Rear Glass Power Sunshade, Removing and Installing​

– Remove adhesive strip (hatched area).

Separate tie wrap

Rear Shelf, Removing and Installing


1 - Rear shelf

❑ Removing:

– Loosen lower mounting of threepoint seat belt left and right → Fig..

Remove rear seatback → Chapter or individual seat rear



→ Chapter.

– Clip cover for belt guide → Item and → Item off.

Pry out covers (left and right) at tab → Item and → Item at belt height adjustment → Item and → Item

→ Chapter.

– Remove expanding clips- → Item-.


– Unclip power sunshade cover → Item if vehicle is so equipped.

– Slide foam sleeve → Item back and separate connectors → Item for sunshade and 3rd brake light.

❑ Vehicles with power sunshade → Item:

– Remove mounting nuts in luggage compartment

– Raise shade box so screws are released from hatshelf.

– Pull rear shelf forward slightly toward center of vehicle out of guides -arrows- and remove.

Power Sunshade Motor, Removing and


Installing​

Removin

– Remove hatshelf → Chapter.

Remove bolt -1- of drive disc -2- and



pull out drive disc.
Separate tie wrap

-3-.

– Remove connector -4-.

– Remove screws -2-.

– Remove rear window shade motor -1-.

– Check form of drive gear in drive disc.

An intact star shaped drive gear


⧫ -arrow- permits installation of motor
without further measures.

If hexagon-drive gear or star shaped


drive gear drive disc are worn, replace

drive disc for new star shaped gear
from small parts set → Chapter.

Installing
Fasten rear window shade motor -1-

with bolts loosely to bracket.

Install drive disc -2- in drive gear of



motor, if necessary.

Replace bolt -1- for drive disc and



tighten with bolt.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (71 [Link].)

Apply a voltage of 12 V to rear shade


– motor and let shade come down
completely.
Tighten bolts -2- with shade rolled up

securely.

Tightening torque: 8 Nm (71 [Link].)

Apply a voltage of 12 V to rear shade


– motor and let shade come down
completely.

– Roll shade up again several times.

If lever arm is not completely


– extended, loosen screws -2- and slide
motor into slots.

Left lever arm extends earlier: Slide



motor to right.

Right lever arm extends earlier: Slide



motor to left.

Check, if necessary, that lever arms



move evenly.

Connect connector -4- to motor


– control module for rear shade and
secure using tie wrap -3-.

– Install rear shelf → Chapter.

Power Sunshade Motor Drive,


Replacing​

Power sunshade for rear glass removed



→ Chapter.
Rear window shade motor removed

→ Chapter.

Carefully drive rivets -arrows- on drive



gear to bottom using punch.

Install new drive disc with bolt, bearing



washer and lock disc.

Component location: Flat position of gear


points toward right side of vehicle.

Power Sunshade Control Module, Removing


and Installing​

Unclip cover → Item for sunshade



→ Item.

– Remove connector at control module.

Remove nuts -arrows- and remove



control module.
