1. Social-Connect Pvt. Ltd. is a mobile manufacturing company. The manager of the company observed that the
market is dynamic and a lot of changes were taking place in the mobile market and hence, the risk of the product
becoming obsolete is high. The designs of the phones are governed by requirements and preferences of the
customers. He started incorporating new and advanced features taking clue from the consumers and with the help of
his workers. Identify the characteristic of management highlighted in this case.
2. Anushka Fabric Ltd. has been able to achieve its production targets as per plans using a new German technology.
Its employees are happy and satisfied with their pay scale and working environment in the organisation. All the work
proceeds as per plans and there is orderliness in the entire functioning of the organisation. Identify the feature of
the management discussed above.
3. Pallavi started a wedding planner company 'Dreams Unlimited' in 2016 and her target was to be amongst
the top 10 companies in this field within the next three years. For this she employed people having different skills.
She worked hard and united the efforts of different people to achieve this goal. The requirements of the customers
in this industry changed very fast and the company adapted to keep pace with the changing environment. As
planned, the company achieved its target within three years. All the employees of the organisation were happy and
satisfied and the effect of management was noticeable in the organisation. The way Pallavi was managing her
business highlights some of the features of management. By quoting lines from the above paragraph, explain any
two such features.
4. Hitesh is the Chief Executive Officer of 'Kids Garments Ltd.' Due to festive season, Hitesh got an additional order of
10,000 garments which he had to supply within two days. Due to his goodwill in the market, he did not want to lose
the order, So, he decided to achieve the target by operating on double shifts. He achieved the target and supplied
the order within two days. But due to double shifts, his cost of production was higher than the regular production
cost. Identify and give the meaning of the two concepts of management discussed in the above para.
5. Akash works as a production manager in 'Elite Enterprises' manufacturing LED lights. Due to festive season,
there is lot of demand for their lights. Akash was given the task of producing 100 units of LED lights @ f200 per
unit within 5 days for an urgent order. Akash was able to achieve the target of 100 units of LED lights within 5 days
@ f220 per unit. Identify from the following whether Akash is:

He analysed the situation and found that the new salesman appointed last month was not good and for this

from Germany. During the production process, the manager observed that the quality of production is not as
per standard and very often production is disrupted due to break-down of machinery. The workers get
frustrated by continuous rejection of output and start showing resistance towards new technology. To
increase the efficiency of the workers, the company decided to train their workers on-the-job under the able
guidance of specialists. The workers who are able to pick up the skills are promoted and made in charge of
the not so trained groups. This created positive impact and everybody became keen to learn. Suggestions
from the workers are valued and workers are encouraged to communicate freely.
