Weekly Activity Report
Names: Olidon And Diane
Position: Network Administration Supervisor
Week: June 16 – June 20, 2025
Department: IT Department
1. General Summary
This week, our main goal was to make sure the company’s computer network
was working well, fast, and secure.
We supervised the network team, checked the health of the network every day,
helped solve technical problems, and continued working on a network
improvement project.
We also trained a new intern.
2. Work Done This Week
Every morning, we checked if all network devices (routers, switches,
firewalls) were working normally.
We worked with the security team to check logs and alerts to make sure
there were no hacker attempts or dangerous activities.
We checked antivirus reports and made sure all systems were up to date.
We held a weekly meeting with the team to discuss progress and
challenges.
We helped an intern understand basic networking, such as how IP
addresses and VLANs work. He also practiced setting up a switch and
checking cables.
3. Problems and Solutions
On Wednesday, a firewall rule caused a short network outage. We found
and fixed the issue in 45 minutes.
A switch failed due to hardware problems. We used a backup switch
while waiting for a new one.
4. Next Steps and Suggestions
We suggest installing Graylog to better manage and analyze logs.
We plan to back up all network configurations next week.
A security test (penetration test) should be scheduled soon.
5. Conclusion
This week was productive. The team worked well together, and we managed to
solve problems quickly. We made good progress on the performance and the
security of the network. I will continue guiding the team and improving the
network in the coming weeks.
