tems (TEM-Evo System). The Operating Terminal BRT is designated for the in-
stallation in a closed switching cabinet. With the touch function of the 15“ TFT
monitor the easy operation of the genset is ensured, and the graphical user in-
terface allows an easy and intuitive operation. Only gas engines CG132,
CG170, CG260 and the auxiliaries controlled by the TEM-Evo System may be
operated with the Operating Terminal BRT.

Assembly

3 Assembly

3.1 Place of Assembly

Height of assembly The minimum height for the assembly of the Operating Terminal BRT must be
1.5 m (bottom line of screen).

Figure 4: Height of assembly for the Operating Terminal BRT

Angle of view The design of the TFT-monitor of the Operating Terminal BRT allows for an op-
timum sight onto the screen from underneath or from the front. Therefore, the
Operating Terminal BRT shall be installed in a manner so that the angle of view
is between 90 ° and 60 °.

Assembly

Installation cutout The Operating Terminal BRT is designated for installation in the door of the
genset cabinet.
A rectangular cutout is required for the installation. The Operating Terminall
BRT is mounted properly in the installation cutout by means of the delivered
wedge clamps.

Important
The indicated dimensions of the installation cutout must be
exactly observed. Thus the seal between the Operating
Terminall BRT and the door of the genset cabinet is ensured.

Important
The wall thickness of the carrier material must be maximally
6 mm.

Assembly

3.2 Assembly of the Operating Terminal BRT

 The installation cutout is ready.

 8 wedge clamps with recessed head screw M4x35 are provided (scope of
delivery).
 Screwdriver (with recessed head) is provided.
Assembly  Open the screws on the delivered wedge clamps as wide as possible.
 Mount the Operating Terminal BRT in the installation cutout and push it up
to the limit stop. Prop the Operating Terminalon the front.
 Insert the two upper wedge clamps into the provided gaps from behind,
and push them up to the limit stop (1).
 Slighty tighten the screws onto the wedge clamps.
 Insert the two lower wedge clamps from behind and displace them.
 Slighty tighten the screws onto the wedge clamps.
Now the Operating Terminal BRT is provisionally fixed and it must no long-
er be propped.
 Adjust the Operating Terminal BRT in the installation cutout (2).
 Then attach the left wedge clamps onto the right and left sides and secure
by displacing them clockwise.

TEM Evolution System

Assembly

Dismantling  Unscrew the screws on the wedge clamps.

 Detach the wedge clamps by lateral displacement and remove them.
During this procedure prop the Operating Terminal on the front side.
 Untighten the Operating Terminal BRT and remove it out of the installation
gap.

3.3 Ambient Conditions

Faultless functioning of the unit is only ensured when the ambient conditions for
operation, storage and transport as described in the chapter »Technical Data«
are always observed.

3.4 Acclimation
Transportation at cold weather or a high fluctuation of temperature may result
in condensing moisture (bedewing) on and in the unit. This moisture may dam-
age the Operating Terminal BRT.
Therefore, in such situations the unit must be adopted slowly to the ambient
temperature on the site. It will be useful to plan always a waiting time after trans-
portation or storage at cold ambient temperatures for the temperature compen-
sation (in case of bedewing approx. 12 hours).

3.5 Ventilation
The waste heat arising during the operation of the Operating Terminal BRT
must be dissipated. Thus behind and at the side of the Operating Terminal BRT
a clearance of at least 10 cm is required so that an air current arises (convec-
tion) and the waste heat is dissipated evenly.

Electric Connection

4 Electric Connection

Caution
Always switch off the operating voltage on the switching cabinet
before beginning with installation and repair work.

Information

 For all electrical connections and signal connections the specifi-

cations in the commission-specific wiring diagram must be
applied.

Voltage supply  Connect the two pole connector (scope of delivery) as per commission-
connection specific wiring diagram.
 Engage the two pole connector in slot »24 V«.
Communication  Connect the six pole connector (scope of delivery) as described in the
connection commission-specific wiring diagram.
 Engage the six pole connector in the slot COM1 (Rx– … Tx–).
Protective conductor  Connect the earth screw on the unit of the Operating Terminal BRT to the
protective conductor (PE) of the genset cabinet.

Commissioning

5 Commissioning

Caution
Before commissioning of the unit make sure that there are no
voltages applied that are higher than 24 VDC.

The Operating Terminal BRT is delivered with the installed Operating Terminal
software.
Starting the Operating The Operating Terminal BRT is not equipped with an own circuit closer. It starts
Terminal BRT automatically when the supply voltage has been connected.
In case of installation in a TEM-Evo genset cabinet, the Operating Terminal is
protected by an automatic circuit breaker (see wiring diagram). In this case the
Operating Terminal BRT must always be switched in and switched off via the
corresponding automatic circuit breaker.
Rights The rights of access to a TEM-Evo System via Operating Terminal BRT and
Operating Terminal software is regulated via a multiple stage safety system. As
access keys to the different access levels USB licence dongles are used.
The access to the TEM-Evo System is only allowed if the required qualifications
and authorizations have been acquired in the appropriate trainings.
Switching off the The Operating Terminal BRT is automatically switched off when the installation
Operating Terminal is switched off or the voltage supply has been disconnected.
BRT
If the Operating Terminal is protected with an automatic circuit breaker, discon-
nection must always occur via the automatic circuit breaker.

Important
Switch off the Operating Terminal BRT only, after the
Operating Terminal sofware was terminated regularly.
Otherwise data may get lost when switching off the Operating
Terminal BRT.

Maintenance and Transport

6 Maintenance and Transport

Maintenance The unit does not require a special maintenance

Repair Defective units must only be repaired by the manufacturer. Please send a de-
fective unit packed in the original packing or in an equivalent packing to the
manufacturer.
Cleaning of the The housing is made of special stainless steel. Dust deposits can be removed
housing with compressed air.
Cleaning of the Clean the monitor only while the touchscreen is not active.
monitor
E. g. when:
• the Operating Terminal is switched off
• via Operating Terminal software, a special cleaning mask has been acti-
vated. Via this mask the touchscreen may be cleaned even during opera-
tion.

Caution
The monitor during operation must only be cleaned via the
activated cleaning mask. Touching an active touch zone may
cause unintended actions.

The monitor can be cleaned with a commercial glass cleaner or a neutral clean-
er and a soft cloth.
Never use caustic agents or scrubbing means. These could corrode or scratch
the surface of the monitor.
Transport The unit must be despatched or transported only in its original packing or in an
equivalent packing. During the transport the ambient conditions must be ob-
served (
see chapter »Technical Data« on page 17).
Storage In order to assure a reliable functioning of the unit, make sure the ambient con-
ditions are observed during the storage (
see chapter »Technical Data« on page 17).
Disposal For shutdown and disposal of the unit the pertinent local environmental regula-
tions must be observed.
EC Directive
WEEE Compliance
Important
The unit is a part of a stationary fixed installation and is not
subject to the CE-Directive WEEE Compliance, ElektroG.
The requirements of the Directive with regard to the limited use
of dangerous materials in electric and electronic units,
however, are realized at its production.
