SECTION A READING
Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow
(8 marks)
A fox and his wife wanted to eat chicken. So, the fox silently went into a
farmer’s field nearby. He caught a chicken moving lonely and put it in his bag.
A good monkey on a tree saw this incident. The monkey followed the fox. On
his way home, the fox stopped at a lake to drink water, keeping the bag aside.
The monkey silently released the chicken from the bag and held a pumpkin in
its place.
The fox reached home. His wife was heating water in an earthen pot to boil the
chicken. She eagerly took the bag and dumped it in the pot. Due to the
pumpkin’s weight, the earthen pot was broken. The boiled water spilled over
them and they suffered burns on their bodies. After that, they never dared steal
any chicken
