Many people prefer to watch foreign films rather than locally produced films. Why
could this be? Should governments give more financial support to local film
industries?
In this day and age, many individuals are inclined to watch foreign movies instead of
domestically produced films. In this essay, I will shed light on the feasible -> possible
reasons and why governments should subsidize local movies.
To commence, expat-favored -> foreign films are abundant in number across the
globe so that many tend to prefer foreign ->those films rather than domestic ones. It is
because of the fact that external -> imported films contain -> consist of different sorts
of movies such as action, humorous/comedy or drama; hence, there are many
selections for film buffs. AnOther compelling reason for this phenomenon is the film
crew’s investment in their series -> cinematic works/products. When watching a
foreign movie, it is irrefutable (that) its video quality, from visual to sound effect,
which is difficult to find their mistake-> virtually impeccable/ explemplary. For
example, Avatar, when it was first released, drew millions of viewers all over the
world, thanks to the meticulousness of the film crew/producers in their behind-the-
stage efforts in perfecting its graphics and sound effects. Last but not least, there are
many films that are blockbuster, achieving many eminent prizes are fascinating and
attract a huge fan. To illustrate, …
Nevertheless, should -> Is it the government’s obligation be to allocate money to
domestic film industries? From my perspective, it depends on the nation's economy.
In particular, with an affluent country, governmental bodies should subsidize this field
of entertainment. Due to the high level of development, the nation's citizens will not
be concerned about the shortage/dearth/paucity of money; thus, the government
should -> is supposed to support locally-produced movies for enhancing relaxation
and amusement which can reduce the depression and anxiety in a body’s
subconsciousness -> fast-paced society. By contrast, with an impoverished country,
the government should concentrate on fostering the economy, and help citizens access
-> obtain a decent standard of living for facilitating. For instance, in Africa, where
millions of children are still deprived of education due to poverty, the government
should allot/channel large part of their funds to building schools and providing food
rather than producing films, which serve a small population of the country.
To conclude, it is my firm conviction that watching film is one of the best methods for
relishing -> unwinding/de-stressing. However, not all countries possess sufficient
profit -> finances or talents for serving citizens; hence, enjoying in foreign films is not
a bad way to get/obtain pleasure.
