The NHD Heat detector is non-mechanical and uses a thermister of low thermal mass as the
sensing element giving a fast response. Four different response grades are available to BS
5445/EN54 part 5, grades 1, 2, 3 plus a high temperature version to BS 5445/EN54 Part 8.
Although these detectors operate on the principle of a fixed threshold only, their fast
response make them generally suitable where combined rate-of-rise heat detectors would
normally be required.
The NHD heat detectors are unobtrusive and attractive in appearance. A very low
monitoring current is used and a red fire LED indicator is incorporated, which latches in
alarm. All NHD heat detectors have four terminals, as standard, allowing a transistor
switching facility capable of ‘sinking’ 100mA, ideally suitable for switching remote LED
indicators.

The glass element is pre-scored to break easily under thumb pressure and thus no striker is required.
The NCPK-IS is suitable for a Zone 2 environment, classification Ex N IIC T6. The NCPK-IS call point has
an IP rating of IP54.

The NBM-06 is designed specifically for applications where low current consumption is required.
The NBM-08 is weatherproof and comes complete with it's own mounting box, I.P. rating I.P.65.
Measuring only six centimetres deep this Low Profile Banshee Sounder blends unobtrusively into back-
ground in to most installations. The LFB24 features Buzz, Fast Sweep, Slow Sweep and Continuous tones.
Supply Voltage: 8-35V d.c., Current: <12mA, Sound Output: 103dB @ 1 metre, IP65 rated.
The NCP-K470 is fitted with a 470 Ohm short circuit series monitor resistor. Each call point is
supplied with a test key which, when inserted, simulates breaking the glass by allowing it to drop,
causing actual operation of the micro-switch.
The NCP-K470-WP is fitted with a 470 Ohm short circuit series monitor resistor. Each call point is
supplied with a test key which, when inserted, simulates breaking the glass by allowing it to drop,
causing actual operation of the micro-switch.
Also available are the ST-P-DA Photoelectric and ST-I-DA Ionisation smoke detectors which include a
special service alarm facility. The detector's indicating LED illuminates green when the smoke chamber
requires cleaning and red for fire alarm, also the service alarm signal can be shown at the control panel.
The STA-D5 has a revolutionary 'one pipe system', the Venturi Principle is achieved by the use of a single
pipe with two built-in channels which direct's the airflow smoothly through the detector's chamber and
return's the air back into the duct.
The VCT-03-NT sounder base gives systems designers a new low profile design, while giving the installers reduced installation time with it’s
wide cable access and rising clamp terminals.
Wiring from the fire alarm control panel’s sounder circuit may wired directly into the VCT-03-NT base mounted sounder and then on to the next
sounder.
Please note the VCT-03-NT is not supplied with a base, the base has to ordered separately.
The VRS-1 sounder is small in size but big on sound output. With it’s low current consumption and high sound output the ST-VMS gives
systems designers increased flexibility where a sounder with minimum visual impact is required.
Wiring from the fire alarm control panel’s sounder circuit may wired directly into the VRS-1 bedhead mounted sounder and then on the next
sounder.
Current: <12mA
The ST-I-AS has a chemically etched screen to improve smoke entry whilst reducing the
ingress of insects and airborne contaminants.
Variant: ST-I-AS Ionisation Sensor, Black. 041c/10
As the smoke enters the sensor, the amount of scattered light increases. This change is detected
by the photo-diode and is amplified before being converted into a digital signal and transmitted to
the control equipment.
Variant: ST-P-AS Photoelectric Sensor, Black. 041c/09
5 bit analogue data plus 1 range selector bit are used to give greater definition over a wide temperature
sensing range.

Inside both the ST-NCP-AS and ST-NCP-AS-WP call points there is a miniature, innovative and
unobtrusive 'electronic component housing' which will allow the call point to be mounted in a variety of
surface and flush mounting back boxes.
Both call points include a LED indicator on the front cover. This LED flashes to indicate correct
ST-NCP-AS
communication with the control equipment, the LED will remain constantly illuminated when the call
point is in fire condition.
The ST-NCP-AS and ST-NCP-AS-WP call points operate on a reliable and well proven design, by
releasing a concealed microswitch when the glass is broken. The glass element is pre-scored to break
easily under thumb pressure and thus no striker is required. A plastic film which covers the surface of
the glass prevents the possibility of injury caused by the release of glass fragments.
Each manual call point is supplied with a test key which, when inserted, simulates breaking the glass
by allowing it to drop, causing actual operation of the microswitch.
The ST-NCP-AS and ST-NCP-AS-WP forms part of NITTAN (UK) LTD “AS” range of
SENSORTEC-ANALOGUE addressable equipment and should only be used on suitable and
compatible control panels. If in doubt, refer to panel manufacturer for advice. ST-NCP-AS-WP

Considerable cost savings will be achieved as there is no need to provide additional power supply cabling.
Please refer to Instruction Manual NISM/NAM2/01 for further information on the NAM-AS2.
As per the NAM-AS2 this module operates on two wires, the Sig+ and -S loop cable and does not require
an external power supply.
Please refer to Instruction Manual NISM/OCM2/01 for further information on the OCM-AS2.
The MCM-AS3 may be used for a variety of purposes such as monitoring a zone of conventional detec-
tors and at the same time controlling fire doors, plant or smoke ventilators via the on board VFCO relay.
Please refer to Instruction Manual NISM/MCM3/01 for further information on the MCM-AS3.
The sounder circuit is monitored with an end of line resistor, just as a conventional sounder circuit, and can
drive up to 500mA of sounder load. Polarised sounders are required, or a blocking diode should be used.
Please refer to Instruction Manual NISM/SCM3/01 for further information on the SCM-AS3.
By using short circuit isolators on the loop, the section of wiring containing the short may be isolated
from the remainder of the loop therfore limiting the extent of the disablement to only the cable between
two adjacent short circuit isolators. The remainder of the loop will still continue to function as normal.
Ideally short circuit isolators should be fitted wherever the loop crosses a fire compartment zonal
boundary, also on either side of critical devices such as sounder control modules and at the beginning
and at the end of the loop.
In addition to the IP55 housing the SCI-4 incorporates two yellow LED indicators which are visible
through the enclosure and indicate the direction of the short circuit fault condition.
A new version of the SCI-4 called SCI-6, will be available at the end of 2001. The new short circuit
isolator will be mountable on a single gang, standard electrical, surface mounting type box.

high sound output is required.
With an operating frequency of 800-1000Hz each sounder provides sound within the frequency range specified in BS5839. The sounder
also has a wide operating voltage range of 8-35V d.c..
Different tones are available by selecting either Warble, Sweep, or Continuous via the jumper fitted to the PCB.
A second stage alarm may be switched, via the control panel, so the Pips tone will override the tone selected.

The advantage of the Two-Wire system makes the installation easier therefore greatly
reducing installation costs. All control panels incorporate a tactile membrane display with
facilities for both the end user and Engineer. A simple code provides the end user with
restricted access but allows an Engineer entry to the operator and engineering functions.
All the Two-Wire control panels can be utilised as a standard conventional panel in addition to
the Two-Wire configuration. This enables a mixture of zones to be configured as Two-Wire
and other zones can be configured as standard conventional type.
