Dear Students,
In the universe, space refers to the three-dimensional area where objects and events
have relative positions and directions, essentially the void between celestial bodies. It's
a vast, mostly empty region, though not a perfect vacuum, containing sparse matter,
radiation, and magnetic fields. Space is the boundless, three-dimensional realm where
everything in the universe exists. It's the area between stars, planets, galaxies, and
other large-scale structures. While not perfectly empty, space is incredibly sparse, with
extremely low density of matter. Despite being a vacuum, space is not entirely empty. It
contains faint particles, dust, electromagnetic radiation, cosmic rays, and magnetic
fields. The universe is expanding, and so is space, meaning the area between objects is
constantly increasing.
Do you know that its nearly 65 years since the first person flew in space? He was Major
uri Gagarin from Russia who flew in space in 1961. Write his biography in about 10-15
Y
sentences, collecting more information about him. Draw / Paste his picture for better
reference for yourEnglish Activity.
Imagine that you have a Space tourism company. Create a colourful poster with an
interesting slogan to promote space travel, places to visit, duration of visit for the space
touristsin Hindi.
iscover the names of the planetsin Gujaratiandthen create a short poem of about 10
D
lines using those names along with other such objects that are found in space. Make
your activity colourful, drawing/ pasting some pictures.
satellite in orbit is essentially following a curved path, which is a type of circular
A
motion. To maintain this motion. a centrifugal force is needed, which is provided by the
gravitational attraction between the satellite and the central body (Earth). Calculate their
centripetal force using the formula F=mv2/r where F=centripetal force (gravitational
force in this case), m=mass of satellite (For e.g. A starlink satellite weighing around 260
kgs), v= orbital velocity=7.9 km/s, orbital radius-=6913 kms.Math Activity
Take a careful look at the given picture. It is a satellite. Collect more information about
satellites and their usefulness and write them down in about 10-12 lines. With the help
f coloured papers, create a small satellite and stick it on the project paper, labelling its
o
important parts as a part ofScience activity.Ifyou see a bright star moving in the sky,
it's probably a satellite.
unita Williams was "stuck" in space for nine months due to technical issues with the
S
Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which was supposed to be carrying them back to Earth.
The mission, originally intended to be a short test flight, was plagued by malfunctions ,
including helium leaks and thruster problems, forcing them to remain aboard the
International Space Station (SS). Sunita Williams returned to Earth aboard a SpaceX
Dragon capsule named Freedom, after spending nine months in space on the
International Space Station. The capsule splashed down off the coast of Florida. Collect
more information and pictures aboutSunitaWilliams and try to create a time line of her
journey to and from space for yourSocial ScienceActivity.
NOTE :
rite down your learning outcome from every activity after completing it.

Those who are writing a book and publishing it need not do the holiday homework if
they are able to submit the evidence. Let's work for making the vacation meaningful.
