn't be here celebrating
one of the major milestones of our lives if it hadn't been for God's grace and the strength and power he
has given us to be able to accomplish all our tasks.
I know that I speak in behalf of all when I say that graduating brings us a mixture of intense emotions.
First of which is the feeling of great happiness, because who wouldn't be happy to be one step closer to
achieving our goals, followed by anticipation for what God had prepared for the next chapter of our
lives, and then relief, because finally this school year is done and vacation begins tomorrow, however
with these feelings of joy and excitement, there comes along with it the feeling of anxiety, regrets, in
denial, and the most powerful feeling of all, nostalgia. As we try to soak it all in that we are actually
graduating right now, I believe we’ll all agree that graduating is such a bittersweet moment. As much as
we are excited about the new chapter that awaits us, it is difficult and sad to leave behind the memories
we have made here, the familiarity of this place, the classmates and teachers we’ve been with for years,
and our friends whom we met here and had been with us since the beginning.
As we all continue on with our lives, I pray for one thing that we may never ever forget from this school.
And it is the opportunity we got to get to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It wasn’t merely a
coincidence that all of us studied and lasted years in HMIS, rather it was God’s absolute plan that led us
here in this school, with the teachers, evangelists, and pastors God has raised to preach the true gospel.
For most of us, including myself, and especially the grade 12 students who are set to start the new
chapter of their lives in another school, as we head out into the world, may we not be swept away by
the trends of this world, and by the wants of the flesh, but rather, may we transcend the world with the
light of Christ in us, for we are the children of God. We are not like everyone else; we are God's chosen
ones who will stand as a witness of how God is completely directing our lives.
I would like to take this time to thank our devoted teachers for their patience, love, and encouragement
for all of us. To ma’am cherry, our adviser, thank you ma’am for your encouragement and reminders for
us to pass our activities, and for the effort you have showed us, for us to have a more memorable school
year. And most importantly, thank you for your patience. To my classmates whom I’ve been with for
years, I want to thank you guys for the memories we've built together over the years.
To my friends, Romea, Arean, and Eizel, thank you guys because I know that I couldn't have survived the
ups and downs of this school year without you. What saddens me the most about graduation is starting
a new school year without you three.
Lastly but certainly not the least, to my ever-loving parents, thank you because like in all the past school
years I had, you were always there for me, supporting me in all ways that you possibly can. For my
allowance, for the caring and nourishment that you always provide me, thank you and I love you.
Before I conclude my speech, to my fellow graduates, I want to say congratulations to all of you. Your
hard work, your sleepless nights, tears, and failures have been all paid off as you graduate today. I hope
you will be able to take the time as well to express your gratitude to those who have been an amazing
support and source of motivation to all of you this school year. Above all this, may we not forget to
thank our Almighty God for allowing all of this to happen. Our awards, medals, and achievements mean
nothing when we don’t appreciate the life we have with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Once again, this has been, I thank you all for listening and to God be the glory!
