Health 9: Career Exploration Assignment
This assignment is intended to get you thinking about what you may want to do as a career and what
you will need to achieve this life goal. You will explore your own interests to find out what career option
appeals to you. From there you will dig further to find out which post-secondary institutions offer
courses and/or training to become qualified in the career you have chosen. Then you will search on
those school websites to find out what courses and marks you need coming out of high school in order
to be accepted to these programs. You will produce a PowerPoint Presentation/Google Slides
Presentation and a brief reflection regarding your findings.
PowerPoint Assignment Breakdown (28 marks)
1. SLIDE 1: Title of your Chosen Career (1 mark)
2. SLIDE 2: From your list of career matches on myBlueprints and the 6 career questionnaires you
did, list your top 5 career matches (5 marks)
3. Find two schools that offer training in your 1 chosen field.
SLIDE 3 & 4: Show 2 schools that offer this training and a brief intro to the training offered. Also
state the location and include a picture of the schools (8 marks)
4. Choose one of the schools and research (and record) the entrance requirements for their
program in your field.

5. SLIDE 6: List skills and character traits are necessary for your chosen career. (2 marks)

Write a paragraph and share it with me on google docs (7-10 sentences) explaining why you feel this
would be a good choice for your career. You should support this with sound reasoning and specific
evidence. This could come from past experiences you’ve had that relate to this career, compatibility
based on your skills and interests etc. Also make note of how your personality test results affect your
career choice.
