this story is abridged from Ronald Dahl’s novel “The Boy” the author's

family got their first motor car a French automobile on a mild Christmas
holiday they decided to go on their first drive with the author’s 21 years
old sister driving with just the learning of two half hour lessons and no
license but this much was considered enough in the year of 1920 the
drive started with great excitement and decision of going on high speed
which eventually led to an accident causing everyone to fall out and the
nine year old author at that time to cut his nose the sister was then
asked to rush to the hospital she had trouble controlling the car but
somehow made it to doctor Dunbar’s clinic who did the author’s
surgery and sewed his nose back together the author woke up in his own
bed where his mother rewarded him for his courage and bravery
