Using Carbon Markets to Protect
Forests at Risk: A Case Study of
Jurisdictional REDD+ in Guyana
The Architecture for REDD+ Transactions’ (ART) standard, The
REDD+ Environmental Excellence Standard (TREES), offers a carbon
crediting pathway to support the country of Guyana to protect its
forests while generating revenue for the priorities of Indigenous
villages and for low-carbon development, creating a new financial
model for countries with tropical forests around the world.
