1. A library has 4 shelves. Each shelf contains 125 books. If 78 books were borrowed, how many

books are now in the library?

2. There are 968 students in a school. Out of these, 489 are girls. How many boys are there in the

school?

3. A farmer harvested 134 sacks of wheat. He sold 87 sacks and kept the rest in storage. How many

sacks of wheat are in storage now?

4. A toy factory produces 245 toys per day. How many toys will it produce in 12 days?

5. A fruit seller had 3,426 apples. He sold 2,168 apples in the morning and 789 apples in the

evening. How many apples does he have left?

6. A box contains 36 pencils. How many pencils are there in 58 boxes?

7. A man had Rs.8,750. He bought a cycle for Rs.3,425 and a helmet for Rs.1,125. How much

money is left with him?

8. There are 456 students going on a picnic. If 8 buses are used and each bus carries the same
