Class XII English Assignment (2025-26)

This project is mandatory as it carries marks. It has two parts; A & B. The project must be
handwritten. (no printouts accepted except for first 3 pages; Introduction,
Acknowledgement, School seal and Principal’s signature.

Part A: Literature-Based Assignment (Textual)


Based on NCERT Flamingo and Vistas

Objective: Reinforce learning of chapters covered and improve comprehension, critical


thinking, and creative expression.

Instructions:

• Choose any three of the following tasks based on any three chapters (two from
Flamingo and one from Vistas).
• The file should include proper assignment holding 15 to 20 pages.
• The assignment has to be handwritten. Printouts can be permitted only for adding
pictures, data, some reference surveys/ interviews, etc.

1. Character Diary Entry:


Write a first-person diary entry from the perspective of a character from any
chapter (min. 200 words). Express their thoughts during a critical moment.
2. Theme-Based Mind Map:
Create a colourful and well-organized mind map around the central theme(s) of
any one chapter.
3. Letter to the Author:
Write an imaginary letter to the author of a story or essay appreciating their
work and expressing your opinion about the issues raised.
4. Alternate Ending:
Rewrite the ending of any short story or prose piece from Vistas, keeping the
tone and characters consistent.
5. Visual Summary / Comic Strip:
Create a comic strip or a visual storyboard summarizing any one poem or prose
text in 6–8 frames.
6. Comparative Analysis:
Compare any two characters, incidents, or themes from two different chapters in
tabular format (300–400 words).

Part B: Research & Presentation (Creative & Analytical)

Objective: Develop research, presentation, and analytical skills through exploration of real-
world or literary themes.

▪ The students will present the project during VIVA along with the project file as the
marks for same will be uploaded on CBSE portal and will add to their result.
▪ The students will have to present the topic for about 3 to 4 minutes and will be cross
questioned by the examiner and his peer/class fellow. He/she may be asked about
their suggestions, their follow up on the topic, etc.
▪ A problem solving question will have to be cracked by the mutual discussion of the
teamed students.

Choose any one topic from the list below:

You are expected to research, write a report (800–1000 words). Your report must include :-
introduction to the topic, objective or purpose of selection of the topic/ details and facts,
statistics/data, interviews/ podcast references/ research/ analysis, etc.

Suggested Topics: (students can opt for any other topic of their choice however must be
first confirmed by the subject teacher.)

(Go beyond basic reading/writing to discuss values, critical thinking, and meaningful
education.)

(Balanced view on how technology empowers and endangers mental health, focus,
and relationships.)
14. AI on the Rise: Will Intelligence Replace Wisdom?
(Debate the promises and ethical dilemmas of Artificial Intelligence in everyday life.)

(Discuss why reading is fading, and how to revive it among young minds.)

Layout of your report:-

• Title
• Objective and outcome
• Introduction and significance of the topic
• Key Points and connectivity of the students to the topic
• Interviews/data/research/podcast references,etc.
• Conclusion
• A quote or statistic?

Submission Guidelines:

• Submit both parts in a single folder (hard copy in spiral bind file). Kindly confirm the
project with your subject teacher before final binding of the file.
• Submission date will be 25th of June 2025.
• Cover Page must include:

Name, Class, Roll Number, Subject, Assignment Title

• Declaration and Acknowledgement


• School seal and stamp
• Originality is expected. Plagiarized work will not be accepted.
• Use A4 sheets
• Handwriting must be neat and legible For the research project:
o Use bullet points, headers, and subheadings.
o Cite at least 2 reliable sources (books, websites, or articles).
