How to access Power Up Program learning

management system (My Hub)

Please follow these step-by-step instructions to avoid conflicts logging in to My hub.

Step 1: Ensure you are on a laptop or desktop computer.

Step 2: Open a private or incognito browser window. You can use the keyboard
shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+N from your preferred browser.

Step 3: Copy this URL and paste to your private browser window:
https://powerup.microsoft.com

Step 4: In the top right of My Hub, select Sign In and if asked, select Continue with
Power Up then enter the credentials provided. You should have received an
email from us with the subject line: Power Up Program Update | Sign-in
Information. Please open that email.
Step 5: You will be forced to setup your MFA authentication during the first login.
Please follow the instructions below to setup your MFA.

Set up your Microsoft 365 sign-in for multi-factor

authentication
Once your admin enables your organization, and your account, for multi-factor
authentication (MFA) you must set up your user account to use it. This should only take a
minute or so.

Tip: Want to know more about multi-factor authentication? See What is: Multifactor
authentication.

By setting up MFA, you add an extra layer of security to your Microsoft 365 account sign-in.
For example, you first enter your password and, when prompted, you also type a
dynamically generated verification code provided by an authenticator app or sent to your
phone.

1. Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your work or school account with your password like
you normally do. After you choose Sign in, you'll be prompted for more information.
2. Choose Next.

Microsoft Authenticator is a free app that helps you sign in to all your accounts
without using a password - just use a fingerprint, face recognition, or a PIN.

3. The default authentication method is to use the free Microsoft Authenticator app. If
you have it installed on your mobile device, select Next and follow the prompts to
add this account. If you don't have it installed there is a link provided to download it.
To download the Microsoft Authenticator app click on Download now or it can be
downloaded from Microsoft Mobile Phone Authenticator App | Microsoft Security
After installing the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, choose
“Next”.

4. Open authenticator app to configure your account. Click on + and choose Work or
school account then scan the QA code.
If you would rather use SMS messages sent to your phone instead, select I want to
set up a different method. Microsoft 365 will ask for your mobile number, then send
you an SMS message containing a 6-digit code to verify your device.

Tip: For a faster, and more secure, experience we recommend using an authenticator app
rather than SMS verification.

5. After scanning the QR code on authenticator app, click on Next. Authenticator app
will send the notification to your mobile device, open and enter the code.
6. Click on Done.

7. Once you complete the instructions to specify your additional verification method,
the next time you sign in to Microsoft 365, you'll be prompted to provide the
additional verification information or action, such as typing the verification code
provided by your authenticator app or sent to you by text message.
Note: Generally, you'll only need the additional verification method the first time you sign
into a new app or device, or after you've changed your password. You probably won't be
asked for the additional verification code daily, unless your organization requires it.

Sign in to your work or school account using your two-

step verification method
The purpose of this article is to walk through a typical sign-in experience

What will your sign-in experience be?

Your sign-in experience differs depending on what you choose to use as your second factor:
a phone call, an authentication app, or texts.

Sign in with a phone call

The following information describes the two-step verification experience with a call to your
mobile or office phone.

1. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and
password.

2. Microsoft calls you.

3. Answer the phone and press the # key.

Sign in with a text message

The following information describes the two-step verification experience with a text
message to your mobile phone:

1. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and
password.

2. Microsoft sends you a text message that contains a verification code.

3. Enter the code in the box provided on the sign-in page.

Sign in with the Microsoft Authenticator app

The following information describes the experience of using the Microsoft Authenticator app
for two-step verifications. There are two different ways to use the app. You can receive push
notifications on your device, or you can open the app to get a verification code.

To sign in with a notification from the Microsoft Authenticator app

1. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and
password.
2. Microsoft sends a notification to the Microsoft Authenticator app on your device.

3. Open the notification on your phone and select the Verify key. If your company
requires a PIN, enter it here. You should now be signed in.

To sign in using a verification code with the Microsoft Authenticator app

If you use the Microsoft Authenticator app to get verification codes, then when you open
the app, you see a number under your account name. This number changes every 30
seconds so that you don't use the same number twice. When you're asked for a verification
code, open the app and use whatever number is currently displayed.

1. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and
password.
2. Microsoft prompts you for a verification code.

3. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and enter the code in the box
where you are signing in.

Signing in with a phone number method - setup instructions: If you are not comfortable
using the Microsoft Authenticator app, you may opt to receive a code via text message to
your phone number.

Please note that this setup is temporary, and you will be able to authenticate only three
times. Subsequently, you will be required to use the Microsoft Authenticator method.

Signing in with an alternate method

Sometimes you don't have the phone or device that you set up as your preferred verification
method. This situation is why we recommend that you set up backup methods for your
account. The following section shows you how to sign in with an alternate method when
your primary method may not be available.
1. Sign in to an application or service such as Microsoft 365 using your username and
password.

2. Select Use a different verification option. You see different verification options based
on how many you have set up.

3. Choose an alternate method and sign in.

Note: If you no longer have access to the device where the MFA setup was originally
configured, please contact [email protected] to reset your MFA setup.
