Features of Irrigation Plan:

1. Topographic data- shows information of the field, it shows data for areas where
elevated, the temperature, etc.

2. Water source capacity- the place where water source is located, the amount of water
in gallons

2. Water license- legal license to draw water from sources

3. Design parameters- helps in knowing the accurate design of the irrigation
system, as well as its water capacity and climate data

4. Design data- the data for new amount of water and application rate
Advantages and Disadvantages of Irrigation plan:

Advantages:

● It helps to preserve the structure of the topsoil

● Irrigation manages to give fast manufacturing by preventing deficiency of water
● The more production rate intensifies, the more living standard of the farmer
increases
● Prevents Famine

Disadvantages:

● Irrigation sometimes creates unrestrained excretion water

● It might turn the area into a wet and sweaty surface
● Not every time irrigation is affordable

Occupational Safety:

Occupational safety is a program for workers (including farm owners) in order to

prevent hazards and lower the risk of factors that can end up harming them. It is
important for farmers to be mentally and physically prepared whenever an
emergency strikes.

Hazard vs Risk:

● Hazard is something that can cause harm to workers, meanwhile Risk is

the probability of harm taking place.

Chemical Fertilizer Advantages and Disadvantages:

Advantages:

● It is Affordable And Cheap

● Fast Results in plants
● High production
● Has good adaptability

Disadvantages:

● Can cause salt burns

● It does not promote Eco-friendliness
● Can cause overfertilization
● Does not improve soil structure

Organic Fertilizer Advantages and Disadvantages:

Advantages:

● Improves soil structure

● Eco-friendly
● Reduces Pesticides and Fertilizers
● No toxic buildup

Disadvantages:

● Expensive
● Slow effectiveness
● May not contain primary nutrients
● Takes longer for plants to grow

Importance of PPE:

PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment. It is vital for workers in

order to avoid any physical harm or hazards in the workplace. It increases
the quality of work and not only that, it saves lives as well.

Benefits of Cleaning, Storing, and Proper Waste Management:

● Promotes Cleanliness
● Promotes being organized
● Minimizes pollution and energy consumption of factories
● Promotes good health to people
● Conserves natural resources
● Promotes Efficiency for workers.

Importance of Aquaculture:

Aquaculture is important in our country’s economy. It is also vital for its

food resources. Filipinos adore fishes especially in their viands and meals,
which also help since aquaculture regulates in fishes. It is also a good
source of entrepreneurship, which also strikes back directly to our
country’s economy.

Why Do You Need To Study Fishery Production:

● It helps in food for billions of people around the world, as fish is an

important part of human’s diet
● Safe ways in Fishery Production that can help regulate water life
● Helps in the ecosystem, we can get resources without harming
fishes and other life
● Fishery Production is the key component of biodiversity
● Fishery Production is vital for a country’s economy, it helps give
people jobs
● Fishery Production brings us more awareness of fishes and other life
under the sea. In this way we can have a deeper understanding of
how well-decorated our planet earth truly is.

Summary:

Lesson 1: Fishery Tools help fishers to harvest fish in a safe and delicate
manner, without harming the water’s habitat and ecosystem.

Fish Farming Tools:

1. Water pump
2. Suction Hose
3. Aeration Devices
4. Boats and Docks
5. Submersible cages and nets
6. Filters

Aquaculture Facilities:
1. Fishpond
2. Fish tank
3. Fish pen
4. Fish cage

Lesson 2: Planning is key to success. With preparation, A fish farm owner

will strive to great benefits once they have a clear layout plan for their fish
farm.

ESTIMATING QUANTITY AND COST OF MATERIALS- important so we can

see the list of materials as well as their material cost. Keep in mind the
budget in hopes of not getting bankruptcy.

ESTIMATING TIME NEEDED TO COMPLETE A WORK ACTIVITY- Project

Programming is the list of activities a fish farm owner needs to do
regarding their pond layout.

CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES- where we can see the schedule of

development of the fish pond

Tasks of a fishpond owner and operator:

1. He or she plans ahead of time
2. He or she keeps all fish farmers well-informed with their tasks
3. He or she ensures that the work plan is followed
4. He or she forms a working team to carry out the plan

Work Activity in Fishpond Culture:

1. Fishpond Preparation
2. Stocking Of Fingerlings
3. Fertilization (Two types: Organic Fertilizer and Inorganic Fertilizer)
4. Feeding
5. Growth Checking
6. Harvesting

Lesson 3: Layout Plan, especially in accurate and well-detailed one, is

important for fishponds.

SCALES are series of items increasing/ decreasing in size

Tips for scaling:

1. Given scale should divide every dimension or linear measurement in
the surface
2. The drawing of the same dimension of the lot becomes smaller if the
scale is changed to a bigger value
3. The drawing or figure of the original dimension of a lot becomes
larger if the scale is changed to a smaller value from the original
scale

FISHPONDS are artificial body of water that has parts in order to sustain
life. Parts include canals, pipe, gates

Common units of a fishpond:

1. Nursery Pond (NP)
2. Transition Pond (TP)
3. Rearing Pond (RP)
4. Catching Pond (CP)
5. Feed Pond (FP)
6. Water Supply Canal

Types of Dikes:
1. Primary Dike
2. Partition Dike (Has two dikes: Secondary dike and Tertiary Dike
GATES help control the water in the pond, in order for it not to overflow.

Types of Gates:
1. Main gate
2. Secondary gates
3. Tertiary gates

Other Pond Support Structures:

1. Drainage Canal
2. Flumes
3. Pumps
4. Acelators

TANKS are large containers used to store fish.

Fish Tank Designs:

1. Sand Filter Tank
2. Larval Rearing Tank
3. Live Food Production Tank

FISH PENS AND CAGES are commonly used in open water fishing areas in
order to maintain fishes in that certain location. It is important to
remember that its design must be durable, easy to set-up, and safe for the
economy, yet simple.

Types of Cages:
1. Fixed Type
2. Floating Fish Cage
