Learning outcomes:
Develop critical reading/writing and self-learning skills
Improve student ability to explore, define, analyze an IS topic, report and present it.
Assessment criteria:
The majority of marks are awarded for the critical analysis, quality of content and the essay structure;
more detailed criteria are provided in the attached marking sheet for this assignment.
Description of assignment:
This assignment requires you to write an essay (4000 words <its length > 5000 words). The essay title
will be chosen by you from the following topics:
Topic Brief explanation
User privacy and e-commerce Investigate the challenges of user privacy in e-
commerce. How e-commerce define privacy and the
challenges users’ may face.
E-learning systems and persuasive How does E-learning systems take into consideration
design principles persuasive design. How its implemented.
AI in medicine How its used, challenges and opportunities.
Information systems critical factors Discuss what and how different IS factors may affect
for success delivery successful delivery of different information systems
Blockchain and its usage in How its used, the need for such technology and its
business current and future usages.
Students can provide their own It needs the course instructor approval

Each student is required to be in a group of 4 otherwise, the student will be assigned to a group by the
course lecturer. Each member is required to submit his/her assigned tasks in a separated sheet by her/his
group manager.
Week 11: Course clinic where each group has to present what they have done (initial grading will be
given). Please also follow IEEE template to submit your assignment in its final form.
Description of marking criteria:
Marks will be awarded (or deducted) for the quality of written English, critical analysis you show,
implementing AI, the adequacy of the bibliography and citations. However, the following criteria can
help you to know how to write your essay.
Criteria Expected to be seen Marks
A clear, brief and effective Introduction is effective, no more than 250 words, 10%
introduction no references; it covers the essay topics, written
clearly.
Background of the topic Easy to read, consistent, lead to assignment title 10%
Critical analysis Sufficient information, critically analysed, follow a 25%
clear logic, information are from a wide range of
resources, ability to connect between the
information you have found and the task you have
been asked to do
Structure A clear introduction, body and conclusion. Written 15%
formally, references used as evidence to back up
the points you make. Information should be cited
in a proper way.
AI part Implement AI part into your assignment as 20%
explained below
Presentation This includes correct grammar, spelling and 10%
sentence structure
Note: assignment should be double spaced and
use a 12 point font
References Up to date, different resources ( usually 10 to 15 10 %
references)

Results explanation:
Mark Criteria Explanation
90-100 Excellent Well-judged selection of range of sources; all sources
appropriately cited; referencing consistently accurate. Very
interesting arguments, very good of use of resources, very
clear logic followed. Informative content, good use of English.
80-90 Very good Significant number and range of sources; all sources
appropriately cited; Very good level of critical writing, good use of
literature and informative content
70 – 80 Good Significant number of sources; all sources cited; only minor
inaccuracies in referencing. Good critical writing and content
60-70 Pass Satisfactory number and range of sources; most sources cited;
some minor inaccuracies in referencing, and content.
Descriptive writing.
Below 60 Fail Unsatisfactory number and range of sources; many sources not
cited; major inaccuracies in referencing or poor writing.
Note:
• Week 11 : you are expected to show your progress in an informal presentation in the class (
what you have, how it was done, your plans, any challenges you may face..etc..).
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited (Please use I-authenticate tool to check plagiarism as its
available in CCSIT library). If any plagiarism case, then it will be reported as a cheating case.
• Feel free to see me in the announced office hours to discuss your marks and the given
comments if you have.
Additional Tasks Using AI/Machine Learning:
We have discussed the usage of opensource models available on huggingface. You are
expected to perform two tasks using the facebook models. (Hint: make use of code given in
L3_Translation_and_Summarization and L7_text_to_speech lab)
1. Task1: Generate an executive summary of your essay using Language models in huggingface.
(2) (Hint: There is a limitation of the token for a model, you might need to give text in multiple
iterations)
2. Task 2: Translate the summary in to Arabic language and add it to the report. (1)
3. Task 3: For your final presentation of the project use the AI speaking function to generate the
audio file for presentation. (2)
(Note: You have to provide the notebook with code along with translation of report to secure
the grade)
