Address: No. 22, VOC Street, Shenoy Nagar, Chennai – 600030, Tamil Nadu.
School: Class 3, Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar Campus.

7. Brief Facts of the Case:


On 11/08/2025 at about 11:15 hrs, the accused, Mr. V. John Vessly, while driving an Audi A6
car bearing registration number KA 03 AB 4596 at high speed and in a rash and negligent
manner, struck 8-year-old Aravind Raj who was crossing the road near Shop No. 27, 2nd
Avenue, Anna Nagar, Chennai. The impact caused the child to fall and sustain grievous head
injuries.

The victim was immediately taken by local residents to Government Kilpauk Medical College
Hospital, where he was declared brought dead by duty doctors. The accused fled the scene after
the incident without rendering assistance to the victim.

The incident was witnessed by the complainant, Mr. Ramesh Kumar, and local shopkeepers Mr.
Venkatesh and Mr. Prakash.

8. Sections of Law Applicable:

 IPC Section 279 – Rash driving or riding on a public way


 IPC Section 304A – Causing death by negligence
 IPC Section 134(a)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act – Duty of driver in case of accident and
injury to a person
 Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act – Dangerous driving

9. Action Taken:
The case is registered and assigned to SI P. Karthikeyan (Appointment Room No.: 214, Anna
Nagar PEW P.S.) for investigation. Vehicle details have been circulated to all check posts and
RTO for seizure. Post-mortem request has been sent to Government Kilpauk Medical College
Hospital. Witness statements are being recorded.
