Lesson 1A: Nice to meet you!

Hello! My name is María Belén. I am 19 years old and I am from Ecuador. I am a student at
university. My best friend is Rubi. She is friendly and very smart. We are in the same class.
She loves music and fashion. I like spending time with her. She is always there for me. We
are best friends forever.

Lesson 1B: My Home

Writing: Write a short description of the pieces of furniture you have


at home and where they are. (50–70 words)

My home is small but cozy. In my living room, there is a big sofa in front of the TV. There is a
lamp next to the armchair. In the kitchen, there is a fridge next to the stove. There is a table
in the middle of the kitchen. In my bedroom, there is a bed, a desk, and a wardrobe near the
window.

Lesson 1C: My Daily Routine

Writing: Write a paragraph about your daily routine. (50–70 words)

I usually wake up at 6:30 a.m. I brush my teeth and take a shower. Then, I eat breakfast and
go to university. I study until 1 p.m. After lunch, I rest or do my homework. In the evening, I
watch TV or listen to music. I always go to bed at 10 p.m. I try to follow this routine every
day.

Lesson 1D: My Week

My week is very busy. I usually wake up early and go to university from Monday to Friday. I
always study in the afternoon. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I have English class. I
sometimes go to the gym on Tuesdays. On weekends, I usually relax. I watch movies or go
out with my family. I rarely stay up late. Sundays are for resting and reading.
Lesson 1E: Autonomous Work

Writing: Write a paragraph describing your room. (70–100 words)

My room is simple and comfortable. There is a bed next to the window. I have a small desk
with a lamp on it, where I do my homework. There is a wardrobe next to the door. I also
have a chair and a bookshelf with some books. My computer is on the desk. On the wall, I
have a photo of my family. I like my room because it is quiet and perfect for studying.
