Inauguration Report
The inauguration ceremony was held on 16th June 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at
Vellalar College for Women. The event began with a solemn invocation followed by a warm
welcome address delivered by Dr. R. Parvathi, Principal i/c of Vellalar College for Women.
Her speech emphasized the institution's commitment to academic excellence and holistic
development.
The traditional lighting of the kuthuvilaku was carried out by dignitaries and students,
symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the dawn of knowledge. This was followed by
the Presidential Address by Thiru. C. Jayakumar, President of Vellalar College for Women,
who shared his vision for the institution's future and encouraged the students to pursue
their goals with determination.
Felicitations were offered by Thiru. S.D. Chandrasekar, Secretary and Correspondent, and
Thiru. P.K.P. Arun, Treasurer of Vellalar College for Women. They appreciated the efforts of
the faculty and management in nurturing academic excellence and infrastructure
development.
Ms. R. Shanthi, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science,
provided an informative overview of the college's infrastructure and facilities. Her
presentation highlighted the state-of-the-art resources and support systems available to
students.
Following this, Dr. J. Suguna, Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Science,
presented details regarding scholarships. She elaborated on various schemes available to
support meritorious and economically disadvantaged students.
The examination section was addressed by Dr. S.K. Kavitha, Controller of Examinations. She
explained the procedures, assessment methods, and recent advancements in the
examination system at the college.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. N. Vijaya, Associate Professor and Head of the
Department of Chemistry. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty
members, students, and guests for their presence and contributions to the successful
conduct of the inauguration ceremony.
The event concluded with a department meeting with parents and students from 12:00
noon to 1:00 pm, aimed at fostering better understanding and collaboration between the
institution and families.
