CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

It is widely acknowledged that having a solid understanding of finance is essential for those
living in increasingly complex financial environments. When it comes to their financial lives, those
who are financially literate are able to make more efficient and proactive judgments. The study's
findings indicate that people's financial literacy is about average. When people's financial behavior
was examined, it was shown that the majority of them showed somewhat favorable financial
behavior. Additionally, it has been shown that financial literacy can improve people's aptitude for
making better decisions, which will ultimately result in sound financial behavior. Therefore, it
follows that a higher degree of financial literacy encourages prudent financial behavior (Sudeshna,
Thavva 2021).

The act of using one's money for a particular activity, such as making a purchase of goods or
vices, is known as spending habits. A good spending habit is also an essential tool for financial
success. Making wise spending decisions helps you reach your financial goals and makes your money
work harder for you (Bona, 2018). Having the best spending habits is another factor that could
influence financial satisfaction. As a result, the ability of an individual to manage their own finances
in order to make wiser financial decisions and improve their financial circumstances is a prerequisite
for financial pleasure (Azmi & Ramakrishnan, 2018).

However, as they mature and fulfill various academic requirements, students also learn how to
save their allowance for personal purchases. Among the practical skills that are helpful to them is
budgeting. It aids in improving their comprehension of financial issues that may provide a challenge
in the future. The way students handle their money varies depending on what they require on a daily
basis for many reasons. We will learn how and where students typically spend their money through
this study, which will help them meet their personal needs. Students are less likely to be in financial
trouble if they are more aware of their financial situation and responsibility and status the less likely
they are to be in debt (Norvilitis, et al., 2006).

A research by Novitilis, et al., (2006) found that women are more likely than males having to
report having a budget. According to Micomonaco (2003), all students require an allowance. It's a
means of surviving. Students who use it can also learn how to manage their finances. It is only fair to
say that students must be able to manage their allowance sensibly because it is so important. How to
go about it is the issue. Students must balance their allowance between their requirements and wants,
which makes this difficult. Additionally, some people only have a small sum of money. It's critical to
budget properly. It can meet the wants and desires of the pupils if carried out appropriately.

The daily spending habits of Surallah National High School students enrolled in Grade 11
Accountancy, Business and Management and Humanities and Social Sciences Senior High School the
focus of this study. Its main goal is to ascertain how students handle their allowance allocation and
budgeting processes, as well as what areas of their planning may require improvement. Finding out
more about the respondents’ everyday financial practices and the locations where they spend their
allowances is the main objective of this study. The main focus of the study will be on how each
student manages their allowance to maximize their daily, weekly, and even monthly financial
resources. Each student will have a different budget, and budgeting becomes more critical for those
living in dorms who are responsible for controlling their own daily spending.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study foundaims to find out the spending habits of Senior High School student at
Surallah National High School, specifically the researcher will seek answer to the following
questions:

[1.] What is the demographic profile of Grade 11 ABM and HUMSS students, relative to:o:

1.1 Age;

1.2 Gender; and

1.3 Daily Allowance?

2.What are the financial behaviour of Grade 11 students relative to:

1.4 Allowance Allocation;

[1.5]

1.5 Savings; and

1.6 Consumption?

2. Is there a significance difference between the financial practices between male and female?
NULL HYPOTHESIS

There is no significantce difference between the financial practices between male and
female Senior High School learners.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The results of the study will be beneficial to the following:

The Students. The study’s findings will have a big impact on students’ ability to allocate their
allowance more wisely, develop better saving practices, and make wiser purchasing decisions.

The Parents. By knowing the findings, parents will be better equipped to help their children
learn how to manage allowances and become financially responsible.

The Administrator. The study’s findings will assist administrators in better understanding the
financial difficulties that students encounter, enabling them to support initiatives or policies that
encourage students to manage their finances more responsibly.

The Researchers. The study will give the researchers important new information that will
enable them to investigate the relationship between students’ conduct and financial practices.
Additionally, it will increase understanding of the significance of sound financial
management.

Other Researchers. The findings of this study can serve as a guide for future researchers
looking to delve more into student financial behaviors, particularly in situations akin to classrooms. It
will act as a starting point for a more thorough examination of the distribution of allowances, savings,
and consumption trends.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS

The respondents of the study wereare the grade 11 academic strand learners from Surallah
National High School enrolled during the school year 2024-2025. The respondents, who possess
budgeting knowledge, are Grade 11 Accountancy, Business, and Management and Humanities and
Social Sciences Senior High School students. Each respondent will be given a questionnaire
to complete. To ensure the data collected is manageable, the study will use a questionnaire consisting
of multiple-choice questions. This will be used to evaluate and project how much money ABM and
HUMSS Senior High School students spend, where they spend it, and how they manage their
finances.
CHAPTER 2

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

A summary of the research conducted on the above topics, student financial literacy and
money management, is presented within this chapter. This should be the objective of a literature
review, which intends to investigate variables that affect the financial habits of students in general, or,
at least, how they allocate their allowance funds and the level of financial literacy of the students. The
study presented here refers to supporting empirical research and appropriate theories for the current
research work, and this chapter allows an opportunity to focus on the issue of filling gaps in the
available knowledge.

MONEY MANAGEMENT

One of the vital skills in life is money management, and for students who experience various
financial conditions within both academics and personal lives, this factor becomes all the more
essential. Though money might be a critical issue for anyone, the most crucial groups that would
most likely be affected would probably be students.

Increasingly, proper money management is very crucial, especially for any student or any
higher learning institution attendant, as it may influence their future and general welfare (Wan
Nawang et al., 2023). One of the great challenges that today’s youth are facing is the frivolous
expenditure of income, which may prove challenging to their families and most likely to cut across
into adulthood. It appears that technology and advertising influence youth’s financial decisions
(Bregu et al., 2023).

Money is something that plays a very important role in our daily life, especially when
uncertain economic times prevail. Many things in life can only be sustained with enough money. To
be sure, material security cannot guarantee happiness, but, after all, one would often need money for
all their activities of living. Both the student and working classes have to manage money well
(Kassim et al., 2022). The student behavior related to handling money does not change with a place
and even working hours (Majid et al., 2021).

In the current situation of the economy, ignoring money is not possible at all because most of
the needs are basic one and require money, therefore it must be inferred that managing money may be
important for students as well as, only for working people (Zulfaris et al., 2020).
Proper practice of money management is significantly important to meet financial success
targets. As students are the backbone of any nation, it is essential to prepare the students to exercise
sound financial habits for their self-benefit as well as for the betterment of society. Budgeting, saving,
investing, and managing the cash flow are considered a part of money management processes
(Indrani et al., 2019).

FINANCIAL LITERACY

Financial literacy is the ability to know and manage personal finance. It therefore entails
knowledge about essential financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investment, and even debt
management. In short, a financially literate person is one who can make informed decisions regarding
their finances-that is, manage resources appropriately, avoid excessive debt, and achieve their
financial objectives. It is clearly vital for the development of prudent money management habits and
longer-term financial security.

Firstly, personal finance management has become much more important today. The person
needs to plan for large future investments such as retirement and education of children, aside from
saving for short-term goals like trips, down payments on houses, car loans, and other big personal
expenses. Furthermore, there are also insurance requirements regarding medical and life coverages
(Chen & Volpe, 1998).

Generally, age has an influence on financial literacy, where older people possess better
financial knowledge (Margaretha & Artiani, 2015). Moreover, given the swelling of life expectancy
and the gearing-up of pension systems, there is an increasing trend of personal responsibility over
one’s own finances than ever before (Lusardi, 2019).

Importantly, financial literacy is a key component in understanding and improving financial

decision-making. However, while financial crises like the mortgage crisis and the rising bankruptcy
rates of households have presented a compelling case for effective financial education, standardized
measurement tools to quantify financial literacy remain minimal (Huston, 2012).

Additionally, financial market deregulation, easy access to credit, and the rapid growth in the
availability of different financial products make financial literacy all the more imperative. There is a
crying need for more studies on the concepts and products of Islamic finance despite considerable
literature available on conventional financial literacy (Marcolin et al., 2006). Financial literacy is also
crucial for achieving economic stability with the growth of the industry (Abdullah et al., 2014).

Globally, financial literacy is gaining recognition as an increasingly important consumer

capability in the more complex financial environment (Atkinson et al., 2012). Consequently, the low
levels of financial literacy threaten retirement security, underlining the need for targeted programs
aimed at specific subgroups within the population. For instance, Kebede et al. (2015) report that
enhancing financial literacy remains a critical factor in individual well-being and national
development. However, many developing countries, particularly African nations, continue to struggle
to achieve higher levels of financial literacy (Matewos et al., 2016).

Unfortunately, financial literacy is linked to several negative behaviors such as debt

accumulation, poor mortgage decisions, and home repossessions (Amagir et al., 2018). Even in more
developed countries, there remains ignorance and a lack of skills on how to manage finances sensibly
(Kebede et al., 2015).

Urgently, there is a need to increase financial literacy across the globe. According to Vieira
(2012), financial literacy is very important because, without it, an individual becomes handicapped,
and economic growth is heavily impeded. Thus, further research is required to advance knowledge
about such issues and improve financial education programs.

Interestingly, gender may not appear to be related to the financial literacy of business students
in Australia. However, more research with larger sample sizes is needed to further define and measure
the concept of financial literacy (Wagland & Taylor, 2009). Similarly, in Uzbekistan, Isomidinova and
Kartar Singh (2017) found that despite its necessity, the relationship between financial education,
agents of socialization, and attitudes toward money has yet to be fully explored among students.

Notably, Lantara and Kartini (2015) indicate that an individual’s financial literacy influences
the interest of society at large since informed individuals make rational decisions and hold businesses
accountable. Moreover, financial literacy consists not only of knowledge but also of the skills and
confidence to apply that knowledge effectively.

Finally, Tavares et al. (2019) conclude that university students mostly show low levels of
financial literacy. This implies that students need to be further educated, particularly on issues like
financial planning and long-term investment strategies. Improving the financial knowledge of the
youth is especially crucial for their future financial well-being.
This research investigates the influence of financial literacy, materialism, and allowance on
the saving decisions and consumptive behavior of Generation Z. Financial literacy plays a significant
role in shaping individuals’ ability to manage their money, make informed financial decisions, and
prioritize savings. For Generation Z, possessing adequate financial knowledge is crucial as it directly
affects their spending patterns and ability to save effectively. Materialism, characterized by an
excessive desire for material possessions, often leads to impulsive buying behaviors, resulting in a
decrease in savings and an increase in consumptive behavior. Additionally, the allowance or pocket
money that young people receive can influence their financial decisions, as it determines how much
they can save or spend. Generation Z, being exposed to social media and external pressures, often has
different financial priorities and challenges compared to previous generations. These factors
combined reveal the complex relationship between financial literacy, materialism, and allowance in
shaping the financial habits of young individuals today (Permatasari, Purwidianti, Handayani, &
Aryoko, 2023).

RESEARCH GAP

From all the above existing literature regarding financial literacy and money management of
high school students, there is a huge gap in understanding the specific financial behavior of students
at Surallah National High School. While several studies spoke about financial literacy in general,
lesser studies focus on localized contexts, especially in less-studied regions. This lack of targeted
research translates to a larger area that remains unexplored, characterizing the kinds of cultural,
socioeconomic, and environmental factors that shape financial choices for students in Surallah.
Furthermore, there are gender differences in financial behavior based on documented differences;
however, not enough comparative studies have been made within the settings of high schools,
especially among student populations of localized areas. What is more, at present, the impact of
financial literacy education on the effective money management of students is not studied in detail.
Therefore, there arises a necessary need for further studies as to how such education affects financial
decision-making. Meaningful gaps in the current research are the gaps in existing research. This
includes furnishing insights that may inform educators, policymakers, and parents as to how to
support students with effective money management skills tailored to their specific circumstances.

CONCLUSION

This concludes the literature review of the relevant aspects of money management among
senior high school students, such as the allocation of their allowance, savings practices, and
consumption behaviors. From these researches, researchers have gained insights into the
indispensable role of financial education, the role of family and peer influence in their financerelated
decisions, and a few findings about differences in behavior based on gender. These insights are
inalienably rooted to understand how Surallah National High School’s students manage their
finances.

This chapter, therefore, gives us a basis on which we will execute the subsequent phase of our
study, focusing on the elaborate analysis through data collection as well as statistical examination.
Then, the next chapter shall form and outline our methodology that guides our research so that
findings are reliable and valid.

DEFINITION

DEFINITION OF TERMS:

For better clarification and understanding of the terms related to this study, the following
terms are defined conceptually and operationally.
Senior High School Learners -– Conceptually, tThese are students in Grade 11 and 12,
usually ages 16 to 18, in the K-12 education system. In this study, refers to the senior high school
students of Surallah National High School who participated in the survey about the money
management.

Allowance Allocation -– Conceptually, tThis is how students divide or distribute their

allowance for different expenses. In this study, it refers to how the student manage their weekly or
monthly allowance, splitting it into categories like food, transportation, school supplies, and leisure
activities, as shown by their answers in the survey.

Savings -– Conceptually, tThis part of money that is saved rather than spent. In this research,
it refers to the money Senior High School learners put aside from their allowance for future needs or
emergencies, based on their responses.

Consumption- Conceptually, tThis refers to how students spend their money on goods and
services. In this study, it shows how Senior High School learners spend their allowances, whether for
necessities or non- essential items, based on the survey result.

Money Management- Conceptually, tThis is about budgeting, saving, and handling money.
In this study, it focuses on how Senior High School learners manage their allowances, like how they
divide if for savings and spending, based on the survey data.
CHAPTER 3

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter describes the methodology applied in investigating money management practices
of senior high school learners, particularly in allowance allocation, savings habits, and consumption
patterns for Grade 11 Accountancy, Business, and Management and Humanities and Social Sciences
students in Surallah National High School. A descriptive quantitative research method was employed
in this study to collect data about how students manage their finances and to identify differences in
financial behaviours between genders. Such findings can provide a clue to advising the development
of curricula for suitable financial literacy programs for students.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This research uses a quantitative - comparative study design. This research design is most
appropriate for this study, because it allows the collection of such data in quantifiable form that will
then be analyzed statistically. The study will be descriptive when portraying a true picture of the
financial practices that participants are adopting. The quantitative dimension will aid in identifying
patterns and correlations among various financial behaviours. Using this approach, the study will
provide objective findings that could be generalized to a broader population of senior high school
learners.

RESEARCH RESPONDENTS

This study will be undertaken with the participation of selected Grade 11 senior high school
students enrolled in the ABM and HUMSS academic track at Surallah National High School. Student
selection is based on their enrolment in these tracks, for this will be the key to understanding the
application of financial management practices. Respondents will be selected via fishbowl sampling,
ensuring that they have experience and knowledge pertinent to allowance management. This focused
approach will strengthen the validity of the study as the results will actually and directly reflect the
financial behaviours of students actively engaged in financial decision-making.

RESEARCH LOCALE

The chosen study locale is the Surallah National High School, at Baranggay Dajay
Surallah, South Cotabato, targeting specifically Grade 11 students enrolled in the
Accountancy, Business, and Management and Humanities and Social Sciences . This locale is
significant because it presents a relevant context for examining the financial management skills of
high school learners, particularly those who are pursuing a curriculum focused on business and
finance.

Figure 2: Geographical Map of the Research

SAMPLE SIZE AND SAMPLING METHOD

A sample size of 66 participants will be taken for this research because they will ensure a
balance between the manageability of data collection and the quest to find statistically meaningful
results. This number will allow examination of each response individually but should also be large
enough to pick eventual trends of broader student populations. Under the constraints of the study and
resources that are available, this sample size is large enough to address the posed questions.

Sample size is a statistical concept that involves determining the number of observations or
replicates (the repetition of an experimental condition used to estimate the variability of a
phenomenon) that should be included in a statistical sample. It is an important aspect of any empirical
study requiring that inferences be made about a population based on a sample. Essentially, sample
sizes are used to represent parts of a population chosen for any given survey or experiment. To carry
out this calculation, set the margin of error, ε, or the maximum distance desired for the sample
estimate to deviate from the true value. To do this, use the confidence interval equation above, but set
the term to the right of the ± sign equal to the margin of error, and solve for the resulting equation for
sample size, n. The equation for calculating sample size is shown below.

Where

z is the z score
ε is the margin of error N is the
population size p̂ is the
population proportion

RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS

The primary instrument for data collection will be a structured self-made questionnaire for the
purpose of data gathering for this research activity. Only closed-ended questions will be included in
the questionnaire. Questions regarding the demographic profile of participants, their age, and gender
are included, along with financial behaviour, allocation of daily allowance, savings behaviour, and
consumption pattern. The questionnaire will undergo validation by experts to ensure its clarity and
reliability before being administered to the respondents.

DATA COLLECTION

The Self-made questionnaire waswill be administered to the selected respondents during

designated school hours for data collection. The aim and objective of the research study will then be
explained, and respondents assured that their rights be protected and that they are free to discontinue
participation at any moment. Informed consent will be sought from each selected participant, and
when applicable, from their parents or guardians. The collection process will be sensitive and private
in such a way that all the responses gathered will not be traceable to any individual and will not be
used for any other purposes outside of the research.
DATA ANALYSIS

After data has been collected, results from the surveys shall be statistically analyzed.
Descriptive statistics, like means, frequencies, and percentages, shall then be used to summarize what
the participants have indicated in terms of their financial behaviours.

A Five-Point Likert Scale was used to evaluate the money practices of the Grade 11 ABM and
HUMSS student. This scale ranges from “Always” at the highest level of agreement to “Never” at the
lowest. Respondents will indicate their level of agreement with various statements concerning their
money practices, allowing for a thorough analysis of data collected from the study. The
methodologies and interpretations outlined below will guide the analysis of the data.

CHAPTER IV

DATA ANALYSIS, RESULT AND DISCUSSION

This chapter presents a quantitative analysis of student demographic and financial data. The
dataset encompasses several key variables, including academic strand, age distribution, gender, year
level, and daily allowance. The analysis will explore the allocation of allowances, savings behavior,
and consumption patterns among the student population. These findings will contribute to a deeper
understanding of student financial literacy and practices. The results will be presented and discussed
within the context of existing literature on youth financial behavior.

The table presents the demographic profile of the respondents, including their academic
strand, age, gender, and daily allowance. The majority of the respondents belong to the HUMSS
strand (77.27%), while the ABM strand comprises 43.94% of the total respondents. This indicates
that the study predominantly reflects the financial behaviors of HUMSS students.

Regarding age distribution, most respondents are 16 years old (48.48%), followed by 17-
year-olds (42.42%), with only a few aged 18 (6.06%) and 19 (3.03%). This suggests that the study
captures the financial habits of students in their mid-to-late teenage years.

In terms of gender, the respondents are equally divided between male (50%) and female
(50%), ensuring a balanced representation for analyzing gender-based financial behavior differences.

For daily allowance, the majority of students receive ₱50 and below (54.55%), followed
by those who receive ₱51-101 (37.88%). A smaller percentage gets ₱101-150 (7.57%), while only
1.52% receive more than ₱200. The data suggests that most students have a limited budget, which
may affect their spending and saving behavior.

The table illustrates how students allocate their allowance. The results show that students "often"
(Mean = 3.61) plan their expenses before receiving their allowance, meaning they have a general
strategy for managing their money. However, they only "sometimes" (Mean = 3.27) divide their
allowance to ensure it lasts for the whole week, suggesting possible budgeting struggles.
Additionally, students "often" (Mean = 3.44) prioritize school-related expenses, indicating financial
responsibility. However, a notable percentage also spends on recreational activities "sometimes"
(Mean = 3.39). Alarmingly, students "never" (Mean = 1.05) track their expenses, which may lead
to inefficient financial management.

Overall, the findings indicate that while students attempt to allocate their funds wisely, there is a need
for better budgeting strategies and expense tracking.

The data reveals that students "sometimes" (Mean = 3.64) set aside a portion of their
allowance for savings before spending. They also "sometimes" (Mean = 3.44) save for long-term
goals or unexpected expenses. However, the fact that they only "sometimes" (Mean = 3.18) use
separate accounts or containers for savings suggests that their saving habits may not be well-
structured.

Additionally, students "sometimes" (Mean = 3.25) feel motivated to save even if the
amount is small. However, the relatively moderate rating suggests that saving may not be a priority
for many students.
C. Consumption Mean Verbal Interpretation
I prioritize my spending based on my needs and 3.757576 Often
wants.
I spend most of my allowance on needs rather than 3.621212 Often
wants.
I avoid impulsive buying when I see something I like. 3.166667 Sometimes
I feel satisfied with how I manage my consumption 3.393939 Sometimes
habits.
I compare prices and quality before making purchase. 4.136364 Often
MEAN 3.615152 Often

The results indicate that students "often" (Mean = 3.76) prioritize spending based on their
needs and wants. The majority "often" (Mean = 3.62) spend more on necessities than on luxuries,
showing responsible financial behavior.

However, impulsive buying remains an issue, as students "sometimes" (Mean = 3.16) make
unplanned purchases. Furthermore, students "sometimes" (Mean = 3.39) feel satisfied with their
financial management, indicating room for improvement. Interestingly, students "often" (Mean =
4.13) compare prices and quality before purchasing, showing that they make conscious financial
decisions.

Table 3. t- Test
CATEGORY N MEAN STANDARD Z P VAUE INTERPRETATION

Male 66 3.51 0.51 -2.02 0.04 There is significant

difference

Female 66 3.36 o.83 -2.02 0.04 There is significant

difference

The hypothesis test (p-value = 0.04237) rejected the null hypothesis that the average of
Group 1 equals the average of Group 2, indicating a statistically significant difference (Z = -
2.029841). The small effect size (d = 0.22), however, suggests the magnitude of this difference (0.15)
is relatively small, despite being statistically significant at the chosen alpha level. The 95%
confidence interval for the difference between means did not include zero, further supporting the
rejection of the null hypothesis.

The table examines whether there is a significant difference in financial practices between
male and female students. The Z-test results show that the p-value (0.04) is less than the
significance level (0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. This means that there is a
statistically significant difference between the financial behaviors of male and female students.

Further analysis reveals that females tend to have slightly higher mean values in
financial practices compared to males, indicating that they may be more financially disciplined in
terms of budgeting, saving, and consumption. However, the effect size (d = 0.22) is small, suggesting
that while the difference is significant, it is not substantial.

This finding implies that gender may play a role in financial decision-making among
students, but other factors such as financial literacy, personal habits, and socio-economic background
could also contribute to differences in money management.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

The demographic data suggests that most students have limited financial resources, which
could impact their budgeting and spending habits. The analysis of financial practices highlights areas
where students demonstrate responsibility (such as prioritizing school expenses) and areas that need
improvement (such as expense tracking and saving consistency). Finally, the Z-test confirms that
financial behaviors differ slightly between male and female students, with females showing more
structured financial habits.

CHAPTER V

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

CONCLUSION

Financial literacy is a crucial skill that enables individuals to make informed and effective
financial decisions. It involves understanding basic financial concepts such as budgeting, saving,
investing, and responsible spending. According to Lusardi and Mitchell (2014), financial literacy is
directly linked to an individual’s ability to manage resources efficiently, avoid financial distress, and
achieve long-term financial stability. Among students, financial literacy is particularly important as it
helps them develop responsible spending habits and prepare for future financial independence.
Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn: Financial literacy among
students is at a developing stage, with varying levels of awareness and discipline in budgeting and
saving. While students demonstrate a level of financial responsibility, many still lack structured
financial planning, particularly in savings and long-term goal setting.

Gender differences in financial habits suggest that targeted financial education programs
may be beneficial in addressing the specific needs of both male and female students. There is a need
for increased awareness and guidance on proper money management to help students become more
responsible in handling their finances.

RECOMMENDATION

Financial literacy is crucial for students' long-term well-being. Students should track daily
expenses, prioritize saving a portion of their allowance, and differentiate between needs and wants to
curb impulsive spending. Parents can foster financial responsibility by discussing budgeting and
savings with their children and emphasizing long-term financial planning. Schools can implement
financial literacy programs and integrate financial education into existing curricula. Future research
should investigate the long-term effects of financial literacy programs and explore factors influencing
student spending habits, such as peer pressure and family income. Ultimately, increased emphasis on
financial literacy education empowers students to make informed financial decisions and achieve
financial stability.
CHAPTER IV
DATA ANALYSIS
This chapter presents a quantitative analysis of student demographic and financial data. The
dataset encompasses several key variables, including academic strand, age distribution,
gender, year level, and daily allowance. The analysis will explore the allocation of
allowances, savings behavior, and consumption patterns among the student population. These
findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of student financial literacy and practices.
The results will be presented and discussed within the context of existing literature on youth
financial behavior.
