ID 2 - Module 1. Lesson 1-2

This document outlines a lesson on creating composite solids using CAD software, focusing on primitive commands for 3D geometric shapes such as boxes, wedges, cylinders, cones, spheres, pyramids, and toruses. It provides step-by-step instructions for drawing each shape, including command execution and coordinate specifications. The lesson aims to enhance skills in solid modeling for mechanical design applications.

RUS
Solid Modeling - includes working with crude shapes, for example, spheres, cubes,
and n-sided prisms. However, various projects may utilize method. Solid modeling
is much more useful in the design of a mechanical component. Solid and Regions

There are 7 types of solid primitive objects in AutoCAD, a) box, b) wedge, c) cyl-
inder, d) cone, e) pyramid, f) sphere, g) torus, and h) polysolid

CREATE BOX AND WEDGE

Box and Wedge commands have almost the same steps but differs in geometric
shape.
STEPS TO CREATE BOX OR WEDGE:
1. Execute BOX or WE command
2. Specify the first corner.
3. Specify the other corner
a. Options for other corner are Cube and Length

BOX – Create a 3D solid box. The base of the box is always drawn parallel to the
XY plane of the current UCS (work plane). The height of the box is specified in the
Z-axis direction. You can enter both positive and negative values for the height.
