Project
Step 1: Select an App
• Choose a real-world app (assigned by your instructor) that could benefit from better
UX.
• Avoid famous apps like Airbnb. Ideal examples are local or government service apps that
aren’t already over-analyzed.
Step 2: Define the User
• Create 1–2 user personas based on research (e.g., interviews, observations).
• Identify:
o Who your users are.
o What their goals and frustrations are.
o What tasks they’re trying to accomplish with the app.
Step 3: Identify the Problem
• Define the main UX problems or usability pain points in the current app.
• Clarify:
o Why is this redesign needed?
o What value will it bring to users?
Step 4: Research
• Use UX research methods such as:
o User interviews
o Surveys
o Usability testing
• Document all insights, screenshots, and findings.
• Validate or challenge your initial assumptions.
Step 5: Define the Goals
• What are the main objectives of the project?
• What should your redesign achieve in terms of better usability, engagement, or
accessibility?
Step 6: Design the Solution
• Use Figma (or similar tool) to:
o Create low-fidelity wireframes of your proposed solution.
o Then, produce 3 high-fidelity mock-ups that visually show your final UI.
Step 7: Test and Iterate
• Run user testing on your designs.
• Collect feedback and iterate based on what works and what doesn’t.
Step 8: Write the Case Study
Include:
1. Title & Overview
o Catchy title
o Company/product summary
o Project goals
2. Problem Statement
o Purpose and relevance of the redesign
o Specific UX issues tackled
3. Users & Audience
o Personas
o User needs (Jobs-to-be-done)
4. Process & What You Did
o Research methods & reasons
o Design frameworks used
o Challenges, iterations, testing
o Final wireframes and mock-ups
Final Deliverables
5. Figma Designs

6. Written Case Study
