(c) What is the main reason why the forest is quiet during the day and
noisy at night? [1]
2. Give the meaning of each of the following words as used in the passage:

3. Rewrite the sentence below by inserting the missing punctuation:
The scientist studied animals insects birds and reptiles in the Amazon forest he
was fascinated by the diversity of life. [2]
4. Rewrite the following sentence by adding a relative clause with more
information from the passage:

9. Creative Writing: (25 marks)
a- Describe a scene in the Amazon rainforest at sunrise.
You should focus on:
• The colours, sounds, and smells of the forest.
• The movement of animals as they wake up and begin their day.
• How the light changes and brings the forest to life.
OR
Write a short story that begins with you exploring the Amazon rainforest
and discovering a mysterious animal.
Consider:
• What do you see? What does the animal look like?
• The setting – where exactly in the Amazon are you?
• How do you interact with the animal? What happens next?
