Gender Roles In Civilizations
From prehistory to 1450 CE, in many different and complex civilizations, religion has influenced
the gender roles of many societies. From prehistory to 600 BCE, in Mesopotamia, women could
own property, maintain their dowry, and even trade. However, from 600 BCE to 600 CE, in
Rome, women were completely under the control of their paterfamilias. Than, from 600 to 1450
CE, in the Byzantine Empire, women were constrained to their homes, and when they went out,
they had to wear veils over their faces. Religion influenced the gender roles of many societies and
civilizations from prehistory to 1450 CE. From prehistory to 600 BCE, gender roles have been
influenced by religion in many civilizations. In ancient Mesopotamia, The Mesopotamian woman
s role was strictly defined. She was the daughter of her father or the wife of her husband. Women
rarely acted as individuals outside the context of their families. Those who did so were usually
royalty or the wives of men who had power and status (University of Chicago). In Mesopotamia s
polytheistic religion, women were only known as the mother of a son, or the wife to a husband.
This was influenced by the religion because the many gods influenced how men and women were
treated in Mesopotamia. This is similar to how women were treated in another civilization at the
time, Israel. In Israel, women would not own property or get a divorce, and, if involved with
extramarital relations, would be put to death. According to the Oxford Research
Broadcasting Decision Rtc Case Summary
Case Summary of Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2004 271
Founded in 1996, Genex Communications, Inc. is a Quebec City based private broadcasting
group with interests in the sports, radio, web property, and indoor advertising industries
(Bloomberg, 2017). From 1997 to 2004, the company owned CHOI FM Québec, Quebec City s
most popular radio station (Ha, 2004). After its first license to operate CHOI FM concluded in
August 2001, Genex was questioned by the CRTC over its failure to honour conditions of the
license, such as keeping logger tapes and meeting the quota for French language music. A high
volume of public complaints (47 from 1997 to 2001) also led the CRTC to establish that CHOI FM
aired abusive comment, offensive on air contests, personal ... Show more content on [Link]

Genex was also fully aware of the potential consequences of ignoring its license requirements or
broadcast law. Public complaints against the broadcaster had quadrupled. Abusive content on
CHOI FM violated both the law and the conditions of Genex s license, and it was not an honest
mistake; instead it reflected a pattern of behaviour ... that continued and grew even worse over ...
two consecutive license terms despite clear, unequivocal warnings from the Commission, the
CBSC and even ... [Genex s] own advisory committee (CRTC, 2004). Genex had done nothing to
censure its most abusive morning talk show hosts, Fillion and André Arthur; instead, it gave
them even bigger roles. Genex s proposed changes were unsatisfactory and its senior executives
did not recognize their legal responsibility for the actions of CHOI FM participants. The CRTC
decided that giving Genex a legal order to follow the Radio Regulations, or temporarily
suspending its license to operate CHOI FM, would not be good solutions because Genex showed
no sign of realizing its mistakes and duties or making real changes in the future. For all of these
reasons, the CRTC decided not to renew Genex s license at all, and the company lost all rights to

Silver Nitrate Test Lab Report
This reaction is observed to be an SN1 reaction which was later verified by the silver nitrate test.
The percent yield obtained for mass was 28.9%. The reason the percent yield was low could be
due to the loss of product. This could have happened in several ways including the loss of the
organic phase during extraction where too much of the organic phase could have been extracted
resulting in less of the product being formed. The lower percent yieldmay also be due to the reaction
not going to completion, resulting in fewer product formed. Additionally, impurities in the
product also yield less of the product. Incorrect measurements of the graduated cylinder may have
also led to a decreased yield. The weight of the graduated cylinder may have no been accurate if
excess water was present leading to added weight. Also, the filter paper used in the gravity
filtration may have also not been able to hold all the crystals and have allowed some to pass through
leading to incorrect mass of product.... Show more content on [Link] ...
When an aqueous solution is added to a salt, NaCl, it causes it to be insoluble in water and
therefore be recovered later on by having it crystalized. This is referred to as salting out, meaning
that the polar organic compounds, which are soluble in water, are extracted into a nonpolar
solvent. This is useful when it comes to drying of the aqueous extraction via the drying agent and
in removing excess water from the organic solvent. Moreover, the drying agent used in this
experiment was the Na2SO4. The drying agent allows for removal of water; however, if too much
drying agent is used, it could lead to lose of the organic solvent by absorption. This may lead to a

conviction, the crowd defies O Hare, with his own henchmen expelling him from the town. The
seed is finally planted, and Audrey kisses Ted on the cheek. Time passes and the land starts to
recover; new trees sprout, the animals begin to return, and the redeemed Once ler is happily reunited
with the Lorax who has also returned.
LESSON The story is all about taking care of mother nature. The movie has a lot of messages.
First, it is telling us to stop deforestation and pollution. Second, it tells us not to use too much of
one thing. Third, it s telling us to recycle things that can be recycled. The story is also trying to
tell people that if its only one person doing a good thing and the rest are not, nothing good will
result from the person s good did. The movie leaves an amazing message to the viewers, Unless
someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It s not.
ARTISTRY I liked the artistry of the movie. It is a light, bouncy, and candy colored movie. I liked
how they made everything to be easily understood by the children. The movie was really colorful
and an eye opener. How they portrayed the Truffula Trees was really good. The trees were really
colorful. The musics used in the movie were really nice
My Experience In Counselling
My first experience with counselling was when I was roughly 17 years old. Back then I was a
part of the people who believed in the myths surrounding counselling, back then it was my last
option but I can still look back and say that I took that decision on my own and I was prepared to
face resistance which I did, in the form of my parents who thought that it was an option for people
who had gone mad . Overcoming these resistances I finally went ahead for counselling and to my
absolute disappointment, the sessionwas useless and at times even offensive to me. The counsellor
asked me my age and started telling a long list of problems I may be facing. She didn t stop there
and then asked me about my weight and any problems that I may be having... Show more content on

The first of which are issues that are personal to me, I realise that there are experiences in my past
that may hinder me as a counsellor the most important of which is my inability to maintain eye
contact with another person which wasn t an issue in the past years but in the counselling session
might convey a very negative impression to the client for they may interpret it as my disinterest.
This issue has prompted me to go to personal therapy and also has increased the relevance and
importance of personal therapy in my eyes. Through this experience I have also realised how
unresolved issues in the past can impact the counselling process with or without you being aware
about them. There are many areas that I need to work on expect this and the major among them is
my competence as a counsellor, I still need to develop various professional skills that I will be
required to employ in the counselling session and that is something I believe I will gain from my
course. The most important thing that believe I need to work on are my own beliefs about
counselling, for a long time I didn t realise that despite being trained for becoming a counsellor I
never realised that even to me counselling seemed appropriate as the last option, a choice you
make when all else fails and also that with time things will eventually get better and you don t
need therapy to work through it. Both of these beliefs seem wrong to be now that I have gained
more objective knowledge of counselling. Firstly, to keep counselling as a last resort the person is
embracing a very likely possibility that things would get worse then on rather than better and if
proper therapy is undertaken at the very beginning of a problem it will improve things for the
individual for definite and may also be more effective and efficient in comparison to if you let it
blow to proportion that may severely

I have explored various online sources for public access data related to aviation. I have downloaded
data on Origin and Destination Survey (DB1B) from The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS)
under United States Department of Transportation ([Link]) for the first quarter of
2015. The Airline Origin and Destination Survey (DB1B) is a 10% sample of airline tickets from
reporting carriers collected by the Office of Airline Information of the Bureau of Transportation

database is used to determine air traffic patterns, air carrier market shares and passenger flows. The

variables.
Nominal scale: Two of the variables that measured in nominal scale are OriginStateName and

departed and the later one is a variable contains yes/no answer that coded as 1/0. These two variables
A Letter Of An Offer
An offer is when a person or company proposes a deal. The offeror is the one who creates the
offer, while the offeree is the one whom the offer is directed towards. Under the common law,
there are statements that do not amount to an offer, problems with the definiteness with an offer,
the termination of offers, and the acceptance of offers. Also keep in mind that under the Uniform
Commercial Code there are different rules regulating offers and acceptance with the sale of
goods. First, let s define statements that do not amount to an offer. These are invitations to
bargain, price quotes, letters of intent, advertisements, and auctions. Invitations to bargain is
when you set the lowest price you are willing to sell a product at and the other party can negotiate
above that. This is not an offer. Price quotas, lists of prices, are also generally not considering an
offer, but a request to receive an offer. A letter of intent summarizes the negotiating process
between two parties. Be careful with a letter of intent considering that if the language claims the
parties intended to be bound then the letter will bind the two parties. Advertisements and auctions
are similar to price quotas in the fact that it is merely a request for offers, but is not an offer itself.
An offer must also be definite. Offers that are vague or have a problem with definiteness will not be
enforced in court due to a lack of information. Language that should be avoided are statements like a
fair wage,
Commedia Dell Arte Research Paper
The Influence of Commedia Dell arte on Le Barbier de Séville ou la Précaution inutile and Il
Barbieri di Siviglia
Introduction
Commedia dell arte played a crucial role in the history of Western theater, its underlying satire and
irony ultimately shaping the development of comedy on the dramatic as well as the lyric stages,
(Fisher 17). This paper will discuss, first, commedia dell arte s satirical performances, their
circumstances, and their original audience, and tell how this theatrical form became well known
throughout Western Europe. It then will discuss two enduring popular stage works: Sterbini and
Rossini s opera buffa Il Barbieri di Siviglia, and Beaumarchais s satirical comedy Le Barbier de
Séville ou la Précaution inutile of ... Show more content on [Link] ...
Furthermore,.Moliere had embedded the scenario in a much more complex story, one with many
players and plot talk worthy of romantic comedy, Beaumarchais, however, adopted the entire
commedia dell arte trope, with the only modification, mentioned above, of the young nobleman
being incognito, creating a straight comedic satire. He wrote, As the play opened, an old man, in
love with his ward, arranges to marry her the next day. A young suitor, who is cleverer than he, foils
his plan and marries the girl, today, under the guardian s nose and in his own house (Bermel
Medical Technology, Doctors, And Patients
Audience:People in the medical technology industry, doctors, and patients in need of prosthetics,
augmentations, or implants.
Rhetorical Situation: A doctor prescribes an MRI non compatible implant like a pacemaker because
it is cheaper for the patient in the moment. However, in the long run this will cost more to keep
maintained, and is obviously harder to monitor. It also creates an issue for any other medical
problems that might arise which need MRI scanning. A doctor could, in this case, advocate for a
more advanced implant rather than the cheapest option for the patient or the first option. Doctors
should be advocating for higher technology, and not immediate cost effectiveness. Sometimes the
harder decisions are the better ones in the long run. For instance, a woman who had only half of her
foot amputated due to injury opted to amputate more of her leg due to years of discomfort with her
old prosthetic. Her life experience improved drastically with the advanced prosthetic.

Medical technology consists of a wide scope of machines and devices helping people live, and live
better each day. Prosthetics, implants and augmentation devices are just a couple types of these
machines that are advancing, and moving towards a nearly humanistic style, in function and
appearance. A number of outcomes were identified in relation to lower limb prosthetic prescription.
Many of these were related to physical outcomes, such as balance and safety and not
Anchorage Opera Analysis
On April 10th, 11th, and 12th, Anchorage Opera performed a modernized rendition of Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart s last opera; The Magic Flute (1791). The cast consisted of quite a few local
performers as well as guest appearances from acclaimed artists such as Branch Fields and Michael
Scarcelle. On the 11th, I attended the evening production accompanied by my musichating (her
words, not mine) mother. She was such a good sport until we found ourselves in the balcony
seating of the Discovery Theatre, in the front row, which was nauseating when you looked down
(she s not a fan of heights.) Albeit the discomfort, our seats provided us with a bird s eye view of
both the orchestra and stage.
Prior to attending the opera I had watched online performances of The Magic Flute to familiarize
myself with the story line and the musical style of each character and act. Anchorage Opera s
version was very different than the traditional piece. Mozart s original opera took place in Egypt
and had overwhelming undertones of Masonic symbolism and racism. Bill Fabris, Stage Director,
stated that he had removed that imagery and changed the setting to that of the Greek Gods where
mortals and deities interact. These changes seemed to make the performance more appealing to
today s viewers, especially those new to opera, as we were able ... Show more content on

The couple behind me spoke of how excited they were to see the production, which made me
hopeful that my mom and I were in for quite a treat. As the lights dimmed and the orchestra began,
I realized that it was far too dark to take notes. The only light in the theatre was the illumination of
the orchestra pit and a single spotlight on the stage. All the better to focus on the show, I thought to
myself. I m now wishing it d be able to take at least some notes as Mozart s piece was chaotically
charming, yet somewhat complicated to

HOW TO GIVE A GOOD HAIRCUT! One of the hardest things about giving a good haircut is
being able to understand what the client ultimately wants to achieve. If you don t have a clear
understanding, you could be digging yourself a hole by giving a bad haircut, but the wrong haircut.
The first and most important step to giving a good haircut and maintain this customer for life is a
thorough evaluation and consultation. This consists of a proper greeting when you seat your
customer at your station. You wantto be sure to listen to your client and ask questions. It s better to

You can either use your regular cutting shears, using the point to point cut to take out bulk, not
length, or you can use a razor. It is pretty much personal choice and up to the client. I personally
like the razor. In today s society there isn t much want or need for a perfectly clean hair cut, and the
razor achieves kind of a messy, not so clean look. When you are all finished, you want to hand
your client the mirror and turn them to all angles so they can see the finished cut and approve.
Never try to hide a mistake, everyone knows that when you get a haircut the first thing you do is
go home and look closely, so don t even attempt it, it just causes embarrassment later. After
approval, apply gel to the hair and explain the process and why you are applying. This is a sure
way to get them to purchase the product also, and make your commission oh so sweet! Upon
wanting you to style their hair, blow dry and style to their liking. Be sure to demonstrate and tell
them what you are doing so they can go home and achieve the same look. There is nothing more
frustrating when leaving a salon looking great and then never being able to get the look again
because you don t know how, sure it makes the stylist look like a magician, but in reality, we want
the client to love their hair and be able to work with it at home. After they have praised your work
and told you how much they love their hair, this is when you sell them the
