Descriptive research is often used as a pre cursor to more quantitatively research designs, the general
overview giving some valuable pointers as to what variables are worth testing quantitatively.
Quantitative experiments are often expensive and time consuming so it is often good sense to get an
idea of what hypotheses are worth testing.
DISADVANTAGES Because there are no variables manipulated, there is no way to statistically
analyze the results. Many scientists regard this type of study as very unreliable and unscientific . In
addition, the results of observational studies are not repeatable, and so there can be no replication of
the experiment and reviewing of the results.
SURVEY
Survey research is one of the most important areas of measurement in applied social research. The
broad area of survey research encompasses any measurement procedures that involve asking
questions of respondents. A survey can be anything forms a short paper and pencil feedback form
to an intensive one on one in depth interview. Survey may be used to reveal summary statistics by
showing responses to all possible questionnaire items. It often provides leads in identifying needed
changes. May be used to explore relationships between 2 or more variables.
OBSERVATION
In marketing and the social sciences, observational research (or field research) is a social research
technique that involves the direct observation of phenomena
The Effects Of Long Term Use Of A Computer On Median,...
In the journal article Influence of long term use of a computer on median, ulnar and radial
sensory nerves in wrist region , a study was done between computer users and none computer
users. The result showed that the nerves that are located in the wrist region (ulnar and median
nerves) gets damaged even without and neurological dysfunctions, just because the wrist part is
being extended while typing or using the mouse (Bamac, Belgin, et al., 1033.) on the website of
U.S. library of medicine it is stated that ulnar nerve damage can cause complications like
deformity of hand, partial or complete loss of hand/wrist movement or sensation in hand/fingers
etc. This is just one of the few health problems that we are facing or about to face as a new big
problems if we keep using computers limitless. Another way the computers hurts a student is by
hurting their capability to focus on study while working through a computer. Teens tend to have
very playful mind and it s already hard for them to focus on boring thing like study. So when they
are in front of the computer screen, how can you expect them to pay their 100 percent attention to
study? Plus they have the Internet and growing social media uses and gaming just lights up the fire
more. So, why we allow them to be in front of the computer for study? Is that become so
impossible to make the kids study without the use of a computer? Some people say it s easy and
entertaining way to study for the kids and they learn better. Agreed.
The Effect Of Various Chemicals On Chili Peppers And The...
The investigation of pungency: qualitative and quantitative study of the various chemicals in chili
peppers and the fibers they activate Abstract: chili pepper is famous for producing pungency, the
main ingredients in which, capsaicin, can activate the fibers underlying the skin responsible for
pain and hotness. In addition, capsaicin is also suggested to have desensitization on fibers
responsible for pain and taste. As currently little research is conducted to investigate its specific
mechanism, this paper aim to solve that problem by handing a comprehensive proposal. In
addition, it will also certify the previous hypothesis that the activation of fibers may influence the
reward system in the brain, which in turns gives people a feeling of pleasure and addiction. In order
to draw these conclusions, fiver studies are proposed. Study 1 will primarily focus on the effect
various chemicals in chili peppers could produce as well as compare and sequence those chemicals
from the most to the least effective. High Performance Liquid Chromatography is required to
examine the content. As it is suggested previously, Study 2 will study the desensitization effect of
capsaicin to fibers responsible for mechanical stimulation with application of technics like
microneurography and other psychophysical methods. Study3, primarily, will examine the effect of
capsaicin through brain activity to test if the release of certain chemicals (e.g. dopamine) is
consistent with the reduction of the
The Scent Of Green Mango

10 year old girl, Mui played by Lu Man San who was hired to be the servant of a wealthy merchant

necessary daily tasks such as cooking and cleaning which Mui does with grace. As Mui performs her

Soon after a young boy enters, walking to the dinner table asking the father to go for some tea with
his friend.
Within these three minutes I saw how the director and cinematographer used camera movement to
show the audience the family s dynamic through the eyes of Mui. The opening shot beginning at
11:00 started off in a low angle, medium wide shot. Which then led the camera to follow the
mistress and Mui from the outdoor kitchen into the house. As Mui got to the dinner table the
camera ended up in a wide shot revealing the father and sons seated at the dinner table all taking
place in one continuous long shot, tilting and panning according to the movement of the actors. As
Mui walked off screen the there was a seamless edit, cutting to Khuyen entering the screen asking
for permission to go for some tea with his friends. From there, there were a few quick cuts getting
reaction shots of the two young boys and their father. The next shot began with an immediate pan
left as Mui was walking into the shot, the mistress was also walking into the shot coming down the
stairs. They were coming from two different directions but they both landed in the frame at the
same time. The camera was set in a position where they were able to get both actors crossing paths
and as they reached the same point in the frame the camera panned displaying the father and kids at
the table in a medium wide shot. In

Identify and evaluate sources of equity financing
There are several factors that guide the choice among debt financing and equity financing such as
potential profitability, financial risk and voting control. Equity financing is a method used to obtain
capital in order to finance operations, growth or expansion. Sources of equity financing are
extremely important. Major sources of equity financial are Retained Earnings, sale of stock, and
funds provided by venture capital firms. Profits that are kept and reinvested are called Retained
earnings, which is a very attractive source fund due to the savings it provides to the entity by not
paying the interests, dividends or underwriting fees related to issuing securities. This source of
financing does not dilute ownership, but it
How Did The Rise Of Mayan Civilization
The rise of civilizations significantly increased as the world made its shift from the Paleolithic Era
to the Neolithic Era and onward. The Mayan civilization arose as a part of Mesoamerica during the
sixteenth century. Occupying the regions of Central America and Mexico, the Mayans had a strong
impact on the world with militaristic and influence from the invention of advancements. The
earliest record of the Mayan existence dates back to circa 400 B.C. The Mayan Civilization
extended over a time period dating back to 400 B.C to approximately 1517 A.D. This domination
lasted for approximately 1200 years until their mysterious disappearing. This civilization hit its

The Mayan territory charted to populate the areas of Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Ecuador, El
Salvador, and the southern tip of Mexico. Overpopulation began to occur as the growth of the
empire extended. Urban areas surrounding the large trade cities including Tikal and Chichen Itza,
often had populations over 2000 people. Rural areas which were agriculturally dependent, were
often populated with 200 400 people. The main centers of trade and urban areas were constructed
out of limestone. This limestone was easily taken over by growing plants in which overtook the
area. Deforestation then occurred to make more level farming area to provide food to the inhabitants.
Tikal was home to rainforests and was one of the first cities to experience the downfall. According to
NASA, They had to burn 20 trees to heat the limestone for making just 1 square meter of the lime
plaster they used to build their tremendous temples, reservoirs, and monuments (Coulter, 20). The
burning of these trees resulted in detrimental environmental issues in which would soon harm to
Mayan civilization due to removing carbon from the air. The Mayan civilization continued to
undergo climate changes. Severe drought was brought upon the area following the deforestation.
The Mayan civilization was prone to tropical climate in which influenced their making of the
calendar. High rainfall was normal to the area and benefitted the

Mira takes us down the path of the challenges she now faces as a mother and within her cultural
Indian background. Culturally, in various situations a woman is guilty until proven innocent, thus
leaving Mira with nothing in her cultural background that can be used to help her with this situation.
Growing up with clear ideas of right and wrong, where women must be pure until they are married,
she realizes that her daughter is now an outcast in her own native India and that she will never be
accepted there. Moreover, she then sadly reflects that her daughter will also not be accepted in
America with the stigma of teenage pregnancy and being culturally
Essential Elements Of The Christian Worldview Are Faith,
Essential elements of the Christian worldview are Faith, Love, Forgiveness and Living in Christ.
These key elements are fundamental to Christ s teachings and also reflect my own worldview.
These four elements are an integral part of a Christian believer s life and defines our relationship
with God. The fourth element, Living in Christ, is comprised of many sub elements like praise,
prayer, and bearing witness. These sub elements could be described as fruits of a Christian s believer
s daily life.
Too much of the Christian worldview s attention is focused on reconciling the Bible with science
and archaeological discoveries when it should be focused on redemption. The theme of the Bible
could be summarized into four categories Creation, ... Show more content on [Link] ...
God created man in His own image. Some traces of God s characteristics can be seen in mankind
such as love, kindness, compassion and justice.
Humanity
The Bible says that man, made in the image of God, is also spirit. It is man s spirit that communes
with the Holy Spirit. God also gave man a free will which allows man to love God willingly. Man
created in the image of God has remnants of his character which includes the capability to love, a
reason of a high level, and communicate with God. Man was also created with a sense of justice
and morality. However, sin also resides in our nature and led to the fall of Adam and Eve.
The purpose of man is to praise and worship God, proclaim his glory, and to accomplish his will.
... And whom I have created for My glory, ... (Isaiah 43:7 New International Version). God created
all things in harmony. He established a perfect creation that he loves and over which he rules. The
highest honor is given to mankind as the only part of creation made in God s image. Humanity was
created to love as God loves, to worship and praise his glory and commune with him as he does with
us.
However, much of humanity is overly concerned with their own self serving, self centered agenda
which is a form of idolatry. Many individuals worship whatever their life is ordered around, failing
to see it in the light of the glory of God. Humanity relentlessly departs from the path God had
intended for them. True
