I. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

III. PROCEDURE:
a. Motivation – Watch Me (Viewing the Trailer of the movie “Frozen”)
Picture Talk:
Present pictures of Static and Dynamic Character
Analysis: Teacher will ask the students the following questions:
1. What can you say about the pictures?
2. What is the difference between the two-character?
3. Which of the two character undergoes changes through and until the end of the
story?
4. Who is the character that remains the same through the story?
5. How are the two characters differ with each other?
Abstraction: Static Character - A static character is a literary character who undergoes
little or no change throughout a story. Their personality, motivations, and beliefs remain consistent
from beginning to end, even when facing conflict or experiencing significant events.

Examples of Static Characters
Dynamic Character - A dynamic character is a literary character who undergoes a significant
internal change throughout the course of a story. This change can be a shift in personality,
beliefs, or outlook on life, and is usually a response to the events and conflicts they
experience. Essentially, a dynamic character is one that is not the same at the end of the
story as they were at the beginning.

Application: Present samples of different popular characters. Then let the students identify whether
they are static or dynamic character.

Directions – Choose static or Dynamic character from the text briefly describe the
character and provide textual evidence that supports whether they are static or
dynamic.
IV. Assignment
Re-read a story or review a movie then choose a character to analyze whether he/she is
a static or dynamic character.
