2. Air Systems and Bleed Air
1. On the ground, operate no more than one pack per engine.
2. Avoid operating packs in HIGH during takeoff and landing.
3. Maximum altitude for bleed air + electrical operation: 10,000 ft.
4. Maximum altitude for bleed air only: 17,000 ft.
5. Maximum altitude for electrical only: FL 410.
3. Engine Operations and Thrust
1. When using takeoff bump thrust, assumed temperature (SEL) thrust reduction is not
available.
2. B737 MAX: Starter usage limited to 5 minutes for extended engine motorings.
3. B737 MAX: Wait 5 minutes between the first two extended motorings.
4. B737 MAX: For third and subsequent motorings, wait 10 minutes between each.
5. B737 800: Starter usage limited to 15 minutes for the first two extended motorings.
6. B737 800: Wait 2 minutes between each attempt.
7. B737 800: For third and subsequent motorings, starter usage limited to 5 minutes.
8. B737 800: Wait 10 minutes between each attempt.
9. Maximum N1: 40% or 30% with engine anti-ice ON.
10. Set thrust before reaching 84 knots when THR HLD engages.
11. Thrust reduction must not exceed 25% of maximum takeoff thrust.
12. Assumed Temperature Method (ATM) is not allowed.
13. ATM is not authorized on contaminated runways.
14. Engine ignition must be ON for anti-ice operation.
15. Avoid engine or wing anti-ice when OAT > 10°C on ground or TAT > 10°C in flight.
16. Use wing anti-ice only after takeoff, not after anti-icing treatment.
17. Wing anti-ice above FL350 may cause bleed trip-off or cabin pressure loss.
18. If engine cold-soaked for 1+ hours below -40°C, do not start or motor.
19. B737-800: If ambient temperature < -35°C, idle engine for 2 minutes before adjusting
thrust.
20. MAX: Verify engine oil temperature ≥ 31°C before setting takeoff thrust.
21. Lowest takeoff/landing OAT: -54°C.
22. Engine start switches must be CONT during takeoff, landing, anti-ice, and heavy rain.
23. Minimum oil pressure (AFM S.1P.8): 13PSI.
24. Maximum oil temperature: 155°C (continuous: 140°C).
25. Engine anti-ice ON in icing conditions (visible moisture, temperature -10°C), except
climb-cruise when TAT < -40°C.
26. ENGINE CONTROL light on: Do NOT take off (ground only).
27. Do NOT use APU for anti-ice.
4. Fuel Systems
1. B737 800: FUEL FLOW Alert is not applicable.
2. B737 800: FUEL DISAGREE alert is not available.
3. B737 800: FUEL PROGRESS 5/5 is not available.
4. Minimum tank fuel temperature: -43°C or 3°C above fuel freezing point (whichever is
higher). Maximum: +49°C.
5. Resetting fuel circuit breakers by flight crew is prohibited.
6. Center tank fuel pumps must stay OFF unless flight deck personnel monitor low pressure
lights.
7. Random fuel imbalance must not exceed 453kg.
8. Main tanks 1 and 2 must be full if center tank > 453kg.
9. Check fuel crossfeed valve operation before each ETOPS flight.
10. Turn center tank fuel pumps OFF during takeoff if center tank < 500KG to avoid fuel
alerts.
11. Do not operate HF radio during refueling.
12. Intentional dry running of center tank fuel pump (low pressure light on) is prohibited.
13. Takeoff with cold-soaked fuel frost on wing tank upper surfaces is not permitted under
certain conditions.
14. Maximum fuel pressure: 55PSI.
15. Minimum main tank quantity for ground electric hydraulic pump operations: 760kg.
5. Flight Controls, Autopilot, and Speedbrake
1. Do not use aileron trim with autopilot engaged.
2. In flight, do not extend speedbrake beyond flight detent.
3. Do not deploy speedbrakes below 1,000 ft AGL.
4. Do not engage autopilot below 400 ft AGL.
5. For single-channel approach, disengage autopilot above 158 ft AGL.
6. Leading Edge (LE) devices cannot be retracted by standby hydraulic system.
7. LEADING EDGE FLAP TRANSIT:
8. Do not use Flap 30 landing if crosswind > 30kts.
9. If Mach Trim Light on, do not exceed 280kts/.82M.
10. If horizontal stabilizer is de/anti-iced, limit airspeed to 270kts.
11. TR UNIT: Do NOT use APP Mode.
6. Landing Gear and Brakes
1. Do not use brakes or hold/turn nose wheel steering during pushback or towing.
2. Anti-skid must be operative on non-dry runways.
3. Do not use autobrakes with anti-skid inoperative.
4. Minimum brake pressure: 2800PSI.
5. Minimum hydraulic (A&B) pressure: 2800PSI.
