2. Introduction
The Internet is one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century.
It connects people, devices, and information globally.
This presentation explores how the Internet began and how it
developed over time.
3. Early Beginnings (1960s–1970s)
1969: The U.S. Department of Defense created ARPANET, the first
version of the Internet, to connect universities and research centers.
First message was sent between UCLA and Stanford.
Only 4 computers were connected initially.
4. Expansion and Protocols (1980s)
1983: Introduction of TCP/IP protocols, which became the standard
for internet communication.
More universities and institutions joined the network.
DNS (Domain Name System) was developed in 1984
(like .com, .edu, etc.).

9. Challenges of the Internet
Cybersecurity threats (hacking, scams).
Privacy issues and misinformation.
Digital divide (not everyone has access).
10. Conclusion
The Internet has transformed the world and continues to evolve.
From military research to global connection, it plays a vital role in
modern life.
3
The future holds even more advanced technologies and
opportunities.
