Grammar
1 Countable and uncountable nouns

We can count countable nouns. These nouns have a singular and a plural form. We cannot count
uncountable nouns. These nouns are used as singular nouns and they have no plural form.

We use there is before singular countable


nouns and uncountable nouns. We use
there are before plural countable nouns.

3 How much and How many

We use how much to ask about the quantity of uncountable nouns. We use how many to ask about
the quantity of countable nouns.

5 Whose and possessive ’s

To ask about possession we use whose. We use ’s to show possession.
