Types of plants

 There are plants all around us.


 Plants are of different shapes and sizes.

 Trees are big and strong.


 They have a thick and hard main stem.
 It is called trunk.
 The trunk bears branches.

2. Herbs

 Herbs are short plants.


 They have thin and weak stems.

 basil

3. Shrubs
 Shrubs are plants with many stems.
 They have strong and woody stems.

4. Climbers
 These plants have weak stems.
 They cannot stand alone.
 They need a support of a stick, a wall or a big tree to
climb up.

5. Creepers

 These plants have weak stems.


 They grow along the ground.

Uses of plant parts.

1) Stem - bears leaves, fruits and flowers

-take water to the other parts of the plant.

2) Roots- takes in water from the soil.

3) Leaf- makes food for the plant.

4) Bud- opens into a flower.

6) Fruit - bears seeds.
