dependent on the mother or a nurse. Later, emerging as a school child, he slings his bag
over his shoulder and creeps most reluctantly to school. His third stage is that of a lover,

when we wash our hand with soap and water, lather is formed. The soap leather washes
away the oil and the dirt on our hands. One part of the soap article attracts water and the
other part, oil. With this principle in our mind, we arranged a stirring stick, one mould and
a measuring cylinder. We obtained food colours, scent and glycerin flakes. We make use
of the pan from home with the help of these materials, we prepared fragrant mini soaps.
Firstly, a glycerin flake was broken into small pieces. Them the measuring cylinder was
filled up with these small pieces. For 10 seconds, we microwaved the glycerin. Thirdly, we
added 1-2 drops of colour and four drops of scent. Then it was kept in the freezer for about
30 minutes. Now the customized soap was ready.
Our Project has been cost-effective, which won the science teachers’ appreciation.

A family which lives together with all family members up to 2nd generation
like grand parents, parents, uncle, aunts and their children is called a joint family . The
importance of joint family is understood by the Indians since time immemorial. But
while young people are fond of advanced lifestyles, they shy away from living jointly
with their parents and grandparents. These people usually miss a lot of fun, caring,
elder’s guidance from time to time lack of which causes a lot of problems in the future
like loneliness, frustration etc. In the joint family , all members are equally sharing all
expenses, works and other things with the other members of the family so the burden

whole life. Similarly they can also easily get help from their parents. Small children will

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a nation-wide campaign in India for the period
2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s
cities, towns, urban and rural areas. The campaign’s official name is in Hindi and
translates to “Neat and tidy India Mission” in English. The objectives of Swachh
Bharat include eliminating open defecation through the construction of house hold-
owned and community-owned toilets and establishing an accountable mechanism of
monitoring toilet use. Run by the Government of India, the mission aims to achieve
an “open-defecation free India” by 2nd October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary
of Mahatma Gandhi by constructing 100 million toilets in rural India at a projected
cost of Rs.1.96 lakh crore. The campaign was officially launched on 2nd October
2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is India’s largest
cleanliness drive. Modi has called the campaign “Satyagrah se Swachhagrah” in
reference to Gandhi’s “Champaran Satyagraha” launched on 10th April 1916. The
government has constructed 11 million toilets since 2014. Many people continue
not to use toilets despite having them. The campaign has been criticized for using
coercive approaches to force people to use toilets. Many households have been
threatened with a loss of benefits such as access to electricity or food entitlements
through the public distribution system. As per an independent survey released
by Quality Council of India in August 2017, overall national rural access to toilets
increased to 62.5% and usage of toilets to 91.3%. The World Health Organisation
has in its report stated that at least 1,80,000 diarrhoeal deaths were averted in rural
India since the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission.

Medical researchers continue to examine any health risks associated with mobile
phone use. Research has focused on germs, traffic accidents, cancer, electromagnetic
radiation, and health effects such as changes in brain activity and sleep patterns.
There has been much debate surrounding the possible health effects of cell phone
use. People can avoid the health hazards by understanding what the risks are and how
to avoid them.
Cell Phones and Germs:
Mobile phones not only carry important data, but germs too. The average mobile
phone user puts their phone in contact with several places where it can pick up germs.
Basically if your hands are very dirty, then your phone tends to also be very
contaminated with the same type of bacteria. So, people are advised to wash their
hands with soap and water. They can also use a hand sanitizer, and importantly, clean
their mobile phones often using cloths and wipes.

One of the key factors which sustain the pace of modern life style is
telecommunication. Nowadays it plays an important role in the commercial industrial and

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell discovered the telephone. Telegraph and Telephone
have to be connected by wires through which electrical signals travel in the form of
current. The discovery of wireless at the turn of century by Marconi was a resultion
in the history of communication technology. It is no longer necessary to connect the
transmitter and the receiver by wires. The advent of artificial satellite has marked a

b) Paragraph: Value of Time:
We live in an age of interdependence. In a factory hundreds of workers labour
together. They are all logs in the big wheel. If anyone log gets late the machine
cannot get going. All others have to wait till this log, this worker arrives. It is therefore
everybody’s sacred obligation to be punctual to a second.
The same may be said of a school teacher. If he arrives late eventhough by five
minutes, the entire class of fifty students is kept waiting. The total loss of time is 500
minutes. One has only to recognize the magnitude of the loss to make punctuality a
principle of conduct. We have yet to learn the value of time. It was said of Kant, that
people used to correct their watches when he went out for his morning stroll. How one
wishes that we Indians could get a leaf out of that great man’s book!
