John Froehlich Research Paper
r centuries farming had been down with manual labor and animals. Beginning in the early 1800 s
steam powered engines and other mechanical devices began to be used in agriculture and farming.
John Froehlich helped make permanent changes to farming with his invention of the traction engine .
John Froelich was born in 1849 in Iowa and attended school in Galena, Illinois, and in Iowa. While
in college he became interested in engineering, and farming and agriculture. After he graduated from
college, he built the first petrol powered traction engine that would move both forward and
backward. The tractor , as these machines would come to be known, had a 16 horsepower engine
and could pull an implement forward as well as go backward. The name tractor was derived ... Show

Unlike animals and people, tractors did not get tired, although they did breakdown frequently and
their moving parts were dangerous. Because tractors were much stronger than horses, machines
which had been powered by horses could now be more easily powered with tractors.
Many improvements have been made on the tractor since the model John Froelich invented in
1892. The first tractor had three wheels and was clumsy to move. Eventually tractors would be
made with four wheels which made them easier to drive and more stable when moving. The
invention of the tractor would also lead to the invention of the Caterpillar or crawler which
worked much like the tractor except it used tracks instead of wheels. These machines proved
especially useful in places like the California which had heavier soil. The invention of the tractor
also lead to the invention of powered hydraulics to lift heavy machinery and the power take off
allowing the tractor to be used more efficiently as a power source to other machines while the tractor
was stationary or moving. These improvements and inventions have led to many types of machines
which have made farming more efficient and
Theme Of God In The Magician s Nephew
Though large parts of The Magician s Nephew give magic and evil the attention, the book is also
about life, especially it s source. In Narnia, the source of life is Aslan. C.S. Lewis portrays Aslan as
God. Aslan represents God in three ways, he is the creator of Narnia, he is the provider, and he is all
powerful.
Aslan is the creator of Narnia like God created this universe. He sings Narnia into existence. There
was nothing, the world was empty and void, and then through Aslan s song there was something.
Digory describes the voice of Aslan s song, as seeming to come from all directions at once and it
is beyond comparison, in fact, it was so beautiful he could hardly bear it. (Lewis 59). Aslan
creating Narnia through song reminds of what the Psalmist says, For he [God] spoke, and it [the
universe] came to be; (Psalm 33:9 ESV). Aslan created Narnia; God created the universe. Just like

He provides for the needs of whoever trusts in him and does his work. An example of this is when
Aslan asks Digory to go get an apple. First, he wants to see Digory s commitment to following
him, then he provides Digory with Fledge, which is Strawberry s new name since Aslan made her
winged. Later, when they are camping, he provides again. Digory and Polly realize they have no
food besides the remains of a bag of toffee, one of which was planted and the next day, thanks to
Aslan s power, there was a toffee tree whose fruit was delicious. (Lewis 92) Jesus command in
Mathew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness is followed by a promise:
and all these things will be added to you, referring to the things the Gentiles seek for (food, drink,
clothing). In other words, when God sees that you are seeking the kingdom of God and his
righteousness, He will supply all of your needs, just like

November 1, 2016 Risk Factors for Falls Among Geriatric Population Living in Nursing Facilities
Falls are a major problem in elderly population in the United States living in nursing facilities.
Statistics from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) show that approximately
800,000 seniors fall each year and 1 in 3 of those will fall twice or one more time in a year. (Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2012). Most falls are caused by a combination of risk factors.
The more risk factors a person has, the greater their chances of falling. Healthcare providers can help
cut down a person s risk by reducing the fall risk factors
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012). Serious injuries have resulted from the falls
such as hip fractures, concussions, decreased cognitive and functional abilities, and increased risk
of death. The cost of treatment resulting from falls is rising each year. According to CDC, adjusted
for inflation, the direct medical costs for fall injuries are $31 billion annually. (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention,2016). Those who do not suffer severe injuries live with fear of falling so
they restrict their activities, which lead to increased comorbidities.

Death Cab For Cutie Analysis
The alternative rock musical artist that grew up in Seattle has become the forefront of the Indie
Rock scene. This coffeehouse band has evolved and altered their sound after nearly two decades.
Another name they go by is Death Cab for Cutie. DCFC have found a way within their eight studio
album discography to never lose their personal or emotional voice. With six Extended Plays, over
twenty singles and several other appearances, DCFC is an unstoppable force that preach the ups
and downs of life. Listeners feel more in tune with their soul when they venture inside the minds of
Ben Gibbard (Lead Vocalist and Guitarist), Nick Harmer (Bass), and Jason McGerr (Drummer).

DCFC s most ambitious score is Number Two s, The New Year. This track begins on a high note
and never lets up. The sounds coming from each instrument are as bombastic as fireworks going
off. The epic ensembles that follow Gibbard s calling, so this is the New Year, seem to have come
from the skies of Mount Olympus. The drumming is loud, the bass is like a gong, and the guitar
contrasts as a wind current flowing in reverse. This song departs from the band s normal flat
surface vibes. The lyrics are cheap, but highlight a fun New Year s Eve moment while describing
the anxiety of New Year s resolutions. The New Year, is like a rock opera. Gibbard, Walla, Harmer,
and McGerr must have been listening to Queen before recording this song. This is possibly one of
the greatest openings to any indie rock album. Give DFCF a round of
What Is The Theme Of The Hobbit Book Vs Movie
Most people have heard of the movie The Hobbit. If not they might have heard of the book The
Hobbit: An unexpected Journey. The well known fantasy story directed by Peter Jackson, and
written by J.R.R. Tolkien has not only a story about fantasy, but a story about bravery, making a
difference, and not judging a book by its cover. In this case Bilbo Baggins. As I watched the movie
and followed the characters throughout their thrilling adventure, the movie kept me on my toes. Not
only was it well made, but the actors also acted the part very well and I don t think that anyone
could have done a better job with portraying the characters.

This movie is very interesting and unique in many ways. This movie follows around a small hobbit
named Bilbo Baggins who has lived a calm and quiet life, which was turned upside down when a
great wizard Gandalf, and a group of messy dwarves come into his life inviting him to go on a trip
that not only out of his comfort zone, but something that seems out of grasp to a mere hobbit. When
Bilbo accepts the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although personally I haven t read any of the books, I can clearly see the personality of each
individual character and the way they think even without reading the books. Martin Freemon did
a great job showing the shy hobbits journey into becoming an amazing hero. He did a really good
job showing the character development in the movie. Ian Mckellen also did an extraordinary job
with the role of Gandalf. Gandalf is the type of person that is wiser than most and has great
problem solving skills, yet for some reason is still a little ruff around the edges and Ian shows this
in the movie and I was really impressed with his acting in the movie. The rest of the actors did a
very good job as well although I must say my favorite character is one that wasn t acted out by
anyone at all, which is Gollum, I really love his
A Comparison Of The Monster By John Lennon Lacy
What would you do if you were left with pain and suffering after learning your son was just
lynched and the police covered the lynching up with a he committed suicide story? Can t imagine
yourself going through that can you? Well Lennon Lacy s mother is going through that right
now. Her son was lynched, but the local police says that he committed suicide. The local police
rushed to finish the job and just said it was a suicide but was it really? Claudia Lacy (mother)
says that ¨the shoes that were on his feet were not the shoes he left the house in. Supposedly the
shoes that were found on his feet were Nike air forces and a size or two too small. He left the
house with Air jordans 12. ¨How is he gonna walk a quarter mile in a shoe that is too small for him
and not his?¨. The person that is responsible for this wrongful homicideis still on the loose today.
The homicide of Lennon Lacy compares and contrasts with the book Monster by Walter Dean
Myers. It compares in many ways, let s talk about a few. One way it compares is through one of
the quotes from the book, Felony murder is as serious as it gets. In the book Steve Harmon is a
suspect of felony murder. If they would have caught Lennon Lacy s murderer that person may have
been sentenced with felony murder. Another comparison is black people getting treated unfairly.
Steve is getting treated unfairly because he was black and a teenager and some of those people
may have still been convinced that Steve was apart of the murder over stereotypes. Lennon Lacy
was black and a teenager so they had conspiracies about the situation stating that he brung it upon
himself that his life had to be ended. My quote for this comparison is Monster tattooed over my
forehead my reasoning for choosing this one is because ,not all the time, but most of the time white
people think all black people are monsters because of stereotypes. My last comparison is,
corresponding with the quote I can t stay in prison for 20 years it compares with the Lennon Lacy
story because not only would the murderer have a possibility to go to prison for felony murder he
has the possibility for hate crime charges. In my perspective I think that is the reasons that the
murderer of Lennon Lacy
The Influence Of The Gothic Architecture Of Western Europe
The Gothic Architecture of western Europe served as a creative transition period following the great
era of Greek and Roman influences. Beginning in 1140 and lasting until 1350, Gothic architecture, in
an attempt to be closer to the divine, made structural changes that differed greatly from those utilized
by the generation before them. These changes not only brought their followers closer to god but they
also increased the structural support of the overall building creating a more sound foundation. As
seen in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Amiens, which stood at a staggering 144, the use of these
new methods would allow the french architects to elevate their construction like never before. Unlike
the views of Modern society that associate the terms Gothic with a sense tenebrosity and turmoil,
classical gothic architecturewas more symbolic of the Beauty and the importance of the imminent
presence of god that created a sense of openness that was developed with structural advancements
aimed at creating a more functional cathedral which would greatly strength the faith of an entire
culture. Many of the influences of Gothic architecture came from the man leading the frontier, Abbot
Sugar. His innovative ideas single handily lead to the development of a new unprecedented style of
cathedral that changed the perception of something normally perceived in a negative light and was
able to make it into something magnificent and graceful. Residing in France for the entirety of his

Flavored water From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Flavored water is a beverage consisting of
water with added natural or artificial flavors, herbs, and sweeteners, and is usually lower in
calories than non diet soft drinks. In many cases, flavored waters add vitamins and minerals to
their beverages through the incorporation of fruits in order to better market their products. Pepsi
