 Homeo Philosophy
Homeopathic system of medicine was founded by Dr
Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician (1755 – 1843). The
basic principle is LIKES CURE LIKES. A drug capable of
producing a set of symptoms in a healthy individual cures when
administered in micro form to a sick individual having similar set
of symptoms. The cure is gentle, quick and permanent. The order
of cure is center to circumference, inwards to outwards and
upward to downward. This system searches for the cause of the
sickness. Totality of symptoms is taken into account before
arriving at a drug. It deals with the whole patient as one unit and
not by part. It believes in single drug, minimum dose and
infrequent repetition. Homeo drugs are obtained from vegetable,
mineral and animal kingdoms. It aids the nature in the body to
vitalize itself and thus repair the system. The cause for any
sickness is due to imbalance in the vital force (dynamis) in the
body and there are acute and chronic diseases as per the system.
This acute one runs its course and disappears with or without
medicine. The chronic one is deep seated, whether acquired or
inherited from the parents. Chronic diseases are due to three
miasms in the body as per the homeopathy and those are psora
(itch, mental and physical), syphilis and sycosis (gonorrhea).
Psora is all pervading the other two are the offshoots of
psora in action. In treating chronic diseases, one should eradicate
the above miasms from the body and for this a constitutional,
prolonged, individualized treatment is required.
Potency
Homeopathy medicines represented in the X and C potencies
are about the strength of the medicine. The safe potency for
beginner is 6C, 30C or 6X, 12X.
Repetition
If after taking a selected drug, improvement is observed the
old potency and earlier drug should be repeated at infrequent
intervals to get back to normalcy.
Second prescription
A drug is elected after taking into consideration of all the
symptoms. If during the course of treatment fresh and new
symptoms arise and the course of disease is changing, a fresh look
has to be taken and alternative medicine to be selected.
The process of cure goes in the reverse order of the disease
progress that is the last appeared symptoms going first and first
appeared symptoms at the end.
The principles of homeopathy are codified and written in
book called organon.
Homeopathy is the cheapest one in the present-day world. It
has no side effects and can be safely used a lay person as first and
for two to three days.
Children love to have these medicated sugar pills.
 Introduction
Inspired by DR GV Chalapathi and his team’s noble service
to the society, we few friends joined together and started a
voluntary serve organization called, Homeopathic Self Reliance
Forum at DRDO Township, Bangalore for the health care of
members of our families.
Dr GV Chalapathi is stanch champion of the cause of
homeopathic system and an outstanding practitioner of this art
and science of healing. He has been rendering free medical aid on
voluntary basis for over four and half decades, especially to those
for whom Institutional Medicare is beyond reach. He is
propagating human service mission not only the medical
treatment but also through publishing books, promoting self
reliance in health care by conducting homeopathic awareness
camps. So far about 60 camps are conducted by a team of faculty
under his leadership at various parts of Andhra Pradesh,
Karnataka, Goa for the benefit of common people at free of cost.
He is the founder and President homeopathic self-reliance forum,
Ananthapur (AP).Sri Krishnadevaraya University in recognition
of his selfless service to the community and homeopathy
conferred on him the Degree of letters, Honoris Causa.
Activities of HSRF Bangalore consist of health care, social
reforms, bringing homeopathic awareness and fostering society’s
well being. Forum’s function and benefits thereon, introduced
many families to join the same either by extending service or by
utilizing the services. Our members constitute individuals from
various walks of life like scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers,
educationists, general workers, housewives, students and so on.
One of the main objectives of our forum is to apprise the
public about the efficacy of homeopathy system. Nowadays
health care has become quite costly without assured results. It has
become out of reach for a common man. Homeopathy is the only
system which is safe, simple and economical. Father of our nation
Mahatma Gandhi said “homeopathy is the latest and refined
method of treating patients economically and refined method of
treating patients economically and non-violently. Government
must encourage and patronize it in our country”
 Awareness about the art of cure by this system, amongst the
general public helps them to use this as first aid for day-to-day
simple problems. Many health complications can be avoided by
attending the ailments at its initial stage itself. Further it builds up
confidence of the people in the system and they feel encouraged
to approach homeopaths for their complicated and chronic
problems.
In line with the above objectives, homeopathic consumer
association and homeopathic self reliance forum are jointly
bringing out this book for the benefit of common public. This
information in this book is collection and compilation from
various books by the members of HSRF, Ananthapur and
Bangalore, coupled with their own experiences. This book is
presented in two parts. First part deals with medicines and its uses
called Materia Medica. Second part deals with disease, symptoms
and indicated remedies called repertory.
This book is dedicated to all those great people who have
sacrificed their lives for the welfare of humanity.

 General instructions on the use of Homeopathic Medicines
Dosage
Typical dose is four pills of size 20 of all ages
Repetition
Generally, the dose should be repeated once in 4 to 6 hours.
However, dose could be repeated at short intervals of 1, 2, 3
hours, depending on the need. In emergencies such as high
temperature, severe asthma attacks, convulsions very high or low
BP, retention of urine, shock and trauma resulting from accidents
or sudden grief, etc., this dose could be repeated more frequently
(even at 5 or 10 minutes interval) in such situations it is preferable
to dissolve about 10 pills in half a cup of water, a teaspoonful of
which constitute one dose.
Drug relationship
It is preferable to use one remedy at a time. However, if
strongly indicated or in acute emergency cases, more than one
medicine can also be given. In such case, it is important to check
from Materia Medica the relationship of the chosen remedies.
More than one medicine can be used alternatively depending on
the need, if they are not inimical (unfriendly or hostile) or
antidotes (nullify the action of the other)
It is better if the chosen remedies are complimentary (aid the
action of the other) sometimes most of the symptoms will be
cleared with one remedy and few remedy will be left over. A
supplementary (follows well without disturbing the function of
previous remedy) can be used after stopping the first remedy for
clearing, remaining symptom. To nullify the action of previous
remedy or wrongly used remedy and anti dote can be used.
How to take the medicine?
Rinse mouth thoroughly with water before taking the
medicine. Do not touch the medicine by hand. Take minimum
four pills on the cap of the bottle and take it into mouth. Do not
chew or swallow, let the pills dissolve by rotating the tongue.
Allow at least 30 minutes gap before and after taking medicine,
for eating or drinking anything other than water. Early morning
dose on empty stomach is most effective. Do not brush teeth
before taking medicine. First rinse the mouth well with plain
water and take the medicine as suggested above. Brush teeth after
15 minutes.
How to store the medicine?
Close the medicine bottle with its own plug or cap
immediately after use. Do not interchange the caps of different
bottles, protect the medicine from dust, direct sunlight and strong
smell of camphor, spices, agarbathis, perfumes etc. do not keep
homeopathic medicines together with medicines of other systems.
Diet restrictions
There are no general diet restrictions. However, it is
advisable to avoid smoking, pan chewing, alcohol and strong
stimulants while using the medicines. Coffee is contra indicated
for a few homeopathic medicines. The food items that worsen the
disease symptoms should be restricted till total health is restored.
For example, excess acidic natured food in gastric troubles,
excess phlegm forming food in respiratory troubles should be
avoided. For better health observes discipline and control over
food habits.
Potency
It is safe to use low potencies that is 30 and below, by the
amateurs/ beginners. Seek the advice of experienced to use high
potencies. Deep and long-acting remedies like Sulphur,
lycopodium etc. should not be used too frequently refer Materia
medica.
Expiry date
No expiry date for homeopathic medicines. If preserved in
glass bottle, plugged tightly and protected well, it can be used
even after many years.
Note
As a first aid one can try only for two or three days. If there
is no positive result, approach nearest homeopath/ any doctor.

 Materia Medica
Aconitum Napellus (Aconite) [Acon.]
 This is quick and short acting drug. Excellent remedy for
acute conditions. This is the first remedy to be thought of in
sudden appearance of all complaints. It should be used in the
beginning of any acute disease like cold, cough, fever, flu,
pains, inflammations etc. if there is no improvement, even after
few doses, Aconite may not help. Review the symptoms and
select suitable remedy.
 Complaints caused from exposure to dry cold weather (winter)
or very hot weather (summer).
 Great fear and anxiety with physical and mental restlessness.
Fear of death, crowds, crossing street, future. Fear of death in
pregnancy.
 Illness due to fear or shock namely fever, threatened
miscarriage or suppressed menses, diarrhoea or dysentery etc.
 Headache comes on with sudden violence with fullness and
heaviness.
 Eyes red inflamed with sensation of sand. Eye injury due to
foreign body in eyes. Aconite-200 is advisable.
 Cold with sneezing and watering or nose block with dryness.
Pain at root of nose. Bleeding from nose.
 Ear ache, external ear hot, red, painful and swollen. Very
sensitive to noises.
 Facial neuralgia, tingling and numbness in cheeks, Bell’s palsy
(facial paralysis) due to exposure to dry cold wind.
 Cough comes on suddenly. Constant, short dry hacking cough.
Worse at night.
 Sudden onset of fever with chilliness, throbbing pulse, great
restlessness, thirst for large quantities of cold water. Symptoms
relieved by sweating. Sudden fever with no appreciable cause.
 Retention of urine in new born infant. Aconite-6 every 15
minutes helps to create urination. For jaundice in new born
infant, Aconite-6 every 3 hours is advisable.

 Convulsions in teething children.
 Diarrhoea of infants during summer.
 Faint or giddy, momentary blackout on rising or shaking head.
 Sudden inflammation in any area like ovaries, kidneys, eyes,
face, ears etc.
 Aconite-200 helps in reducing high B.P temporarily. Acute
stitching pains in heart region. Palpitation and anxiety, fainting
and tingling in fingers.
 Sleeplessness with restlessness. Insomnia of aged.
 All problems worse in warm room, evening, night, lying on
affected side, from music, from tobacco smoke and dry cold
winds. Better in open air.
Allium Cepa (All. Cep.) [All-c]
 Acute attack of cold with severe sneezing, nose watering
(acrid nasal discharge) eyes red, burning and watering bland
lachrimation.
 Headache due to cold, mostly in forehead. Headache ceases
during menses and returns when flow stops.
 Earache with shooting pain in Eustachian tube.
 A must for neuralgic pain following amputations or nerve
injury.
 Hacking cough on inhaling cold air, hoarseness, tickling in
larynx. Sensation as if larynx is split or torn.
 Bad effects of getting feet wet.
 Diarrhoea with very offensive flatus (gas downward). Stitching
pain, glowing heat, itching and rhagades in anus.
 Urine red and with much pressure and burning in urethra.
 Yawning with headache and drowsiness
 All problems worse in warm room and evening, damp cold
weather. Better in open air and in cold room

 Antimonium Crudum (Ant. Crud.) [Ant-c]
 Digestive problem of children and aged. Thick white coated
tongue is the redline symptom of this drug.
 Bad effects of tinned food (Amul, Ceralac etc.)
 Constipation or loose motions with white stool and foul smell
 Frequent discharge of flatus (gas) with smell and noise
 After nursing, child vomits milk in curds and refuses to nurse
afterwards
 Stomach ache relieved by movement or rocking on lap
 Overloading of the stomach with biscuits and pastry food
resulting in constipation or loose motions
 Constipation alternating with loose motions in old people
 Protrusion of rectum after stool in children
 Fever due to disordered stomach with thick white coating on
tongue
 Ailments due to heat of stove or heat of sun
 Bad effects from cold bathing more so in rivers, canals
(flowing water), swimming or dividing into water
 Headache with great loss of hair. Headache from disordered
stomach or from bathing
 Pimples, pustules and boils on face
 Cracks in corners of mouth. Dry lips
 Eczema with gastric complains. Warts. Dry gangrene. Corns in
legs
 Finger nails split and grow out of shape
 Arthritis of old people
 Sentimental mood in the moon light. Disposition to commit
suicide by shooting
 Child cannot bear to be touched or looked at. Cross and
contradictive. Peevish, vexed without cause
 All problems worse in the evening from heat, acids, wine,
water and washing, wet poultices. Better in open air, rest, moist
warmth

 Antimonium Tartaricum (Ant. Tart.) [Ant-t]
 It is one of the best remedies for respiratory problems like
cough, wheezing, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.
 Great rattling of mucus, but very little is expectorated.
Bronchial tubes overloaded with mucus. Rapid, short, difficult
breathing. Seems as if he would suffocate, must sit up erect.
Better lying on right side
 Nausea and vomiting in any position except lying on right side
 Amoebic dysentery. Spasmodic pain in abdomen with much
flatus
 Cholera morbus. Diarrhoea in eruptive diseases
 Burning in urethra during and after urination
 Violent pain sacro-lumber region, slightest effort to move may
cause retching and cold clammy sweat
 It helps in clearing bluish-red scars or pitting caused by
pimples or pustules. Warts on penis
 In the treatment of chicken-pox when the eruptions are filled
with pus. Preventive for small-pox
 Suffocation due to drowning, at birth, mucus choking, foreign
body in throat. Relieves death rattle
 Continuous shivering of mouth and chin
 Great drowsiness. Electric like shocks on falling asleep
 In all complaints, tremendous desire to sleep
 Vertigo (giddiness) alternates with drowsiness. Headache as
from band compressing
 All problems worse in the evening, from lying down at night,
from warmth, in damp cold weather, from all sour things and
mild. Better from sitting erect, from eructation and
expectoration, lying on right side.
Apis Mellifica (Apis Mel.) [Apis.]
 Swelling or puffing up of various parts, edema red rosy hue,
stinging pains, soreness, intolerance of heat and slight touch,
afternoon aggravation and better by cold applications.

 Inflammation of various parts e.g., brain (brain fever), heart,
kidneys (nephritis), rectum (piles), ovaries etc.
 Edema on any part of the body, e.g., legs, eyes, throat, face,
ovary, testicles, often right sided.
 For bites of bee, wasp and other insects. Swelling burning and
stinging pain, better by cold applications
 Women and girls normally careful become awkward and drop
things.
 Headache with sudden stabbing pins, bores head into the pillow
and screams out
 Eye lids swollen, red, inflamed, burn and sting. Excellent
medicine to cure conjunctivitis (Madras eye)
 Face, nose, lips, ears red, swollen, puffy with stinging and
burning pains
 Sensation of fish bone in throat. Throat and tonsils swollen and
red with stinging pain
 Abdomen extremely tender. Dropsy of abdomen
 Cannot urinate without stool. Involuntary stool on every
movement
 Frequent and involuntary urination with burning and soreness.
Urine scanty high coloured with casts. Last drops burn and
smart
 Great remedy for inflammation of ovaries especially right side
with soreness and stinging pain
 Ovarian tumors. Great tenderness over abdomen and uterine
region
 Severe pain in ovaries during menses. Menses suppressed,
especially in young girls
 One of the best remedies to prevent abortion
 Knees and feet swollen, shiny, sore with stinging pain and
stiffness
 Red rashes on whole body with itching and stinging. Better by
cold application

 Jealousy and bad effects from it. Irritable and hard to please,
weeping
 All problems worse with heat in any form, touch, pressure, late
in afternoon, after sleeping in closed and heated rooms, right
side. Better in open air, uncovering and cold application
Arnica Montana (Arnica) [Arn.]
 An excellent remedy after a fall or accident. It cures bruises,
sprains and injuries. Clears mental or physical shock after a
fall.
 If given immediately after blow, call or physical shock, it
prevents pain and other ill effects
 It clears the bad effects of concussions and contusions, noticed
even after many years
 Prevents suppuration after injuries and promotes absorption of
blood clot. It dissolves blood clots.
 Sore, lame, bruised feeling throughout body as if beaten and
feels bed is very hard
 Ear ache or dullness of hearing after concussions or loud
sounds of blasts (Deepavali crackers sound). Blood from ears.
 Eye becoming black due to blow. Bruised and sore feeling in
eyes after eye strain.
 Ill effects after over exertion of any organ. Exhaustion after
cycling, physical exercise, plying, gardening, mountain
climbing, swimming dancing, singing etc.
 Before and after surgery or tooth extraction. Toothache after
gold filling. Wisdom tooth painful
 Threatened abortion after a blow or fall or blast. Sore and
bruised parts after delivery
 Retention of urine after a fall or accident or over-exertion
 Bad effects of charcoal vapors
 Low I.Q in children due to forceps delivery
 Homeo morphine. First drug to be thought of in fractures

 Over tired muscles – a good replacement for old fashioned
massage
 In whooping cough child cries before coughing
 Cardiac distress due to physical fatigue
 Diarrhoea s after a fall or accident
 Dislocation of intestines due to fall or accident
 Gout and rheumatism with great fear of being touched or
approached. Pain in back and limbs as if bruised or beaten
 First remedy in Apoplexy, left sided paralysis
 Eruptions of small pimples. Crops of small boils. Ecchymosis.
Bed sores.
 One part of external tincture to be mixed in 9 parts of cold
water and to be applied on sprained or bruised parts. Note: it
should not be applied if the skin is cut
 Sleepless and restless when over tired. Dream of death,
mutilated bodies, anxious and terrible. Horrors in the night.
 Good hair tonic. In 200 ml of good quality coconut oil, mix 15
ml each of Arnica and Cantharis external tinctures. It is
excellent hair oil. Cools head and brain. Shake well before each
application. Note: for people suffering from chronic cold and
sinus problems, it is not advisable
 All problems worse from least touch, motion, rest, wine and
damp cold. Better lying down or with head low
Arsenicum Album (Ars. Alb.) [Ars.]
 It is a polychrest. A profoundly acting remedy on every organ
and tissue
 Excessive thirst for small quantities of water in frequent
intervals, midnight aggravation of all problems, extreme
weakness are important guiding symptoms
 The chief characteristics symptoms of this drug are anxiety,
restlessness, prostration, burning cadaveric (dead body) odour,
fear, fastidious, periodicity, irritability and thirst

 Great anxiety and mental restlessness. Great fear with cold
sweat, fears of death, of being left alone. Thinks it useless to
take medicine. Suicidal. Changes place to place. Sensitive to
disorder
 Headache is relieved by cold washing and by walking in cold
air. Itching and burning on scalp, circular bare spots, dandruff
 All discharges from eyes, ear, nose and vagina are thin
excoriating and offensive. The skin on which it flows becomes
raw and burning. Better by warm application
 Nose feels stopped although it flows freely. Sneezing without
relief, worse in open air and better indoors.
 Ulcers in mouth with stitching and burning pains. Nervous pain
in teeth. Unhealthy and easily bleeding gums. Better by warm
application
 Throat infections and inflammations. Very painful to swallow,

kicks, bites, tears things to pieces and pulls hair. Want to attack
attendants and run away.
 Hot weather drug. Complaints of summer heat e.g., headache,
fever, sunstroke etc.
 Best preventive and curative drug for Brain fever
(Encephalitis), Madras eye (conjunctivitis), German measles
(Rubella), Scarlet Fever and Air sickness. Bell-200 advisable
as preventive.
 Controls temperature in high fever state with racing
temperature and prevents convulsions. No thirst with fever.
Bell can cure fever only if its symptoms are present. Otherwise,
after temperature is controlled with Bell, treat with indicating
remedy according to symptoms.

 Chief guiding symptoms are, all mucus membranes are dry,
thick white coated tongue, thirst for large quantities of
water at long intervals. All problems are worse even with
slightest movement
 It is hot dry weather drug. Complaints of summer. Disease
symptoms appear very slowly.
 Exceedingly irritable. Always talks of business

 Busting, splitting headache, worse on motion, even of eyeballs.
Frontal sinus headache. Better by tight bandage or pressure.

Cantharides (Cantharis) [Canth.]
 Violent inflammation or urinary and sexual organs, causing
furious delirium, anxious, restlessness, crying and barking.
Restlessness makes him to move constantly
 Burning urination. Urine passed drop by drop with constant
urge to urinate. Intolerable burning and cutting pain before,
during and after urination. Give Cantharis-30 every 15 minutes
till severe pain is relieved.
 Acute or chronic urinary tract infection. Pus cells in urine.
Blood passed with urine.
 Excellent remedy for all types of burns. Burns due to fire,
acids, chemicals, fumes, deepavali crackers or any hot
substances. Sun burns and silencers burns. Give Cantharis-30
internally and apply Cantharis solution externally, before the
formation of blisters or after the formation of blisters. To make
Cantharis solution, mix one part of Cantharis external tincture
with 20 parts of clean water (preferably warm). Make fresh
solution each time before applying.

 This patient is sluggish, fat, lazy and has tendency to
chronicity. Sluggishness in circulation of blood, coldness of
body and desire to be fanned.
 Persons who never recovered fully from the effects of some
previous illness.
 Aversion to darkness. Fear of ghosts. Sudden loss of memory.
Aversion to mental and physical work. Lazyness.
 Headache from any over indulgence. Hair feels sore, falls off
easily. Head feels heavy and constricted. Vertigo (giddiness)
with nausea and tinnitus.
 Vision of black floating spots. Burning in eyes.
 Daily nose bleed with pale face. Ineffectual effort to sneeze.

 Chief remedy for problems due to intestinal worms. This is
another children’s remedy.
 Child very cross; does not want to be touched or crossed or
carried. Wants many things but rejects when offered. Ill
humour. Very irritable.

Colocynthis [Coloc.]
 An excellent remedy for agonising stomach and abdominal
pain. If no indicated drug can be traced, give this remedy to
find immediate relief.

 Extremely irritable. Becomes angry when questioned. Ailments
from shame and anger.
 Vertigo when turning head to the left. Lateral cutting headache
with nausea and vomiting. Better by pressure and heat. Frontal
headache; worse stooping, lying on back.
 Pressure and pain in eye balls as if they would fall out. The
pain is very violent and could be an indication of beginning of
Glaucoma. Pains better by pressure.
 Tearing, shooting and swelling face; severe pain on left side.
Better by pressure.
 Very bitter taste in mouth. Tongue very rough. Lot of hunger.
 Severe and unbearable cutting pain in stomach or abdomen,
feels better when pressed tightly with hand or bending
forward. This pain can be due to indiscriminate eating or
during menses or caused by shame and anger. Children lying
on stomach and crying with pain need this remedy for relief.
 It is one of the best drugs for dysentery (blood and mucus) in
the first stage. Dysentery stool renewed each time by least
food or drink. Severe pain relieved immediately after stool.
 Boring pain in ovaries. Small cystic tumors in ovaries or broad
ligaments. Cramping pains in abdomen, better by bending
forward or pressing. Menses pains.
 Pain in abdomen or urinating. During stool intense burn along
urethra. Discharge like fresh white of egg from urethra.
 It is one of the best drugs for sciatic pain, more so on the left
side. Pain better by pressure and heat. Give frequent doses for
immediate relief.
 This remedy is often indicated in the transition season when air
is cold, but the sun is hot.
 All problems worse from shame and anger, gentle touch. Better
by bending forward, hard pressure, warmth, lying with head
bent forward.

 Excellent remedy for rainy season. Problems during hot days
and cold nights at the close of summer or by exposure to damp
cold weather or by living in damp basements.
 Quite dominating and possessive nature. Feels others do not
understand and appreciate her. Self-centered. Anxiety for close
friends and relatives. Exaggerates problems out of proportion.
 Headache relieved by conversation. Ringworm of scalp.
Scalded, thick brown crusts, bleeding when scratched.
 Complete stoppage of nose when there is rain. Nose block
due to least cold air. Wants to keep the nose warm.
 Cold settles in eyes. Thick yellow discharge, granular lids.
Profuse watering of eyes with irritation and sneezing when
exposed to damp weather, worse in open air.
 Cold sores and facial neuralgia, worse by slightest exposure to
cold. Generally humid eruptions on cheeks and face.
 Aversion to food. Burning thirst for cold drinks. Heartburn.
Nausea accompanies the desire for stool. Vomiting of white
tenacious mucus.
 Cutting pain around navel after getting cold, inguinal glands
swollen.
 Diarrhoea when the weather suddenly becomes cold in summer
or during damp cold weather. Green, watery, slimy, bloody
stool.
 He must urinate when he feels chill. Urine has thick, mucus,
purulent sediment.
 Suppressed menses form cold or dampness. Rash on skin or
sexual excitement before menses appears.
 Cough and asthma worse in cold wet weather. Cough after
physical exertion.
 Stiff neck. Pain in back after stooping. Stiffness and lameness
across neck and shoulders after getting cold and wet.

Eupatorium Perfoliatum (Eupatorium) [Eup-Per.]
 An excellent drug for Influenza (flu) or malaria with
unbearable pain in bones and muscles. It is known as “Bone-
Set”.
 Wonderful drug for people living in damp marshy areas and
suffer from pains of bones.
 Periodical headache, ever 3rd and 7th day. Vertigo with
sensation of falling to left. Pain at back of head after lying
down, with sense of weight.
 Cracks in corners of mouth. Good remedy for gall bladder and
liver. Tongue yellow. Bitter taste. Liver region painful. Great
thirst. Vomiting and purging of large quantity of greenish bile.
Vomiting preceded by thirst. Hiccups.
 Frequent green watery stool. Constipated with painful liver.
Cramps in abdomen.
 Cold with sneezing. Hoarseness and cough with pain in chest.
Chronic loose cough worse at night. Cough relieved by getting
on hands and knees.
 In fevers sweat relieve all symptoms, except headache. Chill
between 7 and 9 A.M. preceded by great thirst. Great soreness
of muscles and pain in bones. Nausea and vomiting of bile.
 Severe pain in arms, wrist and bones of extremities. Pain in
back and soreness of whole body.

Euphrasia Officinalis (Euphrasia) [Euphr.]
 Very useful remedy for all problems of eyes. Eyes water all the
time. Profuse watery discharge from eyes and nose, but
burning or irritation only in eyes. Patient is better in open air.
 Sticky mucus discharge from eyes. Blinks frequently. Lids
burning and swelling.
 Irritation and discoloration of skin around eyes due to
discharge from eyes.
 Unable to open since lids are sticky while awaking from sleep.
 Bursting headache due to cold with eyes watering.
 Redness and heat of cheeks. Stiffness of upper lip.
 Nausea and bitterness after smoking.
 Menses painful; flow scanty lasts only an hour or a day.
Non-appearance of menses with inflamed eyes.
 Inflamed prostate; spasmodic retraction of genitals. Dribbling
urine.
 Frequently yawning while walking in open air. Cough only in
day time with eyes watering.
 Profuse and fluent cold in the morning with severe cough and
lot of expectorations.
 Gags when clearing the throat in morning.
 Influenza (flu), measles, fever with above eye symptoms.
Sweat mostly on chest, at night.
 All problems worse, in evening, indoors, warmth; south winds;
from light. Better in open air, from coffee, in dark.
 Homeo eye drops: dissolve one drop of Euphrasia Q (Mother
tincture) in 30-40 drops of clean lukewarm water. This lotion
can be used as eye drops, daily 3 or 4 times. It causes burning

 in eye for a few seconds. It is advisable to prepare fresh lotion
once in 3 or 4 days after discarding old lotion.
Ferrum Phosphoricum (Ferrum Phos) [Ferr-p.]
 It is Phosphate of iron and an oxygen carrier. It will cure first
stage of all fevers and inflammations, pains, bleeding of
bright red blood from any orifice, wounds, contusions, sprains
etc.
 It cures ailments caused by anemia. Ferrum Phos – 3 X (Bio
Salt) increases Hemoglobin.
 Headache better by cold application. Rush of blood to head. Ill
effects of sun-heat
 Eyes red, inflamed with burning. Feeling of sand under lids.
 Noises and throbbing pain in ears. Red inflammation in ears.
 Gets cold easily. Give immediately as soon as cold starts. Nose
bleed, bright red blood. Cold due to cold or heat.
 Flushed face, cheeks sore and hot. Facial neuralgia, worse
shaking head.
 Mouth red, hot and inflamed. Tonsils swollen and red.
Ulcerated sore throat. First stage of diphtheria.
 After operations on throat and nose to control bleeding and
relieve pain.
 It clears hoarseness and sore throat in singers. It is voice
toner during singing.

Gelsemium Sempervirens (Gelsemium) [Gels.]
 An excellent remedy for bad effects caused from emotional
excitement, fright, fear, exciting news, stage fear etc.
 Apprehension of any difficult ordeal ahead, for example:
attending interview or examination, appearing in public, acting
on stage, meeting important people or attending domestic
functions may cause diarrhoea, frequent urination, trembling,
fever, low or high BP or even fainting
 Excitement from pleasant news like getting job or promotion,
passing examination, winning lottery, attending domestic
functions, meeting close relatives/ friends after a long time may
also cause ailments as mentioned above.
 Desire to be quiet and left alone. Lack of courage. Lethargic.
 It acts well on nervous system. General weakness dizziness,
drowsiness, dullness and trembling.
 Muscular weakness. Lack of muscular coordination, muscles
refuse to obey.

bending forward open air, continued motion, stimulants. Most
of the symptoms will be relieved by profuse urination.
Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum (Hepar Sulph) [Hep-s.]
 Tendency to suppuration (pus formation). It is a double
edged Homeo Surgeon’s knife. In higher potency (200 and
above) it aborts pus formation and in lower potency (30 and
below) promotes pus formation. So, it is a great remedy to
drain out the pus that has formed in both abscesses and ulcers
(use lower potency).
 Anguish in the evening and night, with thoughts of suicide.
Gets irritated for simple reason. Dejected and sad. Ferocious.
Hasty speech. Hypersensitive.
 Vertigo and headache when shaking the head or riding on
vehicle. Sinus headache worse by pressure.

 Preventive and curative for Titanus (lockjaw) after injuries.
 Excessive and intolerable pain showing involvement of nerve.
 Great remedy after amputation. Relieves pain after operations.
 Preserves integrity of torn and lacerated tissues when almost
separated from the body
 Injuries to spinal cord. Severe pain in spine and coccyx after a
fall or blow or lumber puncture or injection to spine.
 Convulsions or headache after a blow or concussion or injury
to the head. Facial paralysis after forceps delivery (after
Arnica fails).
 Excellent remedy to cure painful injuries due to piercing of
thorns, pins, needles, nails, splinters etc. use before and after

Ipeacacuanha (Ipecac) [Ip.]
 An excellent remedy for all the problems associated with
nausea and vomiting. Nausea not relieved even after
vomiting.
 Bursting and crushing headache with nausea. Pain extends to
teeth and root of tongue.
 Eyes red, inflamed, profuse watering, eye balls painful. Nausea
form looking at moving objects.
 Nose bleed. Cold with nose block and nausea.
 Tongue clean, mount moist, much saliva, constant nausea and
vomiting with pale twitching of face.
 Vomiting of food, bile, blood and mucus. Feels stomach
relaxed, as if hanging down. Hiccup.
 Amoebic dysentery with tenesmus, severe pain and nausea,
little thirst. Cutting and clutching pain around the navel.
 Stools green and frothy with gripping pain at navel.
 Bleeding; bright red, active and gushing; accompanied with
nausea or passive from any part of the body. Frequent doses of
Ipecac-6 or 30 to control bleeding.

Kalium Muriaticum (Kali Mur) [Kali-m.]
 Most valuable remedy in catarrhal conditions and second stage
of inflammatory states. In all types of inflammations and
inflammatory fevers it works well, if given in alternation with
Ferrum Phos.

 white or grey coating at the base of the tongue
 discharge of thick, white mucus or slime from any of the
mucus membranes

 A good remedy for severe pain of decayed teeth, better by

 Homeopathic pain reliever and a great antispasmodic remedy.
The pains are intolerable, sharp, cutting, boring, piercing,
stabbing, shooting, stitching like lightning coming and going
and intermittent. But never burning.
 The pain shifts rapidly, usually affects the right side of the
body and consist chiefly in cramps.
 The pains are aggravated by motion, exposure to cold air, cold
application and hard pressure. Pains are ameliorated by
warmth, hot application, warm drinks, bending double (in
cramps of stomach and abdomen) and light pressure.

 A great remedy for diarrhoea, cholera or gastroenteritis.
 It mainly works on liver, duodenum, small intestines and
rectum.
 Giddiness with tendency to fall forward. Head sweat in
children during sleep.
 Headache alternates with diarrhoea. Rolls head from side to
side with moaning, vomiting and eyelids half closed.
 Tongue broad, large and moist with burning sensation. Foul
and putrid taste in mouth.

 Heart burn with hot and sour belching. Nausea and vomiting.

 Pulsatilla Pratensis Nigricans (Pulsatilla) [Puls.]
 Predominantly it is a female remedy and NUX VOMICA is a
male remedy. It does not mean that these remedies will not be
useful for opposite sex.
 For people of mild, gentle, soft, kind hearted and yielding
easily. They will adjust to any surroundings or situations.
 Sad, crying readily, weeps when talking. Changeable and
contradictory in thoughts. Becomes highly irritable
 Indecisive, timid, no resistance to challenge and easily
discouraged. Fear of opposite sex. Fears to be alone. Wants
company and likes sympathy.
 Depression of religious nature. Highly emotional. Extremes of
pleasure and pain.
 Children like fuss and caresses
 All discharge from the eyes, ears, nose, chest and other mucous
membranes are thick, bland, yellow, green and bad smelling.
 Patient likes open air and feels better there even though he is
chilly.

 In fevers heat in some parts of body and coldness in other
parts. Chilliness even in warm room without thirst.
 In most of the problems originated from stomach disorders and
if you are not in a position to select the proper remedy, give a
few doses of either NUX VOMICA or PULSATILLA.
 All problems worse from heat, rich fat food, after eating,
towards evening, warm room, lying on left or painless side,
when allowing feet to hang down. Better in open air, motion,
cold application, cold food and drinks though not thirsty.
Pyrogenium (Pyrogen) [Pyrog.]
 The great Homeopathic Antiseptic Remedy. For septic
conditions anywhere in the body.
 For any chronic complaints that started after the patient had
suffered from some septic conditions.

 All discharges are horribly offensive – menstrual, lochial,
diarrhoea, vomit, sweat, breath, etc.
 Coffee ground vomiting. Vomits water when it becomes warm
in stomach.
 Diarrhoea; horribly offensive, brown black, painless

black balls.
 Conscious of heart. Always can hear heart-beat. Tired feeling
about heart.
 Menses dark and horribly offensive. Uterine haemorrhages.

 An excellent remedy for septic infections in women after child
birth causing septic fever or severe pain in abdomen.
 Hectic typhoidal, typhus, chronic malarial, diphtheria and

hot sweat. But sweat does not cause fall in temperature. Very
rapid pulse, out of proportion to the temperature. Feels better
by moving around.
 Small cut or injury becomes much swollen, inflamed and
discolored. Dissecting wounds. Abscesses with severe pain and
burning.
 Aching all over the body, especially at night and feels bed is
too hard. Pain relieved by movement. Numbness in hands and
feet.
 Complaints from inhaling sewerage gas. Profuse pus formation
after surgery.
 During any illness, if blood analysis shows very high ESR
level then use PYROGENIUM–6 daily 2 or 3 doses along with
other chosen remedy.
 An excellent constitutional remedy to correct some of the
congenital (from birth) problems. To be administer in higher

 Rest makes mad. Rhus tox patient suffers from rest and better
by movement.

Ruta Graveolends (Ruta) [Ruta]
 An excellent remedy for injured or bruised bones, sprains and
strained eye muscles.
 Severe headache or pain in eye balls with redness and hotness
or pain at nape of neck due to eye strain from reading,
watching TV, working on computer or doing fine work like
sewing, engraving, water repair, electronic instruments repair,
compositors, etc.
 Pressure over eyeballs. Either short or long sight due to
disturbances of accommodation.
 Constant urge to urinate and feels bladder is full.
 Constipation with frequent unsuccessful urging to pass stools.
Stools passed after great straining.
 Constipation alternates with mucus, frothy stools and discharge
of blood with stool.
 Tearing pain in rectum when sitting. A good remedy for cancer
of the rectum.
 Prolapse or protrusion of rectum on attempting to pass stools or
during pregnancy or while bending forward.
 Backache worse in the morning before rising, better from
pressure and lying on back.

spreads upwards and settles over right eye. Pain better lying
down and sleeping. Pain in the back of head ‘like a flash of
lightning’. Headache on every 7th day or at menopause.
 Hay fever and chronic water discharge from nose. Nasal
polypi.
 Humming and roaring in ears. Earache with headache.
 Throat swollen, worse on right side. Tonsillitis.
 Diarrhoea from sudden stopping of catarrh of respiratory tract.
Cancer of rectum.
 Leucorrhoea discharge, bad smelling and irritating. Before
menses itching of axillae.
 Flushed face, flashes of heat, distention of veins, burning in
feet and palms, feeling of blood in the head. These symptoms
make it a good remedy for menopause.
 Cough with burning pain in chest, worse right side. Rust
coloured sputum, tough, offensive, impossible to raise.
 Cough returns with every fresh cold. Tickling behind sternum,
causes constant hacking cough day and night, worse lying

 Headache with terrific shocks at menopause with scanty flow.
 Giddiness with sensation of something rolling round in head.
 Thick plug and crusts in the nose. Thick lumpy greenish nasal
discharge must be hawked through the mouth.
 Black spots in the field of vision.
 Saddle like yellowish brown or dark patches on nose and
cheeks.
 Dirty coating on tongue but becomes clear during menses. Pain
in teeth from 6 PM till midnight, worse on lying.
 Morning sickness. Nausea in the morning before eating and
vomits after eating. Nausea at smell or sight of the food.
 Desire for vinegar, acids and pickles.
 Burning in pit of stomach, worse after milk, especially boiled.
 Liver sore and painful, better by lying on right side. Brown
spots on abdomen.

 Legs lame and stiff. Restlessness in all limbs, twitching and
jerking night and day. Pain in heels.
 Itching of skin in bends or elbows and knees not relieved by
scratching. Ringworm like eruptions in every spring. Rash with
itching on going in open air, better in warm room.
 It is called washerwoman’s remedy as complaints are brought
on or aggravated after laundry work.
 All problems are worse in the forenoon and evenings, from
washing, laundry work, dampness, left side, after sweat, cold
air, before thunderstorm. Better, by exercise, pressure, warmth
of bed, hot applications, drawing limbs up, cold bathing after
sleep.
Spigelia Anthelmia (Spigilia) [Spig.]
 Good remedy for left sided headache, worms, heart and
neurological problems.

 Fear of sharp pointed things, pins, needles etc.
 Left sided headache involving left temple, forehead, eye, cheek
and teeth. Worse bending, touch form morning to evening.
 Severe pain in and around eyes extending deep into sockets.
Jerking and twitching of eye lids.
 Foul smell from mouth. Tongue cracked and painful. Tearing
toothache after eating or from cold. Bad taste.
 Frequent attacks of violent palpitation with foul smell from
mouth. Pulse weak and irregular.
 Pain in left portion of chest extending to left shoulder and arm.
Craving for hot water during pain which gives relief.
 Breathlessness must lie on right side with head high.
 Rheumatic heart and rheumatic fever.
 Full of pains, shooting, burning like hot needles and tearing.
Pains are centered in the head, face, chest, heart and are worse
from moving, thinking and eating.
 Good remedy for worms. Pain around naval. Itching and
crawling in rectum. Frequent ineffectual urge to stool.
 Problems worse from touch, motion, noise, turning, washing,
concussion. Better lying on right side with head high, inhaling.
Sulphur [Sulph.]
 The king of anti-psoric remedies. Deep and long-acting drug.
Not to be repeated frequently.
 Skin diseases suppressed with external ointments may cause
more serious problems like respiratory troubles. Since its
action is centrifugal, it brings out the suppressed skin disease
and restores total health.
 But one must be very careful in using Sulphur as it erupts out
the suppressed skin disease like volcano. Even it may cause
severe aggravation.
 When carefully selected remedies fail to work, one dose of
Sulphur brings on positive reaction.

doors and windows open.
Thuja Occidentalis (Thuja) [Thuj.]
 A great anti-sycotic remedy. Antidotes the bad effects caused
from vaccination or inoculation.
 A good remedy for hydrogenoid constitution. That is
aggravation of all problems from exposure to damp weather,
damp surroundings and eating food items containing more
water or food items grown in and around water like fish,
vegetables melon etc.
 Specific remedy for warts on skin, especially near genital and
perineum.
 A constitutional remedy for any type of unwanted fleshy
growth in any part of the body, either external or internal. For
example: warts, corns, hard or spongy tumours, cysts, polyps,

prevents infection and helps in healing the wound quickly
